A method of manufacturing an electrode includes a step of preparing a granulated material containing an electrode active material, a binder, and a solvent, a step of compressing the granulated material between a pair of rolls, to form an electrode composite layer, and a step of placing the electrode composite layer on an electrode current collector. At least one of the pair of rolls has a temperature of 40° C. or higher.

A wet particle storage tank includes a tank body capable of storing wet particles containing particles and solvent. The tank body has an upper storage section having a supply port through which the wet particles are supplied, a lower storage section located below the upper storage section and having a discharge port through which the wet particles are discharged, and a bridge forming section provided between the upper storage section and the lower storage section. The bridge forming section facilitates formation of a bridge by the wet particles to block falling of the wet particles from the upper storage section to the lower storage section.

An electrode material containing active material powder is prepared. Dry classification of the electrode material is performed by a classifier. An electrode is manufactured by using the electrode material subjected to the dry classification. The classifier includes a mesh screen, a blade, and a motor. Breakage of the mesh screen is detected by monitoring either or both of an operation sound of the classifier and torque of the motor. The electrode material contained in the classifier will no longer be used for manufacturing of the electrode when breakage of the mesh screen is detected.

A method for manufacturing an electrode disclosed herein includes a step of granulating a moisture powder formed by aggregated particles including at least an electrode active material, carbon nanotubes, and a non-aqueous electrolytic solution, and a step of forming an electrode by supplying an electrode active material layer composed of the moisture powder onto the electrode current collector. The granulation step includes a first mixing treatment of mixing the carbon nanotubes and the non-aqueous electrolytic solution to impregnate the carbon nanotubes with the non-aqueous electrolytic solution, a second mixing treatment of mixing the carbon nanotubes impregnated with the non-aqueous electrolytic solution and the electrode active material, and a treatment of compressing the mixture obtained by the first and second mixing treatments.
