The line connection (10) connects a first line (14.1) via an intermediate line (12.1) with a second line (16.1) and, functionally parallel therewith, a first branch line (14.2) via an additional intermediate line (12.2) with a second branch line (16.2). The line connection (10) itself comprises two coaxial cylinders (20, 22), which are rotatable in relation to each other, and a planet wheel (24) disposed in the space between the cylinder (20, 22), as well as the intermediate line (12.1) and the additional intermediate line (12.2). Connections (18.1, 18.2) of the first line (14.1) and the first branch line (14.2) to the intermediate line (12.1) and the additional intermediate line (12.2) are disposed on one of the cylinders (20 or 22), and on the other of the cylinders (22 or 20) the connections (19.1, 19.2) of the intermediate line (12.1) and the additional intermediate line (12.2) to the second line (16.1) or the second branch line (16.2). In a zero position all connections (18.1, 18.2, 19.1, 19.2), the intermediate line (12.1) and the additional intermediate line (12.2) as well as the planet wheel (24) are arranged mirror-inverted in relation to a plane of symmetry (S), which is defined by the axes (M) of the cylinder (20, 22) and the axis (N) of the planet wheel (24), wherein the intermediate line (12.1) and the additional intermediate line (12.2), starting at the connections on one cylinder, each encircle one half of the planet wheel in a complementary manner and are then continued to the connections on the other cylinder. With a suitable design, a relative rotation out of the zero position by at least 360.degree. is possible in each direction of rotation.

Line connection

The optical bench (10) contains a bench structure (20) and at least two optical units (12, 14, 16) fastened to the bench structure (20), whose axes are essentially oriented at predetermined angles transversely in respect to the bench structure. The bench structure (20) has a receiving element (22, 24, 26) for each optical unit (12, 14, 16), in which an end section of the optical units is fastened. The remaining parts of the optical units (12, 14, 16) freely project away from the bench structure (20) in the direction of their axes (13, 15, 17). In a first variant, the receiving elements are connected by arms, which can be integrated into a thin plate. In a second variant, the optical bench has a radiation shielding plate (50) covering the area of the optical units (12, 14, 16), which is disposed on the side of the bench structure (20) facing away from the optical units (12, 14, 16) and preferably is resiliently fastened, so that bending or tilting of the radiation shielding plate (50) has no effect on the orientation of the axes (13, 15, 17). When using the optical bench (10) in a satellite of a telecommunications device in space, its size is determined by taking the occurring changing loads and the loads encountered during the start phase of the launch rocket into consideration.

Optical bench and use thereof

A periscope-like sighting device is proposed which comprises an optical system comprising a plurality of elements arranged within a housing for localizing and tracking a target. In order to obtain as great as possible a field of observation, the optical system comprising a first deflection prism, an objective lens or lens system, a first beam splitter, a second beam splitter and a second deflection prism is arranged in the housing sloping backward in the direction of incident radiation and in relation to a vertical rear housing wall. A main mirror is associated with the first beam splitter and is journaled in a mirror head arranged sloping backward in the housing to be pivotable about a first axis and rotatable about a second axis. In order to achieve a range-finding of the target, a laser range finder can be arranged on the housing of the sighting device and is preferably subdivided into a laser transmitter portion and a laser receiver portion and the principal components of the laser receiver portion are arranged within the housing.

Periscope-like sighting device

An optical system for a periscope-like sighting device is proposed for the localization, tracking and measurement of a target and comprises a plurality of optical elements as well as a laser range-finder essentially comprising transmitter and receiver portions. In this optical system, the visible and invisible radiation mutually parallelly incident upon a main mirror rotatable about a first axis and pivotable about a second axis is reflected to a first deflection prism. The first deflection prism deflects the radiation at substantially right angles through an objective lens to a first beam-splitter. The first beam-splitter deflects the invisible laser radiation to the receiver portion and transmits the visible radiation to a second beam-splitter and thence to a second deflection prism and an ocular. For achieving a view of the field of observation or a tracking of the target, or both, a television camera can be arranged on the side of the housing of the sighting device.

Optical system for a sighting device

An eye shield or eyepiece for a viewing device, especially for a day and night vision sighting device for aiming a weapon essentially comprises a headrest and first and second mounting frames. These components form an assembly for mounting on the housing of a viewing device. For the practical manipulation and adaptation of the headrest to the form of the head of the observer, two hinge-like articulations are provided in mutually spaced relationship on the external face of a forehead rest of the headrest. A relatively low pressure force against the inner face of the forehead rest deforms and correspondingly adapts the elastomeric or flexible plastic headrest. In order to actuate, for instance, a laser distance measuring device mounted in the viewing device, the assembly formed by the headrest and first and second mounting frame components is articulated to the housing of the viewing device, and an actuating or switching member mounted on the second mounting frame can be brought into engagement with an enabling switch.
