A toner formed of at least a binder resin, a colorant, a charge control agent and a wax, is provided with a uniform state of dispersion of the wax and good balance of low-temperature fixability and anti-high-temperature offset characteristic, while exhibiting good developing performances over wide environmental conditions. The toner is characterized in that (a) the binder resin comprises a hybrid resin component having a polyester unit and a vinyl polymer unit, (b) the toner exhibits a loss tangent (tan &#x3b4;) of 1.0 at a temperature in a range of 80-160&#xb0; C., and (c) the toner provides a DSC curve showing a heat-absorption peak in a temperature range of 85-130&#xb0; C. on temperature increase as measured according to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).

Toner, image forming method and process-cartridge

To provide a yellow toner allowing formation of an image with an excellent transparency for an OHP, an excellent coloring power, and an excellent light resistance. In the yellow toner including at least a yellow pigment containing a monoazo compound represented by the following formula (1), the value of a* is in the range of &#x2212;5 to +14 when b* is +80 with respect to a transmission chromaticity of an image formed on a transparency sheet. Yellow toner

There is disclosed a toner which comprises at least a binder resin, a coloring agent, and a wax and in which a deformation amount of the toner (R) at the time of application of a load of 200 g at a temperature of 120&#xb0; C. is 45% to 75% and in which a deformation amount of the toner (R) at the time of application of a load of 500 g at a temperature of 120&#xb0; C. is 65% to 85% and in which there is at least one endothermic peak or shoulder in a range at 60 to 120&#xb0; C. in a DSC curve at the time of temperature rise measured by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). By the toner, an offset can be inhibited from being generated in heating/pressurizing/fixing in which an oil for preventing a high-temperature offset is not used or a use amount of the oil is reduced, and an OHP fixed image superior in transparency can be obtained.

Toner, method for forming a full-color image, and process cartridge

In a negatively chargeable toner having i) negatively chargeable toner particles containing at least a binder resin, a colorant and a vinyl copolymer and ii) an inorganic fine powder, the negatively chargeable toner has a weight-average particle diameter of from 4 &#x3bc;m to 12 &#x3bc;m and contains, in particle size distribution of the toner, less than 50% by volume of particles of 10.1 &#x3bc;m or more in particle diameter, and the vinyl copolymer is a vinyl copolymer obtained by copolymerizing a monomer composition which contains at least i) a vinyl monomer such as an N-substituted acryl- or methacrylamide or a ring-structure acryl- or methacrylamide and ii) a vinyl monomer having as a functional group a carboxyl group or a carboxyl group made into salt structure. An image-forming method and a process cartridge make use of such a negatively chargeable toner.

A toner contains at least a bonding resin and a coloring agent, and has a weight mean particle size from 5 &mgr;m to 12 &mgr;m; not less than 90% by number of particles not less than 3 &mgr;m have a circularity &ldquo;a&rdquo; not less than 0.900; a cut ratio Z and a weight mean size X of the toner are related as: cut ratio Z&lE;5.3&times;X; and a relationship of particles Y having a circularity of not less than 0.950 and a weight mean size X is Y&gE;e &times;X where X is 5 to 12 &mgr;m.

A toner is formed of toner particles each comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant and a wax, and inorganic fine powder. The toner is characterized by (a) containing a sulfur-containing polymer, and (b) showing dielectric loss tangent (tan&dgr;) values at 100 kHz assuming a maximum of 2.5&times;10 to 8&times;10 in a temperature range of 100 to 130&deg; C. Because of the combination of the features (a) and (b), the toner can exhibit a good combination of developing performances and fixing performances.

A toner manufacturing method includes grinding and classification to produce a toner containing a binder resin and a colorant with a weight mean particle size of 5 microns to 12 microns and sharp particle density distribution. The toner has a specific circularity, relationship between cut ratio and weight mean size, and relationship between circularity and weight mean size as disclosed in the specification.

A toner having a negative triboelectric chargeability is constituted by at least a binder resin, a colorant and an organic metal compound. The toner is characterized by: (a) the organic metal compound is an organic zirconium compound comprising a coordination or/and a bonding of zirconium and an aromatic compound as a ligand or/and an acid source selected from the group consisting of aromatic diols, aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids, aromatic monocarboxylic acids, and aromatic polycarboxylic acids, (b) the binder resin is a resin selected from the group consisting of (i) a polyester resin and (ii) a hybrid resin component comprising a polyester unit and a vinyl polymer unit, (c) the binder resin has an acid value of 2-50 mgKOH/g, and (d) the toner contains a TFT (tetrahydrofuran)-soluble content providing a GPC (gel permeation chromatography) chromatogram exhibiting a main peak in a molecular weight range of 3,000-20,000 and including 3-25% of a component having molecular weights of at least 5&times;10,.

Toner having negative triboelectric chargeability and image forming method

A toner having a negative triboelectric chargeability is constituted by at least a binder resin, a colorant, a wax and an organic metal compound. The toner is characterized in that: (a) the toner has an acid value of 5-35 mgKOH/g, (b) the binder resin comprises a vinyl polymer, (c) the binder resin in the toner contains a chloroform-insoluble content in an amount of 3-50 wt. %, (d) the toner contains a THF (tetrahydrofuran)-soluble content providing a GPC (gel permeation chromatography) chromatogram exhibiting a main peak in a molecular weight range of 5,000-30,000 and at least one sub-peak and/or shoulder in a molecular weight range of 2.times.10.sup.5 -15.times.10.sup.5 and including 15-70% of a component having molecular weights of 1.times.10.sup.4 -10.times.10.sup.4, and (e) the organic metal compound is an organic zirconium compound comprising a coordination or/and a bonding of zirconium and an aromatic compound as a ligand or/and an acid source selected from the group consisting of aromatic diols, aromatic hydroxycarboxylic acids, aromatic monocarboxylic acids, and aromatic polycarboxylic acids.
