An illustrative virtual meeting management system associates a user device of a participant of a virtual meeting with a physical location from which the participant and one or more additional participants participate in the virtual meeting. The virtual meeting management system determines that the participant provides a user input via the user device during the virtual meeting. The user input indicates that the participant will speak. Based on the user input and the associating, the virtual meeting management system provides an active speaker indicator for presentation in a virtual meeting interface provided to one or more participants of the virtual meeting. The active speaker indicator specifies a participant identifier representative of the participant. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Systems and methods for identifying an active speaker in a virtual meeting

An illustrative virtual meeting management system associates a user device of a participant of a virtual meeting with a physical location from which the participant and one or more additional participants participate in the virtual meeting. The virtual meeting management system determines that the participant provides a user input via the user device during the virtual meeting. The user input indicates that the participant will speak. The active speaker indicator specifies a participant identifier representative of the participant and a place identifier representative of the physical location from which the participant participates in the virtual meeting. An illustrative user device of a user establishes a secured connection between the user device and a server of an organization. Via the secured connection, the user device receives schedule information of a virtual meeting associated with the user. The user device authenticates a proximity-based connection between the user device and a room conference system. In response to the authenticating of the proximity-based connection, the user device transmits the schedule information of the virtual meeting to the room conference system. The room conference system is configured to use the schedule information to connect to a conference server to launch the virtual meeting on the room conference system. Corresponding methods and systems are also disclosed.

Virtual meeting systems and methods for a remote room conference system

A content streaming apparatus, method, and computer readable media steer a client device to from one wireless access point to another based on usage history of the client device. A controller is configured to establish a wireless streaming session between one or more access points and one or more client devices. An initial profile category is assigned by one or more access point to the client device based on one or more profile categories. A self-learning algorithm is executed to collect usage data of the client device and store the usage to create a usage history profile for the client device. The controller provides instruction to steer the client device to one of the access points based on the usage history profile of the client. Preferably, the content streaming apparatus is a home network controller. From the software/client end a steering app is downloadable to the client device for executing software associated with the self-learning algorithm.

Method and apparatus to configure access points in a home network controller protocol

Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate selective advertisement display based on a channel switch. When a channel switch from a first channel to a second channel is initiated at a set-top box (STB), the STB may identify one or more properties associated with the second channel. Advertisement content may be stored at the STB, and each piece of advertisement content may be associated with one or more channel identifiers, genres/categories, or other channel properties. The STB may identify advertisement content that is associated with a channel identifier, genre/category, or other property of the second channel, and the identified advertisement content may be output to a display device during an acquisition of the second channel or for another predetermined duration.

Methods, systems, and computer readable media can be operable to facilitate the generation and utilization of a profile based channel lineup. A multimedia device delivering video services to one or more users may monitor channel and content requests received by the individual one or more users, and the multimedia device may create a profile for each of the users, wherein the profile includes a channel list of only those channels that are frequently tuned to by the respective user. The multimedia device may create an association between a user, a frequently viewed channel, and a time at which the channel is typically viewed by the user. A profile based viewing session or feature may be enabled at the multimedia device, wherein tuning decisions, channel change responses, and program information displays are controlled by the multimedia device based on a profile associated with a selected user.
