A system/process provides fault tolerance to an integrated component system which integrates core components of a transaction processing system into a single processing platform, i.e., a single server, enabling elimination of the network interconnects and associated latencies introduced thereby in favor of much faster interconnects, such as inter-process communication and shared memory communication messaging, where a failure of any one component necessitates failing over the entire system to a backup thereof.

Provided is a hot-fill container adapted to provide vertical vacuum compensation in response to negative pressure inside the container. The container comprises one or more horizontal ribs that are configured to diminish in height in response to vacuum conditions inside the container. Each rib comprises an upper wall connected to a lower wall. The upper and lower walls are inclined from a horizontal reference line and adapted to hinge with respect to each other to provide vertical vacuum compensation.

A plastic container is provided having a container body and a closed base. The base includes a base body and a plurality of deflection ribs configured to buckle as the base deforms in response to an increase in negative pressure internal to the container.

A plastic container () that exhibits an optimal ratio of hoop strength to top load strength includes a finish portion () and generally cylindrical main body portion (). The main body portion includes a sidewall () that has a first plurality of generally vertical ribs () defined therein. In addition, a second plurality of generally horizontal wave () shaped ribs is defined in the sidewall. The generally horizontal wave shaped ribs intersect with the generally vertical ribs, thereby imparting enhanced strength characteristics to the container ().

A hot fillable container includes a bottom and a sidewall connected with the bottom so as to define an internal space. The sidewall is further shaped so as to define in transverse cross-section a first convex sidewall label area having a first convexly curved outer surface having a first curvature and a second convex sidewall area having a second convexly curved outer surface having a second curvature. The label area is of the type that has no horizontal reinforcing ribs. The sidewall is constructed and arranged so that deformation of the sidewall in response to a partial vacuum condition within the internal space after a hot fill process will result in a decrease of the first curvature and an increase of the second curvature. This deformation is effected without any denting of the sidewall.

An improved hot fillable container includes a bottom and a sidewall connected with the bottom so as to define an internal space. The sidewall is shaped so as to define in transverse cross-section in at least one location a substantially circular outer circumference. The sidewall further includes first and second convex label panel portions each having a convexly curved outer surface. Advantageously, the sidewall is constructed and arranged so that deformation of the sidewall in response to a partial vacuum condition within the internal space will occur primarily in the convex label panel portions. The structure permits the hot fillable container to be constructed without the use of concave vacuum panel portions.

A blow-molded plastic container is provided suitable for hot-filling under pressurize-fill conditions, and under gravity-fill conditions. The container includes opposing handgrips within panels, which lack hinges and thus do not function as conventional vacuum panels as the inward deformation is spread beyond the panels. The hand grip includes a distal, relatively stiffened portion formed by a sidewall that forms a thumb piece and a proximal, relatively un-stiffened portion the smooth merges into a cylindrical sidewall of the container.
