A standing wave attenuation device is installed in a cabin of a vehicle so as to reduce a standing wave caused by external noise such as road noise. The standing wave attenuation device provides a closed loop including a feedback comb filter with a feedback loop, a microphone, a speaker, and a delay element. The delay element adjusts the phase of the output signal of the feedback comb filter such that the time needed for one-time circulation of a signal through the feedback loop matches a half period of the standing wave. An original sound including the standing wave is picked up by the microphone and subjected to processing so that the speaker produces a sound wave with the inverse phase against the phase of a sound wave constituting the standing wave, so that the standing wave is canceled out by the sound wave emitted from the speaker.

A talk deciding system includes a receiving portion which receives far-end side decision information indicating a talking state on a far-end side, an inputting portion which inputs an emitted signal from the far-end side, a speaker which emits the emitted signal being input into the inputting portion, a microphone which picks up a voice on a near-end side and outputs a picked-up signal, and a deciding portion which preliminarily decides a talking state on the near-end side based on the picked-up signal being output from the microphone and the emitted signal being input into the speaker, and generates near-end side decision information indicating a talking state on the near-end side. The deciding portion decides the talking state on the near-end side based on the far-end side decision information being received at the receiving portion and the near-end side decision information.

Talk deciding system

In a synchronous information reproduction apparatus, a receiving section sequentially receives a clock signal. A storing section stores object information to be sequentially reproduced from a series of reproduction points. A reproduction point generating section generates location information indicative of a reproduction point of the object information stored in the storing section. A reproducing section reads and reproduces the object information from the storing section based on the reproduction point generated by the reproduction point generating section. A synchronizing section synchronizes an incremental speed of the reproduction point generated by the reproduction point generating section with a reception timing of the clock signal based on a reception time interval of the clock signals. An outputting section outputs contents of the object information reproduced by the reproducing section.

Synchronous information reproduction apparatus

A sound field controller including a plurality of output channels for respectively supplying signals to a plurality of speakers, includes: a weighting-coefficient outputting unit which outputs weighting coefficients for determining how the signals on the plurality of channels for reproducing a sound field are to be distributed to the output channels, according to a relative positional relationship between the sound field and a listener; an input unit which inputs positional relation data indicating the relative positional relationship; and a distribution controller which distributes the signals on the plurality of channels to the output channels on the basis of the outputted weighting coefficients according to the inputted positional relation data.

Sound field controller

The present invention is directed to creating sound reverberation. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, an apparatus estimates an impulse response for use in reproduction of a sound in a desired acoustic space. In particular, the apparatus collects space information concerning an acoustic space and point information indicating positions of a sound generation and reception points in the acoustic space, estimates a set of acoustic ray paths of the sound traveling from the sound generation point to the sound reception point, acquires directivity information indicating an acoustic directivity of the sound generation point and the sound reception point, estimates an acoustic intensity of each acoustic ray path and weights each acoustic intensity by the acquired directivity information, and determines the impulse response based on directions of the respective acoustic ray paths toward the sound reception point and the weighed acoustic intensities of the respective acoustic ray paths.

Method of creating reverberation by estimation of impulse response

In a sound image creating apparatus, a distance computation section computes intermediate positions of a moving point along a trajectory line from a movement start position to a movement end position, and further computes a variable distance between each of the intermediate positions of the moving point and a fixed point. A velocity computation section computes a variable velocity of the moving point relative to the fixed point along the time axis on the basis of the variable distance. A signal processing section attenuates or delays an input sound signal in accordance with the variable distance, and varies a pitch of the input sound signal on the basis of the variable velocity, thereby creating the sound image of the input sound signal along the time axis based on principle of Doppler effect.

Apparatus for creating sound image of moving sound source

There is provided a database storing motion components, each of which includes motion information representative of a performance motion trajectory corresponding to a subdivided performance pattern for each musical instrument or part along with sounded point markers specifying tone-generation timing in the motion information. Motion components corresponding to the performance information are sequentially read out from the database to create basic motion information, and a three-dimensional picture is generated on the basis of the basic motion information and visually shown on a graphic display unit. Picture to be thus displayed can be selected optionally via a musical instrument change switch, player change switch and stage change switch, and the selected picture can be displayed in any desired direction by means of a viewpoint change switch.

