A light treatment system includes: a probe configured to be inserted into a bladder, the probe including an optical fiber configured to propagate light, and a light emitter that is provided at a distal end of the optical fiber, the light emitter being configured to emit the light; and a balloon catheter into which the probe is inserted, the balloon catheter being configured to be inserted into the bladder, the balloon catheter including a distal end portion that is to be dilated in the bladder, a wall configured to divide inside of the distal end portion into two regions, and a reflector configured to reflect the light emitted by the light emitter, the reflector being provided on a surface of the wall, the surface facing a region of the two regions, the region being where the light emitter is positioned.

Light treatment system and balloon catheter

Provided is a wavelength selective switch, which includes: an input/output unit; a dispersive portion; a condensing optical system; and the deflection portion. The input/output unit has input/output ports. The dispersive portion disperses signal light incident from the input/output ports. The condensing optical system condenses a plurality of signal light beams dispersed by the dispersive portion. The deflection portion has a plurality of deflection elements. The deflection elements deflect, along a second direction, the signal light beams condensed by the condensing optical system. In the condensing optical system, the aberration amount of the meridional component in a sagittal coma aberration remains substantially constant irrespective of an angle formed between the optical axis of the condensing optical system and a signal light beam incident on the condensing optical system from the input/output portion, at an incident position of the incident signal light beam at a certain height in the second direction.

Provided is a wavelength selective switch which includes: at least one input port; a dispersive portion for dispersing wavelength-multiplexed light input from the input port into wavelength-demultiplexed lights; a condenser element for condensing the wavelength-demultiplexed lights dispersed by the dispersive portion; a deflection portion having deflection elements for deflecting, for each wavelength-demultiplexed light condensed by the condenser element; at least one output port for outputting the wavelength-demultiplexed lights deflected by the deflection portion. A light-condensing position shift compensating element is disposed in an optical path between the input port and the dispersive portion or in the dispersive portion, for compensating light-condensing position shift of the wavelength-demultiplexed lights relative to the deflection element, light-condensing position shift being generated based on the arrangement of the input ports.

A spectroscope includes an emitting portion from where light is output, a dispersive element which is disposed on a side of the light emitting portion, to which the light is output, an incidence portion on which, light dispersed by the dispersive element is incident, and a temperature-compensating element which is disposed between the emitting portion and the incidence portion, and which is such that, an angle of incidence of the light dispersed on the incidence portion becomes almost constant with respect to a change in temperature in an operating temperature range. Moreover, the optical apparatus has such spectroscope in which temperature is compensated.

Temperature compensated spectroscope and optical apparatus

The inkjet recording apparatus has a capping device for cleaning the inkjet nozzles. The capping device has an interconnected cell type porous elastic member housed in a recessed area which is connected to suction. During the cleaning operation, the porous elastic member is pressed against the surface of the nozzle such that the porous member is compressed. Suction is then started in the recess area and ink is drawn from the nozzle. By compressing the porous member, the recess area is decreased in size and good negative pressure can be obtained so as to the draw the ink from the nozzle. When the pressure ceases and the porous member is expanded, and ink is drawn from the surface of the nozzle member and soaks into the porous member. Suction is then again started to remove the ink from the recess and from the porous member.

Inkjet recording apparatus

The overlapping portions of an image composed of partial images projected on a dome-shaped screen from image projecting means are shaded in light by means of light shading mechanisms which are provided for the corresponding image projecting means. Each light shading mechanism includes at least one light shading plate with a notch formed therein, and after projection, the notch is defined by a first curved edge line corresponding to a center line of a first over-lapping portion of the overlapping portions and a second curved edge line corresponding to a center line of a second overlapping portion of the overlapping portions. As a result, the luminance of the image projected on the dome-shaped screen can be easily adjusted in the same manner as a planer screen.

An inkjet printer includes: a recording head which includes jet openings for jetting ink; a sensor for detecting a jet opening causing jetting failure among the jet openings; a sucking mechanism for sucking the ink from each jet opening; a comparing section for comparing number of the detected jet opening causing jetting failure with predetermined number; and a control section for performing a sucking process where the sucking mechanism performs a sucking operation, for performing an examination process to count the jet opening causing jetting failure by the detection of the sensor and by simulated jetting of each jet opening, for performing a comparing process where the comparing section performs a comparing operation after the examination process, and for re-performing the examination process without performing the sucking process when judged in the comparing process that the number of the jet opening causing jetting failure is more than the predetermined number.

An ink jet printer having: a main tank to store ink; a recording head to form an image on a recording medium by jetting the ink from a nozzle; an ink supply path to supply the ink to the recording head from the main tank; a sub tank to temporarily store the ink supplied from the main tank, the sub tank being provided in the middle of the ink supply path; an ink supply valve to control to supply or stop supplying the ink from the main tank to the sub tank by an opening or closing the ink supply valve, the ink supply valve being provided between the main tank and the sub tank on the ink supply path; and a control unit to measure a cumulative time in which the ink supply valve becomes an opened state, and estimate a remaining ink amount in the main tank.

An optical pick-up apparatus for reproducing information recorded on a magneto-optical record medium including a semiconductor laser emitting a linearly polarized laser beam, and a polarizing film provided between a glass prism and a uniaxial birefringent crystal prism. The laser beam emitted by the semiconductor laser is made incident upon the polarizing film via the glass prism and is reflected thereby. The apparatus further includes an objective lens projecting the laser beam reflected by the polarizing film onto the magneto-optical record medium as a fine spot and converging a return laser beam reflected by the record medium toward the polarizing film.
