In a method of monitoring washing water used in a developing process of a photosensitive material, a reference conductivity of the washing water is first calculated in accordance with a equation and based on the conductivity of a processing solution in a bleaching/fixing tank and the conductivity of fresh water for replenishing the washing tank. The conductivity of the washing water in the washing tank is compared with the reference conductivity to determine the degree of contamination of the washing water. Since the conductivity of the processing solution may vary due to evaporation thereof or the like, the reference conductivity is updated at periodic intervals. Accordingly, the degree of contamination can always be determined based on a proper reference conductivity.

A photosensitive material processing apparatus is provided in which the structure thereof is simple, a plurality of types of photosensitive materials can be reliably guided in accordance with the width of the photosensitive material to be conveyed, and the guide width changing operation can be easily effected. A wide film F1 can receive driving force in a state in which the film F1 is nipped between a collar portion 50 having a larger diameter and a circumferential surface of a roller 26. Because side plates 20, 22 serve as width guides of the film F1, the film F1 is stably conveyed. In a case in which a narrow film F2 is processed, a bearing 32 is moved so that a protruding portion 46 of the bearing 32 is inserted through a concave portions 48 which is located closer to the roller 26. Accordingly, the collar portion 50 is accommodated within a groove portion 54, and a collar portion 52 having a smaller diameter contacts the circumferential surface of the roller 26 so that the narrow film F2 is nipped between the circumferential surface of the collar portion 52 and the roller 26. Further, the end surface of the collar portion 50 having a larger diameter serves as a guide. Therefore, the narrow film F2 can also be stably conveyed.

Photosensitive material processing apparatus

A photographic processing apparatus for processing an exposed film accommodated in a film accommodating element and a photographic printing paper. The film is subjected to the processing while the film is drawn out of the accommodating element and stored again. A transfer element moves the film accommodating element from a conveyance start position drawing out the film to a conveyance end position storing again the film. A conveying passage changing system changes a conveying passage of the film. The conveying passage changing system includes an inverting element for swapping a front end of the film and a rear end of the film during conveying.

Photographic processing apparatus

In a photosensitive material processing apparatus, a conveying rack is provided so as to be able to be immersed in and lifted out from both of first and second processing chambers simultaneously. The conveying rack includes a plurality of conveying roller pairs and conveys a photosensitive material from the first to the second processing chamber via a processing solution partitioning member while immersing it in the processing solutions. At least one of the plurality of conveying roller pairs which are provided in the first processing chamber is a one-way rotating conveying roller pair which is rotated only in a rotating direction corresponding to a direction of conveying the photosensitive material. When the conveying rack which is immersed in the first and second processing chambers is lifted out therefrom, levels of the processing solutions in the first and second processing chambers are changed equally. Even if the conveying rack is lifted with the photosensitive material therein, the photosensitive material is smoothly withdrawn and the processing solution partitioning member follows changes in a conveying path of the photosensitive material. Therefore, a function of separating the processing solutions does not deteriorate, and the processing solutions in the first and second processing chambers do not mix.

Disclosed herein is an image recording apparatus which comprises first and second recording heads each used to record a visible image on a recording medium, and a drive mechanism capable of moving the first and second recording heads in the direction which intersects the direction in which the recording medium is fed and in the directions in which they are spaced from each other while respective processes for recording the visible image on the recording medium by the first and second recording heads are being carried out simultaneously.
