The object of the present invention is to provide a combination weighing device in which supply of articles at an article conveyance part is controlled with good precision. A combination weighing device () is provided with article conveyance parts () having loading parts () of articles and driving parts () for driving the loading parts, the article conveyance parts () driving the driving parts and thereby causing the articles to be conveyed to hoppers () arranged downstream in a conveyance direction, a sensing part () for sensing, in non-contact manner, a state of the articles on the loading parts, and a supply control part () for controlling supply of the articles by controlling driving of the article conveyance parts based on a sensing result of the sensing part. The sensing part sense, for a plurality of regions along the conveyance direction, the state of the articles for each of the regions. The supply control part controls the driving based on a physical quantity relating to a height of the articles on the loading parts for each of the regions, the height being ascertained from the state of the articles of each of the regions.

Combination weighing device for weighing articles conveyed to a hopper

The position of blood vessels can be more appropriately specified by means of appropriately selecting, on the basis of the conditions and components utilized, and angle between a light emitting unit optical axis of a near-infrared light emitting unit and a normal light of an irradiated surface, and angle between an optical axis of a light receiving side lens and the normal line of the irradiated surface, and an angle between a light receiving surface of a photo diode array and the light receiving unit optical axis. Thus, the subcutaneous blood vessel depth in the direction of the normal line from the irradiated surface can be specified based on changes in illumination intensity in a photodiode array. Consequently, the position of subcutaneous blood vessels can be easily specified.

Blood sampling device

A mass measurement device measures the mass of an article, even when the article is being moved. A mass measurement device includes a robot hand, a robot arm, a force sensor, an acceleration sensor, and a control unit. The robot hand holds an article (Q). The robot arm moves the robot hand. The force sensor is provided between the robot hand and the robot arm and measures force acting on the article (Q) during movement. The acceleration sensor measures acceleration acting on the article (Q) during the movement. The control unit runs and controls the robot hand and the robot arm, and calculates the mass of the article (Q) on the basis of the force and acceleration acting on the article (Q) during the movement.

A method of making carbon thin films comprises depositing a catalyst on a substrate, depositing a hydrocarbon in contact with the catalyst and pyrolyzing the hydrocarbon. A method of controlling a carbon thin film density comprises etching a cavity into a substrate, depositing a hydrocarbon into the cavity, and pyrolyzing the hydrocarbon while in the cavity to form a carbon thin film. Controlling a carbon thin film density is achieved by changing the volume of the cavity. Methods of making carbon containing patterned structures are also provided. Carbon thin films and carbon containing patterned structures can be used in NEMS, MEMS, liquid chromatography, and sensor devices.

Pyrolyzed thin film carbon

A method (and resulting structure) for fabricating a sensing device. The method includes providing a substrate comprising a surface region and forming an insulating material overlying the surface region. The method also includes forming a film of carbon based material overlying the insulating material and treating to the film of carbon based material to pyrolyzed the carbon based material to cause formation of a film of substantially carbon based material having a resistivity ranging within a predetermined range. The method also provides at least a portion of the pyrolyzed carbon based material in a sensor application and uses the portion of the pyrolyzed carbon based material in the sensing application. In a specific embodiment, the sensing application is selected from chemical, humidity, piezoelectric, radiation, mechanical strain or temperature.

Pyrolyzed-parylene based sensors and method of manufacture

A sensor capable of simply and quickly measuring the electrical activities of a number of cells simultaneously and a device comprising the sensor and capable of detecting the signal transmission between subject cells are provided. The sensor comprises a plurality of electrodes provided on a substrate. The electrodes individually measure a signal generated by a biological sample held by each of the electrodes. Each of the electrodes comprises a depression for holding the biological sample, a throughhole which is in communication with the depression and penetrates to a rear side of the substrate, an electrode portion, and a drawing line from the electrode portion. The electrodes are arranged so that the samples held by the depressions electrically communicate with one another.

