A data search and retrieval system that, in response to a search query, applies a model to search results to generate information to be returned to a user. The model may define characteristics of a persona such that the application of the model generates information consistent with the persona. A persona may be an individual person or a group of people having shared characteristics. A user may be presented with a list of identifiers of available models of personae. When the user selects a model of a particular persona to be applied, the information generated in return to the user may be consistent with the characteristics associated with the selected persona.

Systems and methods are provided that perform automatic URL analysis and correction in a computing system. The systems and methods automatically detect misentered or incorrect URLs, analyzing the invalid URLs with respect intelligent rules and valid URLs, and where a high likelihood exists for alternative URLs being intended, the alternative URLs are presented to the user as suggestions. The URLs used for comparison to the URL input may be collected through multiple channels or from multiple sources, which may be dynamically updated sources, including URLs commonly or newly found on the Web, users' favorite URLs and the like, as well as URLs from a standard URL list or database, all of which may be from one or more multi-lingual domain. In various embodiments, the alternative URL(s) are automatically presented when there is a very high confidence that the alternatives are desirable. Optionally, a mini search or a full blown search on the URL input may be performed and presented to the user to supplement the alternative URL suggestions. The systems allow a user to seek help or technical information about the URL navigation or search attempt and also allow a user to easily retry the query, ignoring the suggestions.

Systems and methods for providing runtime universal resource locator (URL) analysis and correction

A method includes advertising a policy characterizing communication properties supported by a node. The policy may be distributed to another node in response to a request for the policy. Policy expressions in the policy include one or more assertions that may be grouped and related to each other in a plurality of ways. A system includes a policy generator for generating at least one policy characterizing properties of a node. A policy retriever retrieves a policy from another node and a message generator generates a message to the other node, wherein the message conforms to the policy from the other node.

Dynamic protocol construction

The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for relaying messages through firewalls. A message relay negotiates first communication parameters with relay components inside a firewall and (potentially different) second communication parameters with applications outside the firewall. The message relay receives a message from an outside application in accordance with the second negotiated parameters and maps an electronic address in the received message to an inside application. The message relay transforms the message and sends the transformed message over an established connection through the firewall to a relay component in accordance with the first negotiated parameters. The relay component receives the transformed message and transforms the transformed message back into the message. The relay component delivers the message to the inside application in accordance with the second negotiated parameters.

A web services namespace pertains to an infrastructure for enabling creation of a wide variety of applications. The infrastructure provides a foundation for building message-based applications of various scale and complexity. The infrastructure or framework provides APIs for basic messaging, secure messaging, reliable messaging and transacted messaging. In some embodiments, the associated APIs are factored into a hierarchy of namespaces in a manner that balances utility, usability, extensibility and versionability.

Interface infrastructure for creating and interacting with web services

In accordance with certain aspects of extensible configuration handlers, a method of using a configuration file to generate one or more components that are accessible to an application comprises a two-phase process. In a first phase, a plurality of components defined in a configuration file are created. In the second phase, one or more of the plurality of components are notified of the presence of the other components in the plurality of components. In accordance with certain other aspects of the extensible configuration handlers, the configuration handlers defined in a configuration file are nested configuration handlers.

A search engine receives a search query from a user and forwards the received query to a partner by way of a call to a generic proxy with the query for the partner. The generic proxy receives and processes the query, forwards the processed query to the partner, receives search results responsive to the forwarded query from the partner, and processes the received search results, all according to the configuration information corresponding to the partner. The generic proxy then forwards the processed search results to the search engine for further forwarding to the querying user. Accordingly, each of several partners has corresponding configuration information unique thereto and only the generic proxy need be developed for all of the several partners.
