Provided is a hydrogen separation filter allowing a hydrogen purification at a lower temperature than conventional one, and a method for manufacturing the same. A hydrogen separation filter includes a porous substrate, a lattice expansion layer formed on the porous substrate and containing a first material, and a hydrogen dissociation and transmission layer formed on the lattice expansion layer and containing a second material selected from the group consisting of Pd, V, Ta, Ti, Nb, and alloys thereof. The first material and the second material have a same crystalline structure. A lattice constant aof a first bulk material having a same composition and a same crystalline structure as the first material and a lattice constant aof a second bulk material having a same composition and a same crystalline structure as the second material satisfy a formula (1):1.03≤1.15  (1).

Hydrogen separation filter and method for manufacturing hydrogen separation filter

A fuel cell according to the present disclosure includes separatorsandmade of metal and having projection-depression shapes, and gas diffusion layersand. Conductive particlesare buried in a projecting part on one surface of each of the separatorsand, and carbon fibersare buried in a projecting part on the other surface of each of the separatorsand. The projecting parts on the one surfaces of the separatorsandabut against each other so that the conductive particlesburied in these projecting parts come into contact with each other. Further, the projecting parts on the other surfaces of the separatorsandabut against the gas diffusion layersand, respectively, so that the carbon fibersburied in these projecting parts come into contact with the gas diffusion layersand, respectively.

Fuel cell and method for manufacturing separator for fuel cell including conductive particles and carbon fibers buried in projecting parts

The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a fuel cell separator, including: a preparation step of preparing a metallic base material having a passive film on at least one part of a surface thereof; and a titanium oxide film formation step of subjecting the surface of the metallic base material to atmospheric pressure plasma treatment using first spraying means for spraying a titanium-containing starting material solution together with argon gas under a 85% to 92.5% by volume nitrogen atmosphere in a chamber. The present disclosure also relates to a device for producing a fuel cell separator having: conveying means for conveying a metallic base material having a passive film on at least one part of a surface thereof; a treatment chamber in which the metallic base material conveyed by the conveying means is disposed so as to be capable of passing therein under a 85% to 92.5% by volume nitrogen atmosphere; and first spraying means for spraying a titanium-containing starting material solution together with argon gas to carry out atmospheric pressure plasma treatment, which is disposed in the passage direction of the metallic base material in the treatment chamber.

Method and device for producing fuel cell separator

A fuel cell separator having high corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity is provided. This fuel cell separator includes, on a substrate, an antimony-doped tin oxide film having an alkyl group substituted with at least one fluorine atom, in which an element ratio of fluorine to tin (F/Sn) in the film is 3 or more and 7 or less.

A surface treatment method of a fuel cell separator capable of suppressing temperature unevenness of the fuel cell separator is provided. In the surface treatment method, an antimony-doped tin oxide (ATO) film is formed on a surface of a fuel cell separator (W) used for a fuel cell. The fuel cell separator (W) is heated using a high-frequency induction heating method (S). By spraying solution (L) including antimony and tin onto the fuel cell separator (W), the ATO film is caused to be formed on the surface of the fuel cell separator (W) (S).

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a fuel cell separator having a low contact resistance due to a tin oxide film and having an excellent corrosion resistance. An embodiment is a method for manufacturing a fuel cell separator including a stainless steel substrate. The method includes forming the tin oxide film on a surface of the stainless steel substrate; and attaching phosphoric acid or phosphate to at least a defective portion in the tin oxide film.

A means for imparting low contact resistance and excellent corrosion resistance under highly corrosive environments, such as environments in the presence of a fluoride ion, to a separator for fuel batteries includes a separator for fuel batteries including a metal base material and a tin oxide film formed on a surface of the metal base material, in which the tin oxide film is tin oxide containing zirconium, and an element ratio of zirconium to tin (Zr/Sn) is in a range of 0.10 to 0.70.
