A driver monitoring device includes: a processor; and a memory. The memory stores instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the driver monitoring device to perform operations including: detecting an unbalanced posture of a driver based on an image of a driver's seat; determining whether the unbalanced posture is a habitual unbalanced posture of the driver; calculating an opening degree of at least one eye of the driver based on the image in a case in which it is determined that the unbalanced posture is other than the habitual unbalanced posture; determining whether it is a timing to give a notification in a case in which the vehicle is traveling and the opening degree is equal to or larger than a first threshold; and giving the notification to the driver in a case in which it is determined that it is the timing to give the notification.

An underwater observation apparatus includes an observation apparatus body, a weight structure, a coupling device, and a fusion cutting device. The observation apparatus body is configured to house at least a power source, a communication circuit for a communication device, and a signal processing device. The coupling device couples the observation apparatus body with the weight structure via a remote-controlled release structure capable of releasing the observation apparatus body from the weight structure. The underwater observation apparatus also includes a power feeding coil located inside of a glass sphere to generate magnetic flux, and a power receiving coil located outside of the glass sphere. The power receiving coil generates an induced voltage when interlinked by the magnetic flux generated by the power feeding coil. The power receiving coil is configured to supply drive power to the fusion cutting device.

Responding to the comparison output signal of the comparator and a clock signal of a clock generating unit, the controller generates a multi-bit digital compensation value according to a predetermined search algorithm, and the bias control unit of the second detector is feedback-controlled.

In an image reading apparatus using a solid state image pickup element, a smear amount and the total received light amount at whole image taking region of the CCD linear sensor when a light source is turned on without film, are measured and calculated. Using a ratio of the total received light amount when a light source is turned on without film to the one at the time of image reading, a smear correction data of each line is calculated for correction processing.

When data to be output in accordance with a predetermined protocol and attached information of the data are input in setting output conditions of an output apparatus capable of setting a plurality of output parameters, information concerning output of the data is detected from the attached information. An output parameter is selected in accordance with the detected information, and the data is converted in accordance with the selected output parameter. This reduces operations by a user, so an appropriate output corresponding to the data can be obtained without any expert knowledge. This invention is applicable to, e.g., an output system for printing medical images.

A printhead including plural groups of nozzles, which are provided for plural types of ink and each group of nozzles consists of a plurality of nozzles corresponding to one type of ink, is used to print a pixel with dots which are formed with plural types of ink. For the plural groups of nozzles in the printhead, a per-nozzle density table, indicative of a print density for each nozzle constituting the group of nozzles, is provided. With respect to a pixel of interest, a nozzle to be driven for discharge is determined, and a print density of the pixel of interest is calculated with reference to the per-nozzle density table. Based on the calculated print density of the pixel and a print density of the pixel designated by image data, error diffusion processing is performed. Density unevenness in the nozzles is corrected in this manner to achieve high-quality image forming.
