A light emitting module includes a light source, a light guide member, and first and second light reflective members. The light guide member is configured to transmit light from the light source. The light guide member having an upper surface and a lower surface opposite to the upper surface. The first light reflective member is arranged on a lower surface side of the light guide member. The first light reflective member has a lower surface. The first light reflective member includes a first resin, and a first reflective body having a refractive index higher than a refractive index of the first resin. The second light reflective member is arranged on a lower surface side of the first light reflective member. The second light reflective member includes a second resin, and a second reflective body having a refractive index lower than a refractive index of the second resin.

Light emitting module and planar light source

A light-guiding member includes a plurality of light-emitting portions separated by grooves; and a plurality of light sources each corresponding to a respective one of the plurality of light-emitting portions. The plurality of light-emitting portions include a plurality of outer portions, and at least one inner portion located in a region surrounded by the plurality of outer portions in a plan view. Each of the plurality of outer portions is adjacent to a smaller number of the light-emitting portions than a number of the light-emitting portions adjacent to a single inner portion of the at least one inner portion in a plan view. An area of a single outer portion of the plurality of outer portions is smaller than an area of the single inner portion in the plan view.

Surface light source

A planar light source includes a light guide member including light-emitting units separated by a groove and one or more light sources disposed in one or more of the light-emitting units. The light-emitting units include outer portions and at least one inner portion located in a region surrounded by the outer portions in a plan view. In the plan view, at least one of the outer portions is adjacent to a smaller number of light-emitting units than a number of light-emitting units to which one of the at least one inner portion is adjacent. In a state in which the same power is supplied and one of the outer portions and one of the at least one inner portion are allowed to individually emit light, brightness of the one of the outer portions is higher than brightness of the one of the at least one inner portion.

Planar light source including a plurality of light-emitting units

A method of driving a light-emitting device includes driving the light-emitting device having a light-emitting element and a light-emitting part that contains two or more types of phosphors adapted to be excited by light emitted from the light-emitting element, the two or more types of phosphors having respectively different afterglow characteristics. The driving of the light-emitting device includes supplying a current to the light-emitting element during a conducting period including a maximum current supply period in which a maximum current in the conducting period is supplied to the light-emitting element, and subsequent to the maximum current supply period, a current reduction period in which the current supplied to the light-emitting element is reduced continuously or stepwise from the maximum current.

Light emitting module and method for driving light emitting device

A planar light source includes: a light guide member, a light source including a light-emitting element and a first light adjustment member and being disposed in a first hole of the light guide member, a first light-transmissive member disposed in the first hole between a lateral surface of the light source and the light guide member and on the light source, and a second light adjustment member disposed on the first light-transmissive member. A transmittance of the first light-transmissive member is higher than a transmittance of the first light adjustment member and a transmittance of the second light adjustment member with respect to light emitted from the light source. The first light-transmissive member includes a first light-transmissive portion 1ocated between the first light adjustment member and the second light adjustment member, and a second light-transmissive portion 1ocated between the lateral surface of the light source and the light guide member.

A light-emitting module according to an embodiment includes a plurality of light-emitting elements, light-guiding plates each having a light-exiting surface, and a wiring layer connected to electrodes of the plurality of light-emitting elements on a surface opposite to the light-exiting surface. The wiring layer includes a first terminal, a second terminal, a first wiring pattern connecting the first terminal and the second terminal, a second wiring pattern connecting the first terminal and the second terminal, a third wiring pattern disposed between the first wiring pattern and the second wiring pattern to connect the first terminal and the second terminal, a fourth wiring pattern connecting the first to third wiring patterns in parallel, the fourth wiring pattern being connected to the first terminal, and a fifth wiring pattern connecting the first to third wiring patterns in parallel, the fifth wiring pattern being connected to the second terminal.

Light-emitting module and surface-emitting light source including a plurality of wiring formations between two terminals

A light emitting device according to the present invention includes a flexible wiring board that electrically connects light emitting modules to each other. The light emitting modules include anode-side and cathode-side terminals that are arranged on their back surface and are connected to light emitting elements, which are included in their light emitting module and connected to each other in series or in parallel, in order to supply currents to light emitting elements. The wiring board has a comb shape that includes a number of comb-tooth portions extending in row or column direction of the matrix arrangement of the light emitting modules. The comb-tooth portions include an electrically-conductive pattern. The anode-side and cathode-side terminals of light emitting modules are connected to the electrically-conductive pattern of the comb-tooth portions of the wiring board.

In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the light emitting device includes a first light emitting module and a plurality of second light emitting modules. The first light emitting module includes a first side along a first direction, and a second side along the first direction. The direction from the first side to the second side is along a second direction that intersects with the first direction. The plurality of second light emitting modules are lined up along the second direction. The direction from a first emission region which includes the plurality of second light emitting modules to the first light emitting module is along the first direction. The first emission region includes a third side along the first direction and a fourth side along the first direction.
