The present disclosure relates to a pre-5-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Embodiments of present disclosure relates to apparatus and method for enabling optimized decoding of data packet in HARQ based communication in wireless communication network. Initially, unsuccessful decoding of instant data packet received from transmitting unit is identified. If number of previous data packets, received preceding the instant data packet, is greater than one, subsequent decoding is enabled in the receiving unit for the instant data packet. The subsequent decoding includes generating sequentially, modified versions of data packets, for decoding. The modified versions comprises all possible weighted combinations of the data packets with at least one of the instant data packet and one or more of the previous data packets. Each of the modified versions is decoded individually and a subsequent modified version from the modified versions is generated when unsuccessful decoding is identified for previously generated modified version from the modified versions.

Method and apparatus for enabling optimized decoding of data packet in HARQ based communication

In an example embodiment, a method of reducing SR max retransmissions in a communication network is disclosed. The method includes: accessing an SR max retransmission UE pool stored in a storage of the base station, the SR max retransmission UE pool being a list of plurality of UEs which experienced SR max retransmission. The method further includes identifying at least one UE in the SR max retransmission pool that would enter an SR max retransmission state, based on a last PUSCH uplink time period and a SR max retransmission time period associated with the at least one UE. Further, the method includes allocating a dummy UL grant to the identified at least one UE.

Handling scheduling request failure in a network

The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for efficiently allocating grants for resource allocation based on BSR index. The method includes receiving by a Base-Station (BS) a Buffer Status Report (BSR) index value from a User Equipment (UE) along with buffer size corresponding to an Uplink (UL) data transmission request. Upon determining the buffer size corresponding to the received BSR index value to be greater than a predefined threshold value, resources to the UE is allocated corresponding to a maximum buffer size of (BSR index-n). Upon receiving UL data from the UE based on the allocated resources, resources to the UE are allocated subsequently using a predefined allocation mechanism until one of, detection of padding bits in the received UL data and on detecting maximum allocation of predefined number of allocation.

Method and system for allocating resource in wireless communication network

Disclosed herein is method and system for hierarchical decoding of data packets in cellular communication network. At first, base station upon receiving data packets computes LLR values and evaluates computed LLR values through first Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) to determine successful decoding of data packets. When first CRC is unsuccessful and when SINR is greater than first predefined threshold, base station combines LLR values of intra base stations with computed LLR values for decoding data packets and performs second CRC check to determine if data packets are successfully decoded. The base station combines LLR values of intra base stations and LLR values of inter base stations with computed LLR values for decoding data packets when SINR value of inter base stations is greater than second predefined threshold and when evaluated second CRC is unsuccessful and performs third CRC. The present disclosure increases throughput and reduces latency significantly while decoding packets.

A method of dynamic memory management in a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, by the UE, transport block size (TBS) information, from a base station (BS), associated with a data packet to be transmitted by the BS to the UE; identifying, by the UE, a plurality of empty bins and a size of each of the plurality of empty bins in a memory of the UE; detecting, by the UE, a presence of one or more empty bins, among the plurality of empty bins in the memory, with a size of each of the one or more empty bins greater than the TBS of the data packet; and allocating, by the UE, a smallest size empty bin, with a size greater than the TBS of the data packet, among the one or more empty bins to the data packet.

Method and system for providing enhanced packet data services to a user equipment

Disclosed herein is a technique for enhanced parameter negotiation in Evolution-Data Optimized (EVDO) communication systems that use Generic Configuration Protocol to negotiate session parameters or session attributes. The technique reduces the number of parameter negotiation cycles involved during the session configuration process. A new AlternateValueAllowed field is added in the attribute record. The Configuration Request message sent by the initiator allows the Configuration Response message responder to send the responder's preferred attribute value to the initiator, when the Configuration Request message does not contain the preferred attribute value of the responder. Such a modified attribute record structure obviates the need for multiple attribute negotiation cycles, and therefore saves session negotiation time.

Method and system for enhanced parameter negotiation in EVDO communication systems

Interworking in a multi-protocol revision based Evolution Data Only/Evolution Data Optimized (EVDO) communication system is described. In this scheme, an access terminal (AT) and an access network (AN) perform session configuration in multi-protocol scenarios. The AT maintains a set indicating all the protocol revisions it supports. The AT and AN start their session negotiation with the subtypes corresponding to the highest protocol revision supported by AT and AN. There are two scenarios in which AT sends the Unicast Access Terminal Identifier (UATI) request message with protocol revisions: power up and idle handoff.
