An object of the present invention is to provide a film for a capacitor such that the film excels in high-temperature dielectric breakdown voltage (high-temperature BDV) and has blocking resistance, and bleeding-out of, for instance, a nucleating agent is suppressed even after long-term storage. The present invention pertains to a multilayer polypropylene film for a capacitor, the film including a base layer composed of a propylene polymer composition containing a propylene homopolymer (X) and 0.0001 to 0.05 mass % of a polymer-based α-crystal nucleating agent (C), and a front layer or a back layer composed of a propylene-based polymer (Y) on at least one surface of the base layer, wherein the base layer and the front layer or back layer are stretched.

[Solution] Polypropylene for a microporous film satisfying the following requirements (1) and (2): (1) the weight-average molecular weight (Mw) value, as determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), is not less than 100,000 but less than 800,000, the value (Mw/Mn) obtained by dividing the weight-average molecular weight by the number-average molecular weight is more than 7.0 but not more than 12.0, and the value (Mz/Mw) obtained by dividing the Z-average molecular weight by the weight-average molecular weight is not less than 3.8 but not more than 9.0, and (2) the mesopentad fraction, as measured byC-NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance method), is not less than 95.5%.

Polypropylene for microporous film

A polypropylene for a film capacitor or a polypropylene sheet for a film capacitor which exhibits excellent stretchability when stretched into a film and provides a film having high breakdown voltage and small thermal shrinkage ratio, and which is suitable for a polypropylene film for a film capacitor and a film capacitor comprising the film. The polypropylene for a film capacitor of the present invention is obtained by irradiating a propylene homopolymer with a radiation with an absorbed dose of 0.1 to 500 kGy, the propylene homopolymer having (1) a melt flow rate (MFR) within a range of 1 to 10 g/10 min as determined at 230&#xb0; C. under a load of 2.16 kg in accordance with ASTM D1238, (2) an isotactic pentad fraction (mmmm fraction) of not less than 94% as determined usingC-NMR, (3) an ash amount of not more than 30 ppm as obtained by completely burning the propylene homopolymer in air, and (4) a chlorine amount of not more than 10 ppm as determined by ion chromatography.

[Solution] A propylene homopolymer of the present invention for capacitors satisfies the following requirements (i) to (v) and (ix): (i) the MFR is 1 to 10 g/10 minutes; (ii) the meso pentad fraction (mmmm) measured byC-NMR is 0.940 to 0.995; (iii) the integrted amount of elution at 90&#xb0; C. by CFC using o-dichlorobenzene is 0.5% by weight or less; (iv) the melting point measured using DSC is 152&#xb0; C. or more; (v) the chlorine content is 2 ppm by weight or less; and (ix) in an elution temperature-elution volume curve measured by cross-fractionation chromatography (CFC) using o-dichlorobenzene, the maximum peak has a peak top temperature in the range of 105&#xb0; C. to 130&#xb0; C. and half width of 7.0&#xb0; C. or less.

The present invention is a polyoxyalkylene polyol, its manufacture method, and derivatives, wherein: it is obtained using a phosphazenium compound as a catalyst; the hydroxyl value is 2&tilde;200 mgKOH/g; total degree of unsaturation is 0.0001&tilde;0.07 meq./g; the head-to-tail bond selectivity of the polyoxyalkylene polyol is 95 mole %; and when the maximum height of the peak of GPC elution curve is set to be 100%, W,is defined as the peak width at the 20% peak height, and W,is defined as the peak width at 80% peak height, the ratio of W,/W,is 1.5 or greater, and less than 3.

A polypropylene resin composition is herein disclosed which is obtainable by blending (A) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin comprising (a) 100 to 20% by weight of a homopolymer of propylene and/or a propylene copolymer containing 4% by weight or less of another olefin unit in which in a pentad fraction by .sup.13 C-NMR, [rrrr/(1-mmmm)].times.100 is in the range of 20 to 60%, a Tm measured by a DSC is 150.degree. C. or more, and a melt enthalpy is 100 J/g or less, and (b) 0 to 80% by weight of a propylene copolymer containing 10 to 80% by weight of an olefin unit other than propylene, with (B.) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of an octyltin salt of a fatty acid, an alkylenebisfatty acid amide, a fatty acid ester of a polyvalent alcohol, or a metal salt of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. The employment of this polypropylene resin composition permits, under a good moldability by the calender molding machine, the manufacture of films and sheets having less thickness unevenness, excellent appearance and heat resistance and such flexibility as in molded articles of a plastic polyvinyl chloride.

A polypropylene resin composition is herein disclosed which is obtainable by blending (A) 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene resin comprising (a) 100 to 20% by weight of a homopolymer of propylene and/or a propylene copolymer containing 4% by weight or less of another olefin unit in which in a pentad fraction by .sup.13 C-NMR, �rrrr/(1-mmmm)!.times.100 is in the range of 20 to 60%, a Tm measured by a DSC is 150.degree. C. or more, and a melt enthalpy is 100 J/g or less, and (b) 0 to 80% by weight of a propylene copolymer containing 10 to 80% by weight of an olefin unit other than propylene, with (B) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of an octyltin salt of a fatty acid, an alkylenebisfatty acid amide, a fatty acid ester of a polyvalent alcohol, or a metal salt of an aliphatic monocarboxylic acid. The employment of this polypropylene resin composition permits, under a good moldability by the calender molding machine, the manufacture of films and sheets having less thickness unevenness, excellent appearance and heat resistance and such flexibility as in molded articles of a plastic polyvinyl chloride.
