Electric supercharger and supercharging system

A control system for an internal combustion engine includes an electric supercharger that includes a compressor wheel that is configured to be rotated by an electric motor. The control system includes a bypass passage, a bypass valve, and an exhaust gas recirculation passage. The control device is configured to control the electric supercharger and the bypass valve based on an operation condition of the internal combustion engine. The control device is configured to cause a stepping operation of the electric supercharger in which acceleration and stopping of the compressor wheel are repeated within a predetermined cleaning time after operation of the internal combustion engine is stopped.

Control system for internal combustion engine

There is provided an electric supercharger having a compressor including a compressor impeller, a motor housing, an electric motor rotationally driving the compressor, and a first bearing and a second bearing provided to support a shaft and a rotor in the motor housing. The first bearing is located on the compressor side of the rotor and the second bearing is located on the other side of the rotor. The motor housing includes a thermal conductive passage through which heat generated by a coil wound around a stator is transmitted to the first and second bearings. The thermal conductive passage between the coil and the first bearing is formed with a reduced thickness portion in such a way that thickness of the thermal conductive passage is reduced in a direction that is perpendicular to a direction in which the heat is transmitted through the thermal conductive passage.

A current interruption device includes: a deforming plate configured to deform when the internal pressure of the casing rises above the predetermined level; a conducting plate which configures the current path; and a contact plate. The conducting plate includes a first contact portion configured to contact the contact plate. The contact plate includes a second contact portion configured to contact the first contact portion. The deforming plate includes a pressure receiving portion configured to receive the internal pressure of the casing and a contacting portion configured to contact the first contact portion. The second contact portion is configured to be separated from the conducting plate by deformation causing the contacting portion to move toward the contact plate. The deforming plate is insulated from the conducting plate and the contact plate. The conducting plate is disposed to be interleaved between the deforming plate and the contact plate.

In a structure for mounting a filter in a compressor, a mounting member is connected to the filter. A receiving hole is formed in a housing of the compressor for receiving therein the mounting member. A first fitting portion is formed on an inner circumferential surface of a holding portion of the filter. A second fitting portion is formed on an outer circumferential surface of the mounting member for having fitting relation to the first fitting portion for an overlap distance in a radial direction of the receiving hole. When the mounting member is received in the receiving hole with the fitting relation, the filter is disposed in a fluid passage of the housing. A clearance having a dimension is formed between an outer circumferential surface of the holding portion and an inner circumferential surface of the receiving hole. Minimum value of the dimension is smaller than the overlap distance.

Structure for mounting a filter in a compressor

A displacement control valve for a variable displacement compressor. The displacement control valve includes a drive force transmission body, a pressure sensitive chamber, an internal passage, and a valve body. The valve body includes an annular seal which is contactable with a valve seat surface facing toward the first valve body. The drive force transmission body includes a drive rod and a valve body structure having a shaft passage and forming the first valve body. The drive rod is fitted to the shaft passage and coupled to the valve body structure so as to form a gap passage between an outer surface of the drive rod and a wall surface of the shaft passage. The internal passage includes a recess arranged radially inward from the annular seal, the shaft passage, and the gap passage. The gap passage is in direct communication with the recess.

Displacement control valve for variable displacement compressor

A capacity control valve includes a valve body having a first valve portion for opening/closing a discharge-side path and a second valve portion for opening/closing a suction-side path, a pressure sensitive body arranged in a third valve chamber in the middle of the suction-side path, a valve seat body provided at the pressure sensitive body, and a third valve portion connected to the valve body for opening/closing the suction-side path by engagement and disengagement with the valve seat body. One of an engagement face of the third valve portion and a seat face of the valve seat body is formed into a spherical shape with a radius of curvature R satisfying 9 mm&#x3c;R&#x3c;11 mm and the other of the engagement face of the third valve portion and the seat face of the valve seat body is formed into a tapered surface shape having a center angle &#x3b1; satisfying 120&#xb0;&#x3c;&#x3b1;&#x3c;160&#xb0;. As such, a liquid refrigerant or the like accumulating in the control chamber can be discharged efficiently, and predetermined capacity control can be carried out rapidly.

