A system can, in response to receiving first monitoring data for a first computing system from a first collector, associate the first computing system with a first cluster of a group of clusters that corresponds to the first collector. The system can, in response to receiving second monitoring data for the first computing system from a second collector, and in response to determining that a first similarity value between the first computing system and the first collector is less than a second similarity value between the first computing system and the second collector, change an association of the first computing system from the first cluster to a second cluster of the group of clusters that corresponds to the second collector. The system can, in response to changing the association, store third monitoring data for the first computing system that is received from the second collector.

An information handling system includes a wireless management controller having a first wireless network interface used to establish a secure short-range wireless network connection between a management controller and a mobile device. A second wireless network interface establishes a peer-to-peer wireless network connection between the management controller and the mobile device. The management controller stores a secure shell public key received from the mobile device through the secure short-range wireless network connection. The management controller randomly identifies a port number for the peer-to-peer wireless network connection, and disables network traffic through other ports associated with the peer-to-peer wireless network connection. The management controller also transmits a media access control address, the port number, and a host fingerprint to the mobile device through the secure short-range wireless network connection, and receives an access request from the mobile device on the port number of the peer-to-peer wireless network connection after the mobile device authenticated the media access control address and the host fingerprint Determining whether the mobile device is authentic through a secure shell negotiation based on the received secure shell public key. In response to the determination that the mobile device is authentic identifying a group owner of the peer-to-peer wireless network connection based on a negotiation with the mobile device. After the establishment of the peer-to-peer wireless network connection, the management controller may communicate packets with the mobile device on the port number of the peer-to-peer wireless network connection, where outbound packets are encrypted and inbound packets are decrypted.

System and method for providing a seamless and secure access to management and monitoring systems

A mechanism is provided for utilizing localized clusters within a mesh network to aid in tracking environmental factors associated with information handling systems in an environment having a large number of information handling systems installed. Sensors within each information handling system measure a variety of environmental factors, such as, for example, temperature (CPU, ambient, air inlet, air exhaust, system board, and the like), air flow through the information handling system, fan speed, and hardware utilization. The sensor-derived environmental information is provided to a lead local cluster node, which can provide local responses to environmental values exceeding thresholds. Lead nodes generate a mapping of the environmental factors and provide that mapping to a data center management server. The data center management server collates environmental mapping information to derive a data center-wide environmental mapping used by management personnel to make adjustments to balance load, reduce temperatures, and reduce energy usage.

The smartphone captures images of hardware in a data center. The captured images are processed to produce a full set of annotated images. A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for augmented reality detection of enterprise systems in a data center. An augmented reality view is captured of an enterprise system and objects of the enterprise system. Significant areas are detected of the enterprise. In the captured augmented reality view bounding boxes are added around the significant areas. Determination is performed of three-dimensional orientation of the significant areas. Depth of the signification areas is determined based on the three-dimensional orientation.

Enterprise system augmented reality detection

A mechanism is provided for utilizing location services of a mesh network to aid in tracking the presence and location of information handling systems in an environment having a large number of systems installed. In one embodiment, each information handling system joins a mesh network to form localized clusters. Mesh network location services aid the new system in finding a vertically-closest node in the cluster or a neighboring cluster. With this information, the new system can determine in which rack the system is installed. This information can then be provided to an inventory management system for inclusion of the information handling system in an inventory tracking database. Embodiments are also configured to determine when an information handling system is removed from the mesh network and can inform the inventory management system of the removal in order to determine whether additional steps need to be taken in response.

Data center automatic inventory and location data population and recovery using mesh network

An information handling system for managing equipment in a datacenter includes a display, a wireless communication interface, and an imaging system configured to capture image data from within a field of view of the imaging system. The information handling system shows the image data on the display, and provides an augmented reality overlay on the display over the image data. The augmented reality overlay locates an element of datacenter equipment that needs to be serviced. The information handling system further determines that the element is within the field of view, establishes a wireless communication link with the element via the wireless communication interface in response to determining that the element is within the field of view, and receives an instruction to service the element from a remote service system in response to establishing the wireless communication link.

System and method for remote hardware support using augmented reality and available sensor data

An information handling system for identifying equipment in a datacenter establishes a wireless communication link with an element of datacenter equipment, and receives identification information from the element. The identification information distinguishes the element from other elements of the datacenter equipment that are visibly indistinct from the first element. The information handling system further captures image data when the field of view of an imaging system includes the element, displays the image data on a display, matches a portion of the image data with an image object associated with the first and second elements, determines an identity of the element based upon the identification information and the image object, and displays an augmented reality overlay on the display over the image data. The augmented reality overlay co-locates the image object with the portion and includes the identity over the portion.

System and method for determining location and navigating a datacenter using augmented reality and available sensor data

An information handling system for managing equipment in a datacenter captures image data when a field of view of an imaging system includes a server rack, determines a bounding box of the server rack based upon the image data, determines slot locations in the bounding box, establishes a wireless communication link with an element of datacenter equipment via the wireless communication interface, determines an identity of the element based upon an identification message sent to the element via the wireless communication link, determines one of the slot locations based upon the identity, receives configuration information from the element via the wireless communication link, and displays an augmented reality overlay on the display over the image data. The augmented reality overlay co-locates a first image object associated with the first element with the one slot location and includes the first configuration information.
