When a knob is operated, operating force is exerted on an operating point Pof the manual switch and an operating point Pof the automatic switch from a pusher, and thus the manual switch and the automatic switch are pushed and turned on sequentially. In this case, since the height H of the pusher is set '0.9 times' or more of the distance Lfrom the operating point Pof the manual switch to the operating point Pof the automatic switch, the pusher has a vertically long shape. As a result, the operating force of the knob is influenced by the friction when the automatic switch is pushed and turned on. Therefore, the manual switch and the automatic switch can be pushed and turned on sequentially while using the automatic switch having small self-holding force F.

Switch device

A power window apparatus includes an operation switch for causing a window glass to move when operated. The operation switch generates an input signal having a ground level when operated. A microcomputer drives a motor in response to an input signal. A down terminal and an up terminal are used to connect the operation switch and the microcomputer to each other. A ground terminal is used to connect the operation switch and ground to each other. A battery terminal is used to connect the operation switch and a power supply to each other. When operated, the operation switch connects the down terminal or the up terminal to the ground terminal and generates an input signal having the ground level in the down terminal or the up terminal. When not operated, the operation switch connects the down terminal and the up terminal to the power supply terminal.

Power window apparatus

A power window apparatus that inhibits leakage current when submerged in water. The power window apparatus includes an operation switch. A microcomputer controls a motor. A connector has a down terminal and an up terminal connecting the operation switch and the microcomputer, and a ground terminal used to connect the operation switch and the ground. When operated, the operation switch connects the down terminal or the up terminal to the ground terminal and generates a low-level input signal in the down terminal or in the up terminal. The microcomputer drives the motor in response to the low-level input signal. An inhibition mechanism arranged in the connector inhibits, when water enters into the connector, a leakage current from flowing between a connecting terminal and a ground terminal.

A switch device having a reduced number of components while reducing the difference between the forces required to operate switches in different directions. The switch device includes a first switch, a second switch, a button, and a pusher. Inclination of the button in the first direction to a first operation position solely activates the first switch. Further inclination of the button in the first direction to a second operation position activates the second switch in addition to the first switch. Inclination of the button in the second direction to a third operation position solely activates the second switch. Further inclination of the button in the second direction to a fourth operation position activates the first switch in addition to the second switch.

Two-step switch device

A fitting groove 46 comprised of a first groove 48 and a second groove 50 is formed in a holder connected to an operation knob. As a pin 54 of a shaft 52 is inserted in the fitting groove 46, the shaft 52 is connected to a holder 24, i.e., the operation knob. As a result, even in a shift-lock state in which the axial movement of the shaft 52 is prevented, it is possible to carry out without trouble the operation of selecting a shift position N, D, or 2 by the rotation of the holder 24 as well as the operation of selecting a shift position L involving the rotation and axial movement of the holder 24. In addition, it is possible to set a multiplicity of shift positions which are selected by the holder 24.

Shift-operation apparatus for automatic transmission

A heater control unit of a dial type installed on an instrument panel and functioning as an operation portion of an air conditioner equipped in an automobile. The first bevel gear is integral with the shaft coupled with a dial. The first and second supports are integral with the base member. The first support is sectionally crank-shaped and the upper support wall thereof is disposed at the outside of the lower support wall with respect to the second support. The upper support wall has an approximately semi-circular upper support surface for receiving a portion of the shaft upper than the axis thereof, and the lower support wall has an approximately semi-circular lower support surface for receiving a portion of the shaft lower than the axis thereof. The distance between the inner surface of the lower support wall of the first support and the inner surface of the second support is longer than the distance between an end surface at the second support side of the shaft and an end surface at the first support side of the first bevel gear. The distance between the inner surface of the upper support wall of the first support and the inner surface of the second support is shorter than the entire length of the shaft.

A heater control assembly has a transmission mechanism including a first bevel gear rotatable together with a rotary knob, a second bevel gear engaging with the first bevel gear, a first spur gear rotatable together with the second bevel gear, and a second spur gear engaging with the first spur gear. The lever has one end connected with the cable and the other end which is fixed on the second spur gear so that the lever may swing in accordance with rotation of the second spur gear to pull and push the cable.