Capacity control valve

A displacement control valve () is connected to a variable displacement compressor. An open passage () in which a refrigerant gas flows is formed within a rod () and a valve body () of the displacement control valve (). Further, an inner circumferential surface of a valve chamber () is formed as a guide portion () for moving the valve body () along an axis (L) of the valve chamber (). A valve portion () of the valve body () is formed in a circular arc cross sectional shape along a surface of a sphere (K) in which an intermediate point of a length of the guide portion () along the axis (L) of the valve chamber () is set to a center (N) on the axis (L), and a distance from the center (N) to a contact point between a valve seat () and the valve portion () is set to a radius (r).

Displacement control valve of variable displacement compressor

A displacement control mechanism for a variable displacement compressor includes a first valve hole, a first valve body, a pressure sensing means operable to sense pressures of first and second points in a discharge pressure region to adjust a position of the first valve body, and a pressure-difference-increasing means operable to increase pressure difference between the first and second points when the pressure of a suction pressure region falls below a predetermined standard pressure. The pressure sensing means displaces the first valve body to increase an opening degree of the first valve hole according to increase of the pressure difference when the first valve hole is part of a supply passage. The pressure sensing means displaces the first valve body to decrease the opening degree of the first valve hole according to the increase of the pressure difference when the first valve hole is part of a bleed passage.

Displacement control mechanism for variable displacement compressor

A displacing device is incorporated in a displacement control valve. The displacing device includes a first pressure chamber, a second pressure chamber, a second bellows, a transmission rod, and an urging spring. The second pressure chamber communicates with a suction chamber. The interior of the second pressure chamber is a suction pressure zone. When the pressure in the suction pressure zone is less than or equal to a predetermined reference pressure, the transmission rod moves an actuation rod (valve body) to open a valve hole. Therefore, a variable displacement compressor is prevented from operating with a large displacement when there is insufficient amount of refrigerant or when the speed of the compressor is high.

A fluid machine is served as an expansion device and a compression device. The fluid machine compresses gas in an operation chamber upon functioning as the compression device. The fluid machine expands the gas in the operation chamber upon functioning as the expansion device. The fluid machine includes a movable discharge valve served as a differential pressure regulating valve that discharges the gas from the operation chamber when the fluid machine functions as the compression device. The discharge valve is moved to a non-operation position where the discharge valve fails to function as the differential pressure regulating valve when the fluid machine functions as the expansion device.

Fluid machine served as expansion device and compression device

In a control system of a variable displacement compressor, a pressure sensing means mechanically detects at least one pressure in the refrigerant circuit. A varying means varies a reference value for positioning a valve body. A pressure detector electrically detects the pressure detected by the pressure sensing means in the refrigerant circuit and/or physical quantity which correlates with the detected pressure. A calculator calculates a maximum value of urging force applied to the valve body by the varying means toward an increasing side of the displacement of the compressor. The urging force applied to the valve body is controlled not to exceed the maximum value toward the increasing side of the displacement. The displacement of the compressor is maximized by the pressure sensing means under the pressure for calculating the maximum value when the varying means applies urging force of the maximum value to the valve body.

Control system for variable displacement compressor

A controller for a variable displacement compressor that maintains high displacement while preventing excessive increase in discharge pressure. The controller includes a pressure sensing mechanism for detecting pressure of a suction pressure region in the compressor. A suction pressure controlling means controls the displacement of the compressor so that the pressure detected by the pressure sensing mechanism is converged to a predetermined suction pressure setting. A sensor detects pressure of a discharge pressure region in the compressor. A discharge pressure controlling means controls the displacement of the compressor so that the pressure detected by the sensor is converged to a predetermined discharge pressure setting. When the pressure detected by the sensor is greater than a threshold pressure, an ECU switches the control of the compressor from control with the suction pressure controlling means to control with the discharge pressure controlling means.

Controller for variable displacement compressor and control method for the same

An apparatus for controlling a variable displacement compressor has an information detector and a controller. The information detector detects information about the thermal load on the refrigeration circuit. The controller determines a target value that reflects the displacement of the compressor based on the information about the thermal load detected by the information detector, and outputs the target value as a command value. When determining that the compressor is in a heavy load state based on information about a load on the compressor, the controller changes the command value to a value that causes the displacement of the compressor to become smaller than a displacement that corresponds to the determined target value.
