Provided is a method of avoiding the influence of a coexisting substance in the measurement of HbA1c % for a whole blood sample by an enzymatic method. Specifically, provided is a method of measuring a ratio of a hemoglobin A1c concentration to a hemoglobin concentration in a sample by an enzymatic method, the method including: a first step of optically measuring the hemoglobin concentration; and a second step of optically measuring the hemoglobin A1c concentration, wherein, when HbA1c % is calculated by dividing the hemoglobin A1c concentration measured in the second step by the hemoglobin concentration measured in the first step, the hemoglobin concentration serving as a denominator, which is measured at a first wavelength, is corrected using a result measured at a second wavelength.

Provided is a photodetector device for detecting light intensity based on a detection signal of a difference circuit, the photodetector device including: a first light receiving element which generates an electric charge based on incident light; a second light receiving element, which includes a light blocking part for blocking incident light and generates an electric charge being a reference; and a storage detection circuit for detecting that an output voltage of the first light receiving element or the second light receiving element has reached a predetermined potential and outputting the detection signal when the difference does not reach a predetermined value even though sufficient incident light is provided.

Photodetector device

Provided is an illuminance sensor in which a consumption current is independent of an illuminance level of incident light. Amplifiers (to) and a subtraction circuit () are driven by a constant current source (not shown). The subtraction circuit () outputs a differential voltage between output voltages of a photodetector element () and a photodetector element (). Based on the differential voltage, a sample/hold circuit () performs sampling or holding of a voltage at one end of a capacitor (). A switch () is ON when an output voltage of the subtraction circuit () starts to change, thereby fixing the voltage at the one end of the capacitor () to a reference voltage.

A mobile communication device having a touch screen, a detector and a controller is provided. The touch screen is adapted for displaying and entering data. The detector is configured to detect a trace drawn and entered on the touch screen. Provided is a photodetection device which is small in size and has excellent sensitivity. A photodetection device puts cathode terminals of photodiodes having different spectral characteristics into an open end state, and detects light intensity of a desired wavelength region according to a difference in electric charges that have been stored in those photodiodes in a given period of time. The photodiodes employ a system of storing electric charges, and hence even if a photocurrent is small, the photocurrent may be stored to obtain the electric charges required for detection, and the downsizing and high detection performance of a semiconductor device that forms the photodiodes may be achieved. Further, a wide dynamic range may be realized with an electric charge storage time being variable according to the light intensity, to intermittently drive an element required for difference detection at the time of difference detection so as to suppress electric power consumption, or to average the output so as to reduce flicker.

A semiconductor device has a transparent dielectric substrate such as a sapphire substrate. To enable fabrication equipment to detect the presence of the substrate optically, the back surface of the substrate is coated with a triple-layer light-reflecting film, preferably a film in which a silicon oxide or silicon nitride layer is sandwiched between polycrystalline silicon layers. This structure provides high reflectance with a combined film thickness of less than half a micrometer.

In one aspect of this invention, upon playing back contents, a content to be played back is selected from a plurality of contents stored in a storage unit, and it is checked for this selected content if a first playback mode that requires a prior playback confirmation operation or a second playback mode that does not require any prior playback confirmation operation is suitable as the playback mode of the content of interest. If it is determined that the first playback mode is suitable as the playback mode of the selected content, the content is skipped without being played back. On the other hand, if it is determined that the second playback mode is suitable as the playback mode of the selected content, that content is played back.

A scanning circuit has path switches connected between a plurality of data flip-flop circuits of the scanning circuit for sequentially reading an output signal in synchronism with a clock. A plurality of control signal lines select the path switches to arbitrarily skip reading of the flip-flop circuits that do not require the scanning circuit and always fix a potential of the skipped data flip-flop circuit. Only the arbitrary data is read, and in the case where unnecessary data exists, reading is skipped, to thereby increase the read rate.

A photoelectric converter capable of reducing random noise has a photoelectric conversion circuit that generates an optical signal in correspondence to incident light, a reset circuit connected to an output terminal of the photoelectric conversion circuit, and a first amplification circuit connected to output terminals of the photoelectric conversion circuit and the reset circuit.
