A transmission apparatus includes a video obtainer configured to obtain a video signal, a first converter configured to convert the video signal into an electrical signal complying with a high definition multimedia interface (HDMI (registered trademark)) standard, a second converter configured to convert the video signal into an optical signal, and a signal processor configured to perform at least one of the conversion using the first converter and the conversion using the second converter with respect to the obtained video signal.

Transmission device, reception device, cable, transmission method, and reception method

A cable assembly includes a cable, a connector that is provided at an end of the cable in a direction in which the cable extends, a plurality of electric transmission lines configured to transmit an electric signal, and a plurality of optical transmission lines configured to transmit an optical signal. The plurality of electric transmission lines and the plurality of optical transmission lines are provided in the cable assembly so as to extend across the cable and the connector. The plurality of optical transmission lines are provided so that at least one of the plurality of optical transmission lines is provided at each of ends of the cable assembly in a width direction perpendicular to the direction in which the cable extends. The plurality of electric transmission lines are provided inside the plurality of optical transmission lines in the width direction.

Cable assembly

An AV signal input/output system includes an AV signal output device, an AV signal input device, and a cable which connects between the devices. The AV signal output device includes an existing interface, an optical interface, a selection output controller which selects existing interface differential signals or optical output signals, and outputs an AV signal, and an information identification unit which reads out information of the connected destination of a connector through existing interface signal lines. The information identification unit includes an optical information identification unit which identifies optical information. The AV signal input device includes an existing interface, an optical interface, a selection input controller which selects existing interface differential signals or optical input signals, and outputs an AV signal, and information storage which causes a connector to read out information through existing interface signal lines. The information storage includes optical information storage.

AV signal output device, AV signal input device, and AV signal input/output system

A connector includes a receptacle connectable to the conventional plug being compliant with an HDMI specification, and a plug connectable to the receptacle. The receptacle includes a tubular body forming a holding space that enables insertion of the conventional plug, a first recessed part forming a space that narrows heading from the holding space in an insertion direction of the plug, and a first transmission body having, as an end of an optical transmission line, a first end that is disposed to be exposed to the inserted plug. The plug includes an insertion part shaped to be insertable into the tubular body, a first projection that projects from the insertion part in the insertion direction and can fit into the first recessed part, and a second transmission body having, as an end of an optical transmission line, a second end that is disposed to face the first end.

Connector, receptacle, and plug

An AV signal transmission and receiving system capable of appropriately receiving an AV signal includes a source apparatus and a sink apparatus connected to the source apparatus via an HDMI (registered trademark) cable. The sink apparatus includes: an AV signal receiving unit which receives an AV signal via the HDMI cable; a memory which holds the EDID; a rewriting unit which rewrites the EDID; an HPD control unit which controls output of an HPD signal; and a determining unit which: determines whether the AV signal which has been received is an HDMI signal conforming to an HDMI standard or a digital visual interface (DVI) signal; and when the determining unit determines that the AV signal is a DVI signal, instructs the rewriting unit to rewrite the EDID and instructs the HPD control unit to output the HPD signal indicating that reading of the EDID which has been rewritten is possible.

AV signal transmission and receiving system, sink apparatus, AV signal transmission and receiving method, and AV signal receiving method

A fixing device is provided with a fixing unit for fixing a toner image; a magnetic flux generator including a switching element for generating a magnetic flux; and a control unit for performing a start-up mode for raising the temperature of the fixing unit to a fixing temperature by the magnetic flux and a steady mode for maintaining the temperature of the fixing unit at the fixing temperature. The control unit turns off the switching element when the temperature of the switching element is equal to or higher than a first reference temperature lower than a destruction temperature during a period of the start-up mode, and turns off the switching element when the temperature of the switching element is equal to or higher than a second reference temperature lower than the destruction temperature and higher than the first reference temperature during a period of the steady mode.

