An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes an image acquisition section and an image generation section. The image acquisition section acquires a captured image, the captured image being captured by a camera section that performs imaging in all directions from a single imaging point in a virtual space. The image generation section generates, on the basis of the captured image, a display image to be displayed on a display including an outward display surface capable of being observed from all directions of a real space.

It is an objective of the invention of the present application to provide an image display apparatus capable of reducing a change in a display state of a virtual image that depends on a change in a viewpoint position. An image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes an emission unit, a diffractive optical element, and an emission control unit. The emission unit emits image light of a target image. The diffractive optical element includes an incident surface and an emission surface, diffracts the image light entering the incident surface, emits the image light from the emission surface, and displays a virtual image that is the target image. The emission control unit controls emission of the image light by the emission unit by using image data generated in accordance with a change in a display state of the virtual image that depends on a change in a viewpoint position.

A display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present technology includes a display unit, a motion sensor, a region setting unit, and an information generating unit. The display unit includes a tubular display whose directional range in which an image is displayed is larger than 180 degrees. The motion sensor detects an observer who observes the display. The region setting unit sets a first region visible from the observer and a second region different from the first region as regions on the display on the basis of a detection result of the motion sensor. The information generating unit generates main information displayed in the first region and illumination information regarding illumination light presented in accordance with the second region.

An image display device according to the present disclosure includes: one or more image sources that output a two-dimensional projection image; and one or more image deflection sections that generate a plurality of area images by dividing the projection image from the image source into a plurality of areas at least in a horizontal direction, and deflects and projects, toward a screen having anisotropic diffusion properties, the plurality of area images at respective angles different from each other to partially overlap the plurality of area images with each other on the screen and thereby display images from a plurality of viewpoints.
