An airbag device configured to be disposed in front of an occupant in a vehicle includes: an inflator configured to generate gas; an airbag that is folded and housed, the airbag being configured to be inflated and deployed by the gas generated by the inflator; and a holding member including an attachment portion to which the inflator is attached, and holding the folded airbag capable of being inflated and deployed from an occupant side opposite the attachment portion. The holding member includes an inhibiting portion that covers a part of the folded airbag from the occupant side and that is configured to partially inhibit initial inflation and deployment of the airbag. The inhibiting portion has a first region and a second region where inhibiting forces that inhibit the initial inflation and deployment are different from each other.

Airbag device

Provided is an airbag device that is to be mounted in a vehicle, and includes: an inflator configured to generate a gas; an airbag configured to be inflated with the gas generated by the inflator; a holding member housing the airbag in a folded state and being provided with an opening which allows inflation and deployment of the airbag therethrough; and a flap configured to restrict inflation and deployment of the airbag through the opening, the airbag including a roll folded portion being roll-folded and disposed on an occupant side, and two flip folded portions each being accordion-folded or tucked inside and disposed on a vehicle front side, the flap including a first restricting portion covering the roll folded portion and being held between the roll folded portion and the holding member, and a second restricting portion being secured to the airbag between the two flip folded portions.

There is provided an airbag device with a reduced risk of injury to an occupant in the initial inflation and deployment of an airbag. The airbag has a roll folded portion in the rear side of a vehicle thereof, and a flip folded portion in the front side of the vehicle thereof, and is surrounded by a holding member. The holding member permits inflation and deployment of the airbag only from an opening. The flap has a first restricting portion, a second restricting portion and a third restricting portion joined together in a Y shape, and restricts the inflation and deployment of the airbag. The first restricting portion covers a portion of the roll folded portion of the opening side, and is disposed between the roll folded portion and the holding member. A tip of the second restricting portion is secured to the flip folded portion. The third restricting portion is folded into the flip folded portion.

An airbag device includes: an airbag; an inflator; a gas discharge state switching member; and a tether belt which is one example of a connecting member. The gas discharge state switching member is switched over from a gas discharge state to a gas non-discharge state by being pulled into the inside of the airbag. The tether belt connects the gas discharge state switching member and a portion of an inner peripheral portion of the airbag to each other. An arranged position of the gas discharge state switching member, a position where the tether belt is connected to the inner peripheral portion of the airbag, and a passing line of the tether belt are disposed at portions which avoid a portion of the airbag which comes into contact with an occupant in a regular posture state when the airbag receives the occupant.

In an airbag inflatable inside a seating portion of a vehicle's seat, the design flexibility, in terms of shape and height, of the airbag in an inflated state is increased. An airbag device () includes an airbag () and an inflator (). The airbag () is disposed inside a seating portion of a seat and is inflated under a seated occupant. The inflator () generates gas to inflate and deploy the airbag (). The airbag () includes an upper base fabric piece (), a lower base fabric piece (), and a pair of side base fabric pieces (), which are joined to one another and form an air chamber () therein. The pair of side base fabric pieces () are disposed at part of side portions between the upper base fabric piece () and the lower base fabric piece () and define the shape of the air chamber () in an inflated state.
