Disclosed is an egress pack for egressing a craft. The egress pack includes an egress aid defining a cavity and an inflation port. The egress pack includes an inflation duct connected with the inflation port for supplying gas to the cavity. The inflation duct defines a flow direction oriented to supply the cavity. The inflation duct defines a first ingress port defined by a first boundary and defining a primary flow path in the flow direction. The inflation duct defines a second ingress port defining a secondary flow path in fluid communication with the primary flow path. The inflation duct defines a divider disposed between the first ingress port and the second ingress port that coincides with the first boundary.

A lumbar support system for an aircraft seat includes a deformable lumbar support basket having a proximate end and a distal end. The system includes a shape memory alloy tension cable in communication with the proximate end of the deformable lumbar support basket, and the distal end of the deformable lumbar support basket. The shape memory alloy tension cable has a changeable tension length with an electric current through the cable. The system also includes a controller operatively connected with the shape memory alloy tension cable. The controller transmits the electric current through the shape memory alloy tension cable based on the user actuation. The electric current causes the shape memory alloy tension cable to deform the lumbar support basket by tension force applied to the proximate end of the deformable lumbar support basket and the distal end of the deformable lumbar support basket.

A third rod is spaced from the seat pad, extends across and is secured to the frame, and defines a third control line. At least a first actuator extends between and is attached to the first and third rods. A second actuator extends between and is attached to the second and third rods. The actuators are movable along the frame and pivotable about the third control line for allowing a change of respective positions of the control lines to generate multiple profiles of the flexible lumbar support.

A mechanism for decreasing kinetic energy includes a carriage to connect to an object, a first wire passing through a top portion of the carriage, a second wire coterminous with the first wire at a top end and a bottom end, a spreading wheel axially fixed in a center position of the carriage between the first and second wires to plastically deform the first and second wires from a substantially parallel configuration to conform to a circumferential surface on two opposing sides of the spreading wheel as the carriage moves from the top to the bottom end, and a pair of despreading wheels axially parallel to and oriented proximal to the spreading wheel such that the first and second wires are deformed by a circumferential surface of each of the despreading wheels such that they are deformed again as the carriage moves from the top to the bottom end.
