To provide an ultrasound imaging apparatus capable of displaying an ultrasound stitched image in which an analyte can easily grasp the state of the analyte, an ultrasound imaging apparatus is provided with an ultrasound image generation module which receives ultrasound waves transmitted from a plurality of mutually different positions on the surface of an analyte and reflected in the inside of the analyte and generates ultrasound images corresponding to the respective positions, an image stitcher module which synthesizes the ultrasound images at the respective positions and generates a stitched image of the cross section of the analyte, and a rotation angle adjusting module which adjusts the angle of the stitched image and orients a specific portion included in the stitched image in a predetermined direction.

An ultrasonic imaging system is provided which can obtain an accurate synthesized image, even if a specimen has a surface with a large curvature. An ultrasonic imaging system may include a probe and processing circuitry. The probe may perform scan of first and second ultrasonic waves different from each other. The processing circuitry may generate a first ultrasonic image based on the first ultrasonic wave and generate a second ultrasonic image based on the second ultrasonic wave. The processing circuitry may calculate a spatial relationship based on two first ultrasonic images at two positions and two second ultrasonic images at the two positions. The processing circuitry may synthesize one of the first and second ultrasonic images at one of the two positions with the one of the first and second ultrasonic images at the other position based on the calculated relationship.

Provided is an art in which when an operator grips a probe of an ultrasonic imaging apparatus and moves the probe, it is facilitated to maintain the probe at a suitable angle with respect to an object to be imaged. A probe adapter may include a contact surface having a shape extending along an outer circumference of a cross section of an object to be imaged, and a fixing portion configured to fix a probe having an ultrasonic wave transmitting-receiving surface which transmits and receives an ultrasonic wave at a given angle and expose the ultrasonic wave transmitting-receiving surface to the contact surface side.