Fixing device and image forming apparatus with the same

In a reception verifying mode, a data transmitting section (S) transmits prescribed data through a transmission interface (S), and a controller () exchanges prescribed information and verifies an operation status of a device () to be verified through the transmission interface. In a transmission verifying mode, a data receiving section (R) receives prescribed data through a reception interface (R), and the controller exchanges prescribed information and verifies an operation status of a device to be verified through a reception interface. A digital signal receiver comprises a signal separating section (), a clock signal generating section (), a video data processing section (), an audio data processing section (), and a control section (). The clock signal generating section () generates an operation clock signal () for the signal separating section (), the video data processing section (), and the audio data processing section (). The control section () pauses the signal separating section (), the video data processing section (), and the audio data processing section () until receiving a clock stability signal () indicating that the operation clock signal () is stable, the clock stability signal () being generated by the clock signal generating section ().

Digital signal receiver and method for controlling the same

A video signal processor for processing input video data in accordance with an input clock signal includes: an input section for changing the format of the video data and outputting resultant data; a logic section for decoding the data output from the input section and outputting decoded data; and a frequency detector for detecting that the clock signal has a frequency higher than a given frequency and outputting a result of the detection as a detection signal. When the frequency of the clock signal is higher than the given frequency, operation of at least part of circuits constituting the video signal processor is stopped in accordance with the detection signal.

Video signal processor capable of suppressing excessive heat generation, method using the same, display device and method using the same

An audio information detector extracts frequency information on audio data from a packet called an ASP in the HDMI standard and outputs the extracted frequency information to a frequency divider as audio information. The frequency divider determines a frequency division ratio based on the audio information, divides the frequency of a PLL clock signal output from an analog PLL circuit by the frequency division ratio and outputs the resultant signal as a comparison clock signal. The analog PLL circuit performs feedback control such that the comparison clock signal and a reference clock signal are synchronized with each other, and generates an audio clock signal obtained by performing frequency multiplication or division on the reference clock signal.

Audio processor

In a data output control apparatus, a data replacement unit performs replacement of information packets so as to reflect the contents of a partial TS after the transfer status thereof has changed, and outputs a replacement signal as information relating to the replaced packet data to a controller. Therefore, the controller for controlling the data replacement unit can continuously recognize the status of replacement of packet data, and becomes able to change the respective information tables according to the operation of the partial TS, thereby realizing dynamic change while maintaining the continuity of the respective tables in the partial TS.

Data output control apparatus

When the temperature of a fixing roller detected by a temperature detecting section is less than a predetermined fixing temperature, and a determining portion determines that an image forming unit forms a color image, a control portion stops electric power supply from an electric double layer capacitor to a second fixing heater and allows a commercial power source to supply electric power to a first fixing heater to heat the fixing roller. When the determining portion determines that the image forming unit forms a monochromatic image, the control portion allows the commercial power source to supply electric power to the first fixing heater to heat the fixing roller and allows the electric double layer capacitor to supply electric power to the second fixing heater to heat the fixing roller.

Image forming apparatus

In a semiconductor integrated circuit, a detection confirmation circuit sets the logical level of a second signal according to the logical level of a first signal observed after a lapse of a predetermined time since detection of insertion/removal of a cable for peripheral equipment. The semiconductor integrated circuit operates in a standby mode in which only the insertion/removal detection circuit operates if no cable for peripheral equipment is connected, in a repeater mode in which only PHY operates if a cable for peripheral equipment is connected and CPU is in the suspended state, and in a normal mode in which both PHY and LINK operate if a cable for peripheral equipment is connected and a CPU is in the operating state.

Semiconductor integrated circuit and electronic equipment

In a transmitting section for a video signal transmitting/receiving system for transmitting digital video signals using a plurality of transmission channels, video guard band signals are inserted into video signals associated with the transmission channels immediately before transition from a blanking region to an effective video region. In a receiving section for the system, the inserted video guard band signals are detected for the respective transmission channels. A skew among the transmission channels is detected based on the detection result. To synchronize the video guard band signals among all the transmission channels, with reference to one of the video signals associated with a transmission channel with the longest delay (i.e., delayed by one clock cycleT), a delay ofT is given to the other video signals. As a result, even if a skew occurs among the transmission channels, correct pixel data is displayed.
