Provided is a photomultiplier tube including: a container including a window portion formed of a light-transmitting material, and a tubular portion that is connected to the window portion and defines a vacuum space in combination with the window portion; a photoelectric surface that is formed of a photoelectron-emitting material consisting of sodium, potassium, and antimony, is provided on a first surface of the window portion on a side of the vacuum space, and emits photoelectrons in correspondence with incident light; and an electron multiplier that emits secondary electrons in correspondence with incidence of the photoelectrons emitted from the photoelectric surface, and multiplies the secondary electrons. An aluminum oxide layer is formed between the photoelectric surface and the window portion and on a surface of the tubular portion.

A method for calibrating a CNC processing apparatus is provided that can significantly reduce the amount of operation time required for sensor calibration. A method of the present invention for calibrating a non-contact sensor in a CNC processing apparatusincludes a first step, a second step and a third step. In the first step, the center coordinates of a reference instrument are measured with a contact probe and thereby the machine coordinates of the center of the reference instrument are determined. In the second step, after a non-contact sensoris mounted onto a spindle, the center coordinates of the reference instrument are measured only one time with the non-contact sensor, and thereby the non-contact sensor coordinates of the center of the reference instrument are determined. In the third step, calculations are made to determine the amount of displacement required to bring the non-contact sensor coordinates obtained in the second step into agreement with the machine coordinates obtained with the contact probe in the first step.

Method for calibrating CNC processing apparatus

Provided is a three-dimensional measurement device applicable to a machining machine. A sensor head contains a body and a collet chuck. A light emitting window and a light receiving window are provided on the front end of the body. A non-contact sensor is incorporated in the body. Laser light emitted by the non-contact sensor is radiated onto a workpiece through the light emitting window. Laser light reflected from the surface of the workpiece is received by the light receiving window. A collet chuck is attached to the rear end of the body. The collet chuck has the same shape as a collet chuck provided by each tool housed in a tool magazine of a machining center.

Fuel cell system

A non-contact laser triangulation scanning apparatus for generating a three-dimensional image of the surface of an object based on the 3D surface position and surface contrast information. The apparatus comprises a laser source, a first optical unit, a second optical unit, a photosensitive positional detector having a plurality of sensor elements, and an incident light measurement device. According to generated timing signals having a predetermined time interval, a reset timing of the sensor elements of the photosensitive positional detector is controlled. The incident light measurement device measures an amount of a certifying laser light after one timing signal. An amount of a measurement laser light is determined dependent on the measured amount of the certifying laser light. The three-dimensional image is generated by combining position data derived from signals of the positional detector with contrast data derived at least from signals of the incident light measurement device.

The present invention relates a method for manufacturing ligneous material, characterized in comprising the steps of acetylating wood elements selected from among wood pieces crushed from lumber, thin wood plates peeled from lumber, and wood fiber obtained by means of defibrating lumber, such that the degree of acetylation (weight percent gain) is 7% or greater, and preferably 7 to 18%; and binding the resultant aceylated wood elements, using a binder containing polyisocyanate. Thereby, it is possible to provide inexpensive ligneous material which exhibits only minor dimensional changes from moisture, wherein only a small amount of formaldehyde is released.

Settings of a table as to correspondence between performance parts and tracks can be changed as desired through operation by a user. If the settings of the table have been changed when a visual performance guide is to be provided for a given performance part, the changed settings are automatically referred to so that performance data of a particular track related with the given performance part is selected and used for the performance guide. Namely, whenever the settings of the table are changed, corresponding relationship between tracks and performance parts can be newly set in an automatic fashion, so that it is possible to eliminate a need for a user to repeat a same cumbersome changing operation each time an automatic performance is to be initiated.

Apparatus for and method of setting correspondence between performance parts and tracks

A data select apparatus is constructed for selecting a desired data item. In the apparatus, an internal memory device memorizes a first set of data items. A peripheral device is provided for accessing an external memory medium. A detector device presents a detection signal when the peripheral device receives the external memory medium for accessing and when the received external memory medium stores a second set of data items upon accessing. A controller device responds to the detection signal for merging the first set of data items retrieved from the internal memory device and the second set of data items retrieved from the external memory medium with each other and for sorting the merged data items in a predetermined order. A display device operates upon presence of the detection signal for displaying both of the first and second sets of the data items in the predetermined order, and operates upon absence of the detection signal for displaying only the first set of data items. Manufacturing method for a wood board

A karaoke amplifier is constructed for amplifying an audio signal to sound a karaoke performance while processing the audio signal according to a value of a control parameter to acoustically control the karaoke performance. An analog operating member is manually operable to set an initial analog value of the control parameter. An analog/digital converter converts the initial analog value into a corresponding initial digital value. A receiver receives correction data from an external data source. A memory memorizes the received correction data. A calculator arithmetically treats the initial digital value according to the correction data retrieved from the memory to calculate a corrected value of the control parameter. A signal processor processes the audio signal according to the corrected value of the control parameter and amplifies the processed audio signal to sound the karaoke performance which is acoustically modified according to the corrected value of the control parameter.
