A height error of a workpiece holding portion is detected based on a height from a mounting pedestal side floor surface, on which a mounting pedestal is mounted, to a connection point between the workpiece holding portion and an arm unit at a point in time at which contact with a detection target is detected by a surface detection sensor, a height from the mounting pedestal side floor surface to a surface of the detection target, and a theoretical value of a height of the workpiece holding portion, and an actual loading height of a workpiece mounted on the mounting pedestal is detected in consideration of the height error of the workpiece holding portion.

Workpiece transport system and workpiece transport method

A pattern matching unit carries out a pattern matching between a photographed image obtained by photographing a workpiece with a monocular camera and a first plurality of models having a plurality of sizes and a plurality of angles, and selects a model having a size and an angle with the highest degree of matching. A primary detection unit detects a position and an angle of an uppermost workpiece based on the selected model. An actual load height calculation unit calculates an actual load height of the uppermost workpiece based on a hand height. A secondary detection unit re-detects the position and the angle of the uppermost workpiece based on a model having a size and an angle with the highest degree of matching selected by carrying out a pattern matching between the photographed image and a second plurality of models selected or newly created based on the actual load height.

Workpiece detection device and workpiece detection method

A camera is located at a position deviated from directly above a center of a placement location of a workpiece. When a photographed image is generated by photographing, with the camera, the placement location at which the workpiece is placed, an image processing device specifies, by using a preliminarily determined conversion parameter, to which pixels in the photographed image two-dimensional coordinates within a photographed three-dimensional space correspond, aligns the specified pixels corresponding to the respective coordinates in a two-dimensional manner, and generates a corrected photographed image in which a trapezoidal distortion in the photographed image is corrected. A robot control device detects a position of the workpiece at the placement location based on the corrected photographed image, and controls a workpiece retention robot so as to retain the workpiece and transport the workpiece to a processing machine.

In a bending system and a method for using the same, the bending system includes a bending robot provided between a press brake and a predetermined setting area that is arranged in front of the press brake to assist in bending a workpiece. The bending robot includes a robot hand for holding the workpiece on a pallet that is set in the predetermined setting area. An image pickup unit, which picks up an image of the workpiece on the pallet from an oblique upper direction, is provided above and anterior to the predetermined setting area. A first illumination unit, which illuminates an image pickup area of the image pickup unit, is erected on a left front side of the predetermined setting area. A second illumination stand, which illuminates the image pickup area of the image pickup unit, is erected on a right front side of the predetermined setting area.
