A chain-type driving force transmitting apparatus includes a case having a lower space accumulating therein lubricating oil, an input shaft rotatably supported by the case, an output shaft arranged in parallel with the input shaft and rotatably supported by the case, and a chain wound around the input shaft and the output shaft and lifting up the lubricating oil accumulated in the lower space of the case. The chain-type driving force transmitting apparatus further includes a separator positioned adjacent to the chain and dividing the lower space of the case into a first chamber housing the chain and a second chamber. The separator has an inclined portion formed at an upper end of the separator and inclining towards the chain so as to receive the lubricating oil lifted up by the chain, wherein the lubricating oil received by the inclined portion flows into the second chamber.

Chain-type driving force transmitting apparatus

A lubricating structure of a rotational shaft oil sealing portion includes a casing, a rotational shaft rotatably retained by the casing, an annular space defined between the casing and the rotational shaft, an annular oil seal retained by the casing at one axial end of the annular space and sealing a clearance between the casing and the rotational shaft, the annular oil seal defining an oil seal chamber at the other axial end of the annular space, an oil supply passage, an oil drain passage, and an oil groove formed at the inner peripheral wall of the casing by cutting away the inner peripheral wall into a crescent shape in a circumferential direction, the oil supply passage communicating with the oil groove at a circumferentially center portion of the oil groove, wherein pressurized lubricating oil is supplied to the oil groove via the oil supply passage.

Lubricating structure of a rotational shaft oil sealing portion

A transfer device for a vehicle includes a casing, a cylindrical input shaft supported by the casing, a first end of the input shaft engaging with a driveshaft, an output shaft supported on an internal surface of a second end of the input shaft and engaging with the second end of the input shaft, the output shaft including an oil passage formed therein in an axial direction, and a lubrication fluid supply passage supplying a lubrication fluid from the casing to the oil passage. The lubrication fluid supply passage includes an inner fluid tight chamber annularly formed with an external surface of the output shaft and an internal surface of the input shaft, a first passage establishing a communication between the inner fluid tight chamber and the oil passage, and a second passage establishing a communication between the inner fluid tight chamber and an external surface of the input shaft.

Transfer device for vehicle

A case includes an assembling hole portion and a snap ring preassembled hereto. When fixing a bearing to the case, a first distance between both ends of the snap ring can be expanded within the assembling hole portion. The bearing is used for supporting a rotational shaft of the case. The assembling hole portion includes dual hole portions, which open at respective positions where the both ends of the snap ring can be expanded within the dual hole portions.

Case

An ECU executes a program including the step of controlling the current value of an actuator that moves a sleeve by increasing the current value subsequent to complete synchronization between a rear output shaft and a front output shaft of a transfer when the oil temperature of a front differential connected to the front output shaft of the transfer via a front propeller shaft is low to switch from a two-wheel drive state to a four-wheel drive state. The rear output shaft and front output shaft are brought into synchronization by a synchronizer abutting against the sleeve.

Control apparatus and control method for torque transmission mechanism

A planetary gear type transmission includes a planetary gear mechanism including a sun gear, a ring gear, and a planetary carrier which all have the same axis, an output shaft having the same axis as the planetary gear mechanism, a sleeve supported movable in an axial direction by the output shaft, an inner piece connected to the sleeve while the sleeve is approaching the planetary gear mechanism and including a first inner spline, and an outer piece connected to the sleeve while the sleeve is separating from the planetary gear mechanism and including a second outer spline. The sleeve includes a first outer spline fitted to the first inner spline and a second inner spline fitted to the second outer spline. A distance between the second inner spline and the planetary gear mechanism is smaller than a distance between the first outer spline and the planetary gear mechanism.

Planetary gear type transmission

A vehicle includes a sensor sensing external temperature, a 2WD/4WD switch operated to input an instruction to switch a two-wheel drive state and a four-wheel drive state, a transfer switching mechanical power transfer for the two-wheel drive state and that for the four-wheel drive state, an actuator actuating the transfer, and an ECU controlling the actuator. The ECU determines from a value detected by the sensor a current supplied to the actuator. Preferably, the transfer includes a synchronizer mechanism driven by power generated by the actuator to transfer a drive shaft's rotation to a driven shaft and engage the shafts together when they achieve synchronous rotation.

Four-wheel drive vehicle

A vehicle includes a wheel speed sensor sensing a vehicle speed V, a 2WD/4WD switch operative to input an instruction to switch between a two-wheel driving state and a four-wheel driving state, a transfer and an actuator switching the two-wheel driving state and the four-wheel driving state, and an ECU driving the actuator. The ECU instructs the actuator to switch from the four-wheel driving state to the two-wheel driving state regardless of the switching instruction from the 2WD/4WD switch if the vehicle tows a trailer and runs in the four-wheel driving state when the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined value. Consequently, it is possible to provide a four-wheel drive vehicle capable of running while towing an object and also avoiding an increase in the size of the peripheral parts of driving wheels.

A lubricating mechanism includes: a rotational shaft; a casing housing a rear-end of the rotational shaft; a bearing between the rotational shaft and the casing; and an oil seal between the casing and one of the rotational shaft and a member rotatable with the rotational shaft in a space behind the bearing. The rotational shaft includes: a first oil passage extending from a front of the bearing towards the bearing; a second oil passage extending radially under the bearing, one side thereof communicating with the first oil passage and the other side thereof opening at a periphery of the rotational shaft; and a third oil passage extending between the periphery of the rotational shaft and an inner periphery of the bearing, one side thereof communicating with the other side of the second oil passage and the other side thereof communicating with the space.
