Provided is a liquid crystal polyester resin composition, which comprises 5-20 parts by weight of glass fiber having a specific number average fiber diameter and fiber length after molding and 100 parts by weight of a specific liquid crystal polyester resin, and the flexural modulus thereof measured with using a test piece of 0.5 mm thickness is 25 GPa or more; and also provided a process for producing a molded article therefrom. The liquid crystal polyester resin composition is low in specific gravity, and is excellent in processability, mechanical properties, and heat resistance.

Liquid crystal polyester resin composition

A liquid crystal polyester resin mixture having a stabilized plastication time and accordingly possible to be molded in constant cycles and giving a molded article excellent in mechanical properties and thermal stability is provided. The liquid crystal polyester resin mixture comprises 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester and from 0 to 150 parts by weight of a filler, and either from 0.001 to 5 parts by weight of a fatty acid amide having a formula; R &mdash;CO&mdash;NH (wherein R denotes a saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon of 10 to 30 carbons) or from 0.001 to 2 parts by weight of a high molecular weight polyethylene with a molecular weight of 10,000 or higher.

Liquid crystal polyester resin mixture

The object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystalline polyester resin composition for connectors that is excellent in fluidity at the time of molding and is therefore capable of producing connectors with further suppressed degree of warpage. The object is achieved by providing a liquid crystalline polyester resin composition for connectors comprising a liquid crystalline polyester resin mixture which comprises a liquid crystalline polyester (A) having a specific flow beginning temperature and a liquid crystalline polyester resin (B) having a specific flow beginning temperature and the flow beginning temperature between the liquid crystalline polyester resin (A) and the liquid crystalline polyester resin (B) is from 20&deg; C. to 60&deg; C., and from 15 to 180 parts by weight of a fibrous and/or plate-shaped inorganic filler; wherein both of the liquid crystalline polyester resin (A) and the liquid crystalline polyester resin (B) are produced by the specific method.

Liquid crystalline polyester resin composition for a connector

Provided is an aromatic polysulfone resin composition comprising 5 to 50 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester resin having a flow temperature of 250 to 320&deg; C., based on 100 parts by weight of an aromatic polysulfone resin having a melt viscosity of less than 500 Pa&middot;s measured at 340&deg; C. and a shear rate of 1000/second and a molded article thereof. The composition shows excellent flowability in molding without losing excellent mechanical property and heat-resistance of the molded article thereof.

Aromatic polysulfone resin composition and molded article thereof

A resin composition comprising an inorganic filler in the form of fiber or plate compounded in a liquid crystal polyester resin composition obtained by compounding 10 to 150 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester (B) into 100 parts by weight of a liquid crystal polyester (A), wherein the liquid crystal polyester (A) has a flow temperature of from 310 to 400.degree. C., the liquid crystal polyester (B) has a flow temperature of from 270 to 370.degree. C., the difference between the flow temperature of the liquid crystal polyester (A) and the flow temperature of the liquid crystal polyester (B) is from 10 to 60.degree. C., and the content of the inorganic filler is from 15 to 180 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the total amount of the liquid crystal polyester (A) and the liquid crystal polyester (B). The resin composition is excellent in thin-wall flowability and can provide a molded article having excellent heat resistance and low warpage, and can provide a super thin-wall molded article.
