Techniques for providing application-independent content translation in an electronic device are disclosed. In one embodiment, a trigger may be received to activate a first application. Upon receiving the trigger to activate the first application, the first application may be enabled to display at least one visual indicator associated with the first application on a graphical user interface associated with a second application. The first application and the second application are to simultaneously run in an electronic device and the at least one visual indicator may be superimposed on the graphical user interface. Further, content on the graphical user interface may be translated from text-to-speech or speech-to-text in response to selecting the at least one visual indicator.

Application-independent content translation

A system and method for generating a unified dynamic executable media playlist across connected endpoints for media play-out are disclosed. In one embodiment, endpoints are connected via a communication network. Each endpoint includes a media player and streamer module (MPSM). Further, a local media playlist is created, by the MPSM in each of the plurality of endpoints, using media residing in associated endpoints. Furthermore, the local media playlist is sent to one of the plurality of endpoints designated as a host by the MPSM in each of remaining endpoints. In addition, the unified dynamic executable media playlist is generated, by the MPSM in the host, by combining the received local media playlists and the local media playlist residing in the host. Also, the generated unified dynamic executable media playlist is sent, by the MPSM in the host, to each of the remaining endpoints for media play-out.

Unified dynamic executable media playlists across connected endpoints

A system and method for virtual social colocation with dynamic participation and audience among users with defined relationships are disclosed. In one embodiment, bridging of digital content and audio and/or video streams originating from one of first end points and incoming audio and/or video streams from remaining first end points is enabled on the one of the first end points. Further, first integrated audio and/or video streams and a second integrated audio and/or video stream are created based on the digital content and the audio and/or video streams originating from the one of the first end points and the incoming audio and/or video streams and sent to the remaining first end points and a virtual social colocation service (VSCS), respectively, by the one of the first end points. Also, the second integrated audio and/or video stream is broadcasted to the second end points by the VSCS.

A system, method and architecture for in-built media enabled personal collaboration on endpoints are disclosed. In one embodiment, one or more personal communication modified video communication terminals (PCMVCTs), one or more of video communication terminals (VCTs), one or more of voices over IP communication terminals (VoCTs), one or more remote servers and/or one or more clients are communicatively coupled via an IP network. Further, the PCMVCT includes a personal collaboration enabling audio/video bridging module (PCEAVBM). Furthermore, the personal collaboration between participants while providing an audio/video bridging of incoming audio/video streams from the one or more PCMVCTs, one or more of VCTs and VoCTs via the IP network is enabled by the PCEAVBM.

A platform for end point and digital content centric real-time shared experience for collaboration across endpoints is disclosed. In one embodiment, media centric collaboration terminals (MCCTs) are communicatively connected to one or more terminals selected from the group consisting of video communication terminals (VCTs), voice over Internet protocol (IP) communication terminals (VoCTs), remote servers, remote streaming clients and/or appliances, machines and gadgets (AMGs) via a communication network. Further, audio and/or video bridging of one or more audio and/or video streams originating from one of the MCCTs designated as a current host along with incoming audio and/or video streams from at least one of any remaining MCCTs designated as clients or the one or more terminals is enabled on the current host, via the communication network.

Platform for end point and digital content centric real-time shared experience for collaboration

A technique and method provide virtual N-way video conferencing to participants having IP stations/videophones, which have limited processing capacity, by auto-selecting a limited subset of the participants for video display and restricting the rest of the participants to voice-only mode which requires reduced processing capability. The method uses a virtual n-way conferencing module (VNCM) to provide the video conferencing, and an auto caller select module (ACSM) for causing selective video display. Some of the participants might have VoIP terminals instead of IP videophones. The invention includes a technique, e.g., by using a video transmission control module (VTCM) for reducing the bandwidth requirement of IP videophones by signaling the participants in voice-only mode not to transmit the video information in bandwidth-constrained situations. Also taught herein is an article comprising a storage medium having instructions thereon which when executed by a computing platform will result in execution of the method.
