There are provided a capsule and a chemical reaction cartridge capable of properly handling reagents and so forth. The capsule is formed by laminating two dome-shaped films together at the peripheries thereof. The films are formed by subjecting heat sealable films, to which aluminum vapor deposition is applied, to a drawing process. The films are made of a material (easy-peel material), which can be varied in seal strength by a heating temperature and are thermally welded together at an adhesion area at the peripheries thereof. Thereafter, contents such as reagents and so forth are filled up inside the capsule via a filling section.

Capsule and chemical reaction cartridge

The present invention makes it possible to realize a chemical reaction cartridge, which enables prescribed protocols to be achieved easily without differences among operators. The cartridge is sealed and disposable, and has a safe structure against viruses or dangerous drugs. This cartridge is intended to be used for performing chemical reaction of samples. The cartridge comprises a container formed of a rigid substrate and an elastic body, wherein two or more chambers linked or arranged to be able to be linked through flow paths are formed in the container. The flow paths, the chambers or both are partially closed by applying an external force to the elastic body from outside the container, thereby being able to move or block fluid substance in said flow paths or chambers.

Chemical reaction cartridge, its fabrication method, and a chemical reaction cartridge drive system

There is provided a molecularity measurement instrument capable of working out the number of molecules in a sample by comparing a measured value of a light quantity with a theoretical light quantity per a single molecule, and a molecularity measurement method using the same. The molecularity of the sample is quantitatively estimated on the basis of a light quantity having correlation with the molecularity. The molecularity measurement method comprises the step of working out a theoretical light quantity per a single molecule, the step of measuring a light quantity of the sample by use of an image detector, and the step of working out the molecularity of the sample on the basis of a ratio of the light quantity of the sample to the theoretical light quantity as worked out.

Molecularity measurement instrument and molecularity measurement method

A cartridge adaptable to various measurement forms is provided. A sample is injected into a well via an injection path. When a roller while kept pressed into contact with the cartridge is rotated rightward, the sample held in the well, and liquid solvent held in a well are caused to reach a well via flow paths, respectively, thereby mixing the sample with the liquid solvent. A mixed liquid is branched into flow paths, respectively, to thereby reach wells, respectively, and reagents pre-held in wells, respectively, are caused to flow into the wells, respectively. Next, temperatures in the wells, respectively, are controlled, thereby executing DNA amplification. Then, PCR by-products as amplified in the wells, respectively, are transferred as far as a position in the vicinity of an electrode via flow paths. Subsequently, a voltage is applied across the electrode as a negative electrode, and an electrode as a positive electrode via a drawing electrode and a drawing electrode, to thereby cause the PCR by-products to undergo electrophoresis.

Chemical reaction cartridge and method of using same

The present invention describes a disposable chemical reaction cartridge comprising a container formed of a rigid substrate and an elastic body, wherein two or more chambers are linked or configured to be linked through flow paths, and wherein the flow paths, the chambers or both, can be partially closed by applying an external force to the elastic body from outside of the container, to move or block fluids in the flow paths or chambers. The cartridge has a structure protected against viruses or dangerous drugs and facilitates foolproof implementation of prescribed protocols for the samples to be tested.

A chemical reaction cartridge enabling chemical reaction to be stably and safely carried out therein, and a method of using the same are provided. A chemical reaction cartridge is provided with a substrate, and an elastic memberoverlaid on the substrate. A recess of a predetermined shape, depressed toward the top surface of the elastic member is formed in the back surface of the elastic member. The recess creates space between the substrate, and the elastic member, thereby making up a well, for holding the main ingredient of the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a well for holding a curing agent for the epoxy adhesive, a flow path communicating with the well, a mixing part for mixing the main ingredient with the curing agent, and a discharge path for discharging a mixture. While the chemical reaction cartridge is not in use as yet, the flow paths, and the discharge path are closed, so that the wells are, in effect, in a hermetically sealed condition. The mixing part is made up of a plurality of flow paths intersecting each other. The respective starting ends of the flow paths are each linked with the flow path, or the flow path, and the respective terminals of the flow paths are linked with the discharge path. The terminal of the discharge path communicates with the outside via an end face of the cartridge.

Chemical reaction cartridge and method using same

There is provided a biochip capable of quantitatively grasping hybridization efficiency. In the biochip comprising a plurality of probe sites with target molecules bonded thereto, respectively, the probe sites disposed thereon, the marker sites with a known number of fluorescent molecules bonded thereto, respectively, are disposed. With the biochip, the number of the fluorescent molecules bonded to the respective marker sites is already known, so that respective hybridization efficiencies at the probe sites can be quantitatively grasped by comparing respective intensity of fluorescent light of the probe sites with an intensity of fluorescent light of the marker sites. The fluorescent molecule may be bonded to the respective marker sites when the biochip is formed, or the respective marker sites may be made up such that the fluorescent molecule of a predetermined molecular weight is bonded thereto by a predetermined processing applied to the biochip. The respective marker sites may be formed by use of a biopolymer of the same species as that for the respective probe sites.

Method for analyzing a biochip

A biochemical reaction apparatus used to carry out a chemical reaction of fluid includes a cartridge including a container which is at least partially structured with an elastic body, the container including inside thereof a plurality of chambers to contain the fluid and flow passages to connect the plurality of chambers and rollers to apply an external force to the elastic body and deform the elastic body to move the fluid in the flow passages or the chambers by rotationally moving on a front surface of the elastic body while the roller contacts with the front surface of the elastic body, and in a cross-sectional shape of the roller, which is perpendicular to a roller shaft, at least not less than three corners are included, and the cross-sectional shape is a shape in which sides between the corners are equal in length.

Biochemical reaction apparatus and biochemical reaction method

The present invention relates to a method of extracting nucleic acid or protein, in which multi-layer dendrimers are formed on the surface of fine particles, amino radicals for capturing nucleic acid or protein are formed on the surface of these dendrimers, and nucleic acid or protein is extracted using these amino radicals. The present invention can greatly and easily increase the recovery ratio of nucleic acid or protein.

Method of extracting nucleic acid or protein using dendrimers and dendrimer-compositional substances

The present invention provides a dendrimer-based biochip, wherein a flow channel through which a solution containing biopolymer molecules is flowed is formed in the substrate of the biochip, a plurality of dendrimer molecules one end of each of which is bound to the walls of the flow channel are formed thereon, and probe biopolymer or antibody molecules are bound to the tips of the dendrimer molecules so that, if the probe biopolymer molecules are bound, then target biopolymer molecules can be captured by means of a complementary combination and, if the antibody molecules are bound, then protein can be extracted by means of antigen-antibody reaction, whereby biopolymers can be retrieved in a highly efficient manner.
