There is provided a sealed battery having excellent corrosion resistance and sealing performance. The sealed batteryincludes a battery jacket canhaving a bottom and being in a cylindrical or polyhedral shape. The battery jacket canalso serves as a collector of one of the electrodes. The battery jacket canhas an opening pointing upwards and accommodates active parts (and). The opening is sealed by a sealing partthat includes a flat metal sealing plate, a gasketmade of an insulator, and a terminal partof the other electrode. In the sealing part, the terminal part is attached to the sealing plateusing the gasket. The sealing plate has a planar shape that matches a shape of the opening of the battery jacket can. The sealing plate is in a saucer shape whose edge section is bent upwards. An upper end of the edge section of the sealing plate is laser-welded to an upper end of the battery jacket can while the sealing plate being inserted inside the opening of the battery jacket can. The battery jacket can is made of ferritic stainless steel to which Tin (Sn) is added.

A spirally-wound lithium battery includes: a bottomed cylindrical cell can doubling as an anode current collector; and a strip-shaped electrode body including an anode and a cathode arranged faced each other via a separator, the anode including an anode active material of lithium metal or alloy, the cell can being sealed, with a non-aqueous organic electrolyte, containing the electrode body wound in a longitudinal direction, the electrode body being wound from a winding axis side around the axis in a vertical direction, an extending direction of a cell can cylindrical axis, such that the anode is arranged at an outermost circumference, the electrode body is attached with a conductor, continuously extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, on an outer circumferential surface of the anode, from a winding end of the anode to an area thereof opposed to an inner surface of the cathode on its winding end side.

Non-aqueous organic electrolytic solutionfor lithium primary batteryhaving a cathode active material which is manganese dioxide and an anode active material which is either of lithium or lithium alloy includes a base electrolytic solution that is composed of organic solvent and supporting electrolyte and to which either one of hydroxyphthalimide or hydroxyphthalimide derivative is added as an additive. An amount of the additive which is added to the base electrolytic solution is 0.1 wt % or more and 5.0 wt % or less. It is more preferable that the amount of the additive which is added to the base electrolytic solution is 0.1 wt % or more and 1.0 wt % or less.