Tone and picture generator device

Pictures of a predetermined musical instrument, such as a drum set, and a model player are displayed, so as to visually indicate, in accordance with a progression of performance, which musical instrument should be operated or played and which of body parts, such as left and right hands and feet, should be used for playing the musical instrument. For example, different display colors may be allocated to the left and right hands so that each musical instrument to be played is displayed in such a color corresponding to the hand to be used for playing the musical instrument. A picture of a musical score may be displayed. Performance data and musical score data of a music piece and performance motion picture data may include time data that are based on their respective time scales. In reproduction, the respective time scales of the respective data are commonized to thereby permit synchronization between a reproductive music performance and visual display.

Performance instruction apparatus and method

When performance information, such as MIDI data, is input, physical events or phenomena are simulated on the basis of the input performance information, and computer graphics or CG parameters and tone parameters are determined on the basis of the simulated results. The determined CG parameters are passed to a general-purpose CG library, while the determined tone parameters are passed to a tone generator driver. The general-purpose CG library generates data representing a three-dimensional configuration of an object on the basis of the received CG parameters, and executes a rendering operation to generate two-dimensional picture data on the basis of the three-dimensional data, so that the thus-generated two-dimensional picture data is visually displayed. The tone generator driver generates a tone signal on the basis of the received tone parameters, which is audibly reproduced as an output tone. By thus controlling the tone and picture collectively, it is possible to accurately simulate a performance on a musical instrument on the real-time basis.

Device and method for generating a picture and/or tone on the basis of detection of a physical event from performance information

Image information representing a manner of playing a piece of music can be diplayed while playing the piece of music. Performance image information is created, which enables displaying an image showing a manner of playing a piece of music while playing the piece of music. A motion component database is created, which comprises a plurality of motion components each created for each musical instrument or each part and stores a trajectory of a fraction of motion of a player and a musical instrument in one of at least one performance method being typical of the each musical instrument or the each part. Motion descriptive information is created, which designates one of the motion components corresponding to performance information on the piece of music to be played and a designated one of the at least one performance method, on a time schedule determined by a predetermined musical time unit of the piece of music to be played. Sequence information is created, which comprises the motion descriptive information, and the performance information. The designated one of the motion components can be edited, and the edited motion component is stored in the motion component database.

Performance image information creating and reproducing apparatus and method

To obtain a sound-broadened image and a clear sound-image discrimination image when producing plural kinds of sounds, the electronic musical instrument and the like provides a sound-image position control apparatus. This apparatus at least provides a signal mixing portion (e.g., matrix controller) and a virtual-speaker position control portion. The signal mixing portion mixes plural audio signals supplied from a sound source and the like in accordance with a predetermined signal mixing procedure to output plural mixed signals. To control positions of virtual speakers which are emerged as sound-producing points as if each kind of sounds is produced from each of these points, the virtual-speaker position control portion applies different delay times to each of plural mixed signals to output delayed signals as right-side and left-side audio signals to be respectively supplied to right-side and left-side speakers. The sound-image positions formed by the virtual speakers are controlled well, so that the person can clearly discriminate and recognize each of the sound-image positions.

An electronic musical tone generating apparatus includes a tone pitch designating unit for generating pitch signal representing tone pitch, a tone generation instruction unit for generating start signal instructing tone generation, a musical tone signal generating unit for generating a pair of musical tone signals representing a pair of direct sounds and a plurality of musical tone signals each representing a reflect sound in accordance with the start signal, wherein there can be difference of tone volume between respective musical tone signals of the pair of musical tone signals, and differences of tone volume and tone generation timing between respective musical tone signals of the plurality of musical tone signals, a controlling unit for controlling the difference of tone volume and the difference of tone generation timing in accordance with the pitch signal of the tone pitch designating unit, and a converting unit for converting the musical tone signals to musical sound.
