A branched organopolysiloxane is prepared by polymerizing an organopolysiloxane mixture of a branch unit-containing organopolysiloxane and a low molecular weight organopolysiloxane in the presence of an acidic or basic catalyst, or by adding a surfactant to the organopolysiloxane mixture, dispersing it in water to form an emulsion, and polymerizing the emulsion.

Disclosed is a powder consisting of particles of a cured fluoro-silicone rubber having a specified average particle diameter and a specified rubber hardness. The fluorosilicone rubber has a siloxane composition consisting of three types of units expressed by the unit formulas of &lsqb;R,R,SiO,&rsqb;, &lsqb;R,SiO,&rsqb; and &lsqb;R,SiO,&rsqb;, in which R,is preferably a 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl group and R,is preferably a methyl group, in such a proportion that the molar ratio of R,:(R,&plus;R,) is in the range from 0.05 to 0.5. The powder is useful as an ingredient in a cosmetic or toiletry preparation to effect improved sustainability of the cosmetic finish and decreased unevenness of coloring on human skin.

Particles of cured fluorosilicone rubber and cosmetic preparation containing same

Disclosed is a novel modified organopolysiloxane compound characteristically having carboxylalk(en)ylcarbonyl groups substituting for the hydrogen atoms on the N atoms in an aminoalkyl group-containing organopolysiloxane as introduced by the reaction of a dicarboxylic acid anhydride such as maleic anhydride and succinic anhydride with an aminoalkyl group-containing organopolysiloxane. This modified organopolysiloxane compound serves as a principal ingredient in an aqueous emulsion composition for a finishing treatment of various fabric material to impart excellent touch feeling of softness to the fabric material with little problem of yellowing of the fabric material unavoidable with conventional aminoalkyl group-containing organopolysiloxane compounds. The inventive modified organopolysiloxane compound in the form of an aqueous emulsion is also useful for a waterproofing treatment of paperboards for plasterboards to serve as a covering sheet on the core board of hydrated gypsum.

Organopolysiloxane compound and composition containing the same

A stable organopolysiloxane emulsion is briefly prepared by emulsifying and dispersing a low molecular weight organopolysiloxane (A) in water in the presence of an organic sulfonic acid or organic sulfate anionic surfactant (B) to form an initial emulsion having a mean particle size of up to 300 nm, and effecting polymerization reaction, followed by neutralization.

Preparation of organopolysiloxane emulsion

Provided by the invention is a water-base silicone composition suitable for the surface treatment of, in particular, rubber articles as the substrate to impart the surface with excellent abrasion resistance and lubricity. The hair-care treatment toiletry composition contains, as the characteristic ingredient in addition to the usual ingredients acceptable as constituents of a hair-care treatment toiletry composition, a specified amount of a specific morpholino-modified diorganopolysiloxane, e.g., a dimethylpolysiloxane substituted by 3-morpholinopropyl groups for a part of the methyl groups as bonded to the silicon atoms in the organopolysiloxane molecules.

Hair-care treatment toiletry composition

Provided by the invention is a silicone-based oil compound as a base of a defoaming agent of, for example, an emulsion type in an aqueous medium containing a surface active agent capable of exhibiting excellent sustainability of the defoaming activity and stability against dilution. The oil compound comprises (A) from 30 to 98.9% by weight of an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxy dimethyl polysiloxane, (B) from 0.1 to 20% by weight of a poly(methyl hydroxy siloxane, such as 1,1,1,3,5,7,7,7-octamethyl-3,5-dihydroxy tetrasiloxane and (C) from 1 to 50% by weight of a finely divided silica powder having a specific surface area of at least 100 m.sup.2 /g.

Proposed is a reliable method for the preparation of a water-base hair-care or skin-care toiletry preparation capable of imparting the hair or skin of the user with excellent touch feeling of smoothness and sleekness. The method comprises (a) preparing an aqueous dispersion of globular particles of a cured silicone rubber having a specified average particle diameter by the in situ crosslinking hydrosilation reaction in liquid droplets of a vinyl group-containing dimethylpolysiloxane and an organohydrogenpolysiloxane in combination in the presence of a surface active agent and (b) admixing a base mixture consisting of the principal ingredients of a water-base toiletry composition with a specified amount of the aqueous dispersion of the cured silicone rubber particles.

A novel aqueous organopolysiloxane emulsion composition of the oil-in-water type suitable as an additive ingredient in toiletry preparations for hair-care treatment, of which the organopolysiloxane particles have a relatively large volume-average particle diameter of 3 to 100 .mu.m as emulsified by using a quaternary ammonium chloride as a cationic surface active agent. The emulsion composition is advantageous in respect of the improved stability of the emulsion and increased retention on the hair treated with the hair-care composition. The emulsion composition is prepared in a process comprising the steps of: mixing the organopolysiloxane and the cationic surface active agent with a relatively small volume of water; vigorously agitating the mixture so as to cause phase inversion into an oil-in-water base emulsion; and diluting the base emulsion with an additional volume of water, optionally, containing the cationic surface active agent.

Oil-in-water organopolysiloxane emulsion and method for the preparation

Proposed is a thermoplastic resin-based film suitable as a wrapping material having good slipperiness of the surface without decreasing the high transparency and having high resistance against formation of scratches. Proposed is a novel organopolysiloxane composition in the form of a water-base emulsion suitable for use as a surface-coating agent on rubber articles such as automobile parts to impart excellent smoothness of the surface, abrasion resistance, adhesion to the rubber surface and so on. The composition comprises: (a) an organopolysiloxane having a viscosity of at least 10000 centipoise at 25.degree. C. and having a molecular structure consisting of the difunctional siloxane units and the trifunctional siloxane units terminated at each molecular chain end with a hydroxy group, in the form of an aqueous emulsion; (b) a hydrolysis-condensation product of an epoxy group-containing dialkoxy silane in the form of an aqueous emulsion; (c) a water-soluble organic amino compound having at least two amino groups in a molecule and containing no silicon atom; and (d) silicone rubber particles in the form of an aqueous dispersion, each in a specified weight proportion.

Organopolysiloxane and fiber finishing composition containing the same

Proposed is a powder of silicone rubber having improved flowability and dispersibility consisting of particles of a cured silicone rubber of which each particle has a coating layer of a polyorganosilsesquioxane resin in a specified coating amount. The powder is prepared by the admixture of an aqueous dispersion of a cured silicone rubber particles, which is preferably prepared by the hydrosilation reaction between a vinyl group-containing organopolysiloxane and an organohydrogen polysiloxane emulsified in an aqueous medium, with a trialkoxy silane compound such as methyl trimethoxy silane together with an alkaline compound, e.g., ammonia water, under agitation so that the hydrolysis-condensation reaction of the trialkoxy silane compound proceed to form a coating layer on the surface of the silicone rubber particles.