Signal detecting sensor provided with multi-electrode

An apparatus integrating system such as a product shipping line includes a group of integrated apparatus each provided with a memory device for storing conditions of its operation, an input device through which conditions of operation for the group of apparatus can be set, a display device for displaying conditions and actual modes of operation of the apparatus group and control devices for controlling the apparatus group. Data are exchanged among the control devices of the apparatus through a communication device. Instead of providing a memory device to each apparatus, a master memory may be provided to only one or some of the apparatus or separately and away from the group of apparatus. The user can operate on the input device of any of the apparatus to set not only the conditions of operation of that apparatus but also the conditions of operation of the other apparatus through the communication device.

Apparatus integrating system

A waterproof automatic weighing apparatus comprising a case hermetically sealed by means of sealing members, internal components lodged in this case, and external components arranged outside this case. The internal components include weight sensing elements, driving sections for opening and closing hopper gates, electromagnetic vibrator sections, and a control unit having an electrical circuit. The external components include a dispersion table, feed troughs, pool hoppers, weighing hoppers, and, as needed memory hoppers. Each of the internal components is hermetically connected to the corresponding external component.

Waterproof automatic weighing apparatus

A double-gated pool hopper is disposed above a pair of single-gated weigh hoppers such that articles in the pool hopper can be selectably discharged into either of the weigh hoppers by opening and closing the corresponding one of the two gates of the pool hopper. A single stepping motor controls the selective opening and closing of the two gates of the pool hopper by rotating in one direction or the other and another single stepping motor controls the selective opening and closing of the gates of the pair of weigh hoppers by rotating in one direction or the other.

Hopper gate opening and closing device for an automatic weighing

A weight sensing apparatus has a weight sensor provided with a load cell for producing an output signal indicative of the weight of an article, and a support for supporting the weight sensor. The apparatus includes oscillation sensing means provided in the vicinity of the load cell for producing an output signal indicative of an oscillation component caused by floor oscillation, a summing amplifier for adding the output signal from the load cell and a signal which is the inverse of the output signal from the oscillation sensing means, and signal processing means for processing the output of the summing amplifier to remove an oscillation component contained in the output signal from the load cell. The oscillation component is caused by oscillation received by the weight sensor from its surroundings.

Weight sensing apparatus

A combinational weighing system with a plurality of article batch handling means has an article feeding means for feeding articles to be weighed into the individual article batch handling means, and after a desired combination or weights within a preselected range is determined by a computer, the article batches from the selected article batch handling means are discharged together to be made into a package. The system also includes a means for measuring the weight of the article accumulated on the article feeding means and the output signal from such a weight-measuring means is transmitted to control the operation of a conveyor for supplying the articles to the article feeding means.

Automatic weighing system

An automatic combinatorial weighing apparatus includes a double collection chute assembly disposed in delivery paths for passage of articles to be weighed. The double collection chute assembly includes an inner collection chute having an outlet and a pair of outer collection chutes having respective outlets, the outlets being connected to timing hoppers, respectively. Articles flow down the inner and outer collection chutes at as equal speeds and in as equal times as possible, the speeds being increased as much as possible, due to valleys created by flat plates which form the chutes. To prevent an increase in noise produced by hitting engagement of the articles with the chutes as the articles flow down the chutes at high speeds, a vibration damper having a vibration-restriction damping capability is disposed in an area of the delivery paths for damping the vibration to suppress the noise.

Automatic combinatorial weighting apparatus

A combinational weighing system with a plurality of article batch handling units is controlled so that a high-speed dual or multiple packaging unit can be coupled and its capability can be utilized advantageously. For each cycle of the system operation, three or more combinations are selected by combinational computations on the weight values of article batches and they are discharged to the packaging unit through two discharge routes or more but fewer than the number of the selected combinations. This has the effect of discharging through each discharging route more than once per cycle.

Combinational weighing method and apparatus therefor with multiple

A separating chute system providing two discharge passage routes includes an inner chute having an upper chute section in the shape of an inverted frustrum of a cone, and a lower chute section. A pair of outer chutes are shaped to cover the outer periphery of the inner chute and are disposed around the outer surface of said inner chute. A first discharge chute mounted below the lower chute section of the inner chute is inclined radially outwardly of the inner chute, and a second discharge chute mounted below the pair of outer chutes collects weighed articles passing through the outer chutes into one passage and discharges them to the outside.
