The electronic apparatus comprises a housing having a bottom wall, and a functional component contained in the housing. First and second gaps are created between the functional component and the bottom wall. The second gap is larger than the first gap. The functional component is supported in the housing via a supporting member. The supporting member is interposed between the functional component and the bottom wall, and has a first part positioned in the first gap and a second part positioned in the second gap. The second part has lower rigidity than the first part.

A portable information-processing apparatus comprising a housing having a first wall and a second wall opposing the first wall. A first manual operating member is provided on the first wall and exposed. A second manual operating member is provided on the second wall, is exposed, and facing away from the first manual operating member. In the housing there is provided a reinforcing plate for receiving the pressure which is generated when the first manual operating member is operated. The reinforcing member is located between the first and second operating members and supported by the first wall. The first and second manual operating members are supported by the first wall. The reinforcing plate is placed apart from the second manual operating member, forming a gap. The second wall has a projection which abuts on the reinforcing plate.

Portable information-processing apparatus having a manual operation

A circuit module comprising a circuit board, a function component, and a heat sink. The circuit board has a number of circuit components and a circuit element which generates heat while operating. The function component is secured to the circuit board by screws. The heat sink is connected to the circuit board by the screws, for radiating heat generated by the circuit element.

An electronic apparatus system comprises an electronic apparatus body such as a portable computer, and an extension station for use in extending the functions of the electronic apparatus body. The extension station has a mount portion on which the electronic apparatus body is detachably mounted, a device storage section in which an extension device for extending the functions of the electronic apparatus body is removably stored, and an ejector for discharging the extension device from the device storage section. The ejector has an eject lever manually operable at the time of discharging the extension device. The eject lever has an operation section exposed to the mount portion. The extension station includes a rotatable cover which is held in a closed position by an extension portion of the cover which extends toward the mount portion of the extension body. The extension portion of the cover is located under the portable computer when the portable computer is mounted on the mounting portion.

An apparatus includes a housing which incorporates a recording and reproducing function which includes a tape diving section, an opening portion formed in a front wall of the housing, and a tray unit which can be horizontally inserted and removed through the opening portion and in which first and second cassettes can be arranged on top surfaces of front and back regions, respectively. A cassette driving unit including pantagraph mechanisms and, a motor for driving the tray, and gears to move the tray unit and selectively load one of the cassettes in the tape driving section. Pop-up mechanisms and provided in the front and back regions of the tray, respectively. When the tray unit is pulled and the entire front region and a portion of the back region are located outside said housing, the pop-up mechanisms lift the front end of the cassette loaded in the back region to direct it toward an obliquely upper position.
