A color image processing system is provided which receives binary image data from an external device, which generates the binary image data, so as to form color images. This system has a first mode in which a receiving side receives the same binary image signal color plane by color plane so that a color process is performed. It also has a second mode in which a printer receives binary image data in a plane sequence, which data indicates color planes corresponding to the types of coloring materials used for a printing operation of the printer, and then, the printer performs binary printing in accordance with the binary image data. An indicating device for indicating the first or second mode selects the first or second mode with respect to the binary image data from the external unit.

System for processing a color image

An image processing system includes a printer engine (3) corresponding to one or both of binary and multi-value data, and a plurality of memory devices (1a, 1b) for storing bit map data and supplying a binary or multi-value video signal to the printer engine, and an interface (7) for connecting the plurality of memory devices (1a, 1b) to the engine (3). Binary or multi-value data is read out from an arbitrary memory device, two different binary data, two different multi-value data, or binary data and multi-value data are synthesized, and the synthesized data is printed. Processing, which is conventionally performed by a single memory device, can be separately performed by the plurality of memory devices, thus increasing the processing speed. Various processing operations such as binary-multi-value synthesizing processing can easily be performed.

Image processing system which synthesizes a generated first image signal

An image processing apparatus is constructed by: an input device to input a command; a first communicating unit to communicate with a first external device; a second communicating unit to communicate with a second external device; a managing unit to manage the communicating units in correspondence to the external devices; a storage unit to store a plurality of image data in correspondence to image types of the image data; a color space converting unit to automatically color space convert on the basis of the image type corresponding to the image data stored in the storage unit and the external device which is set on the basis of the command; an output unit to output the image data whose color space was converted by the color space converting unit to the external device set on the basis of the command; and an automatic recognizing unit to automatically recognize the external devices by communicating with each of the first and second external devices by using the first and second communicating units.

Image processing apparatus with color-space conversion

An electronic apparatus which writes information into a storage device which includes directory and data parts. The apparatus has retrieval means for retrieving file names from the directory part and control means which checks a retrieved file name to see whether information is terminated improperly in the data portion corresponding to the file name; and if the data is not terminated normally, the control means prohibits the writing of new information in that data part.
