The present invention maintains sealing of the housing over a long period of time. A multiple-optical-axis photoelectric sensor () includes a light projector () and a light receiver () whose external forms are each formed by a housing () including an outer case () constituted by a main body case () and a first cap member (), a light-transmitting plate (), a first pressing member (A), second pressing members (B), a first adhesive tape (A), and second adhesive tapes (B). The first cap member () has a supporting part () provided on its inner side, and an elastic member () is provided between the second pressing member (B) and a portion of the light-transmitting plate () supported by the supporting part (). The light-transmitting plate () is pressed toward the first cap member () via the elastic member ().

A light projector and a light receiver each includes a case body, a light transmission plate closing an opening in a front face of the case body, and a pair of caps closing openings in end faces of the case body. The case body includes first supports supporting side edges of the light transmission plate, the caps respectively include second supports supporting ends of the light transmission plate, the light transmission plate is supported by the first supports and the second supports with an elastic member interposed between the light transmission plate and the first and second supports, and the cap is fixed to the case body while the seal member abutting on the end face of the case body is interposed between the cap and the case body. A cured liquid sealing agent is interposed between leading ends of the seal member and the elastic member.

A start-up time of a production facility is shortened while generation of a muting error is suppressed, whereby productivity is improved. A multiple-optical-axis photoelectric sensor system includes a projector, an optical receiver, a light blocking determination unit configured to make a light blocking determination whether each of optical axes formed between the projector and the optical receiver is in a light blocking state, and a muting processor configured to temporarily disable the light blocking determination on condition that a detection signal input from an external muting instrument changes according to a predetermined sequence. The muting processor determines the sequence of the detection signal from the muting instrument during the muting by dividing the sequence into a plurality stages. The muting processor accumulates and analyzes measurement information acquired in each stage, and decides an optimum setting value for a muting operation condition based on an analysis result.

Disclosed is a proximity switch provided with an actuator unit and a sensor unit. The sensor unit is provided with an antenna coil, a transmitting circuit which transmits electromagnetic waves at a constant frequency to the antenna coil, a receiving circuit which detects external signals received by means of the antenna coil, and control circuits. The actuator unit is provided with an antenna coil, a power supply circuit which rectifies an electromotive force generated in the antenna coil, and a signal processing circuit which receives power supply from the power supply circuit, performs frequency-dividing to the signals received by means of the antenna coil, and transmits the signals from the antenna coil after the frequency-dividing. The control circuit of the sensor unit has memory for registering the frequency of the signals transmitted from the actuator unit. The control circuit determines whether the actuator unit is in proximity to the sensor unit or not by checking the received signals detected by means of the receiving circuit with the operations of the transmitting circuit and the frequency registered in the memory.
