The present invention is a method of mounting flexible circuit boards including: electrode groups formed on an insulating substrate; terminal groups formed in the vicinity of at least one side of the insulating substrate in such a manner as to be connected to outside at the electrode ends of the electrode groups; and terminals to be connected to the terminal groups; and a plurality of flexible circuit boards equipped with driver circuits inputting signals to the electrode groups via the terminals, wherein the method includes the step of mounting the flexible circuit boards on the insulating substrate in a manner that the flexible circuit boards share overlap regions with adjacent flexible circuit boards.

The liquid crystal display of the present invention includes: a first insulating substrate as an array substrate; display pixels formed in such a manner as to be arranged in array like shape on the first insulating substrate, said display pixels having pixel electrodes electrically connected to each other; a counter substrate formed on a second insulating substrate on which common electrodes are formed; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate, the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate being bonded each other; a transfer electrode for supplying a common electrical potential to common electrodes on the second insulating substrate through a conductive material; wherein the transfer electrode is formed by patterning a conductive thin film that has been formed by the last conductive film forming process of the first insulating substrate; wherein a second conductive metal film, which has been formed in the second conductive film forming process of the first insulating substrate, and is connected to the common electrode potential, and the conductive thin film are connected to each other on the periphery of the transfer electrode through a contact hole or through a direct contact, and the conductive thin film is directly formed on the first insulating substrate at one portion of the center portion of the opening of the transfer electrode.

An active matrix liquid crystal display of (2&times;1) dot inversion driving system, wherein in a case where the active matrix display is driven, voltage is applied to the pixels in such a manner that polarity is changed every source line in the horizontal direction and every two gate lines in the vertical direction. Further, a plurality of pixels is provided with a switching element, and charging characteristics of the pixels are made uniform both at the time of selecting the n-th line gate wire at which the polarity of the source potential is inverted and at the time of selecting the (n&plus;1)th line gate wire at which no inversion is made in the source potential, whereby unevenness in luminance occurring in each line in raster display can be reduced.

A current sense amplifier circuit is provided with a reference current generator for generating a reference current according to the characteristics of a memory cell, and a current comparator, and the current comparator compares the memory cell current with the reference current. Thereby, the range of the operating power supply voltage is increased. Further, a current sense amplifier circuit is provided with plural sets of reference current generators and current comparators, and the reference current generators generate reference currents of different amounts corresponding to plural states the memory cell can take, and the current comparators compare the respective reference currents with the memory cell current. Therefore, it is possible to detect the current in the memory cell that is set in multiple states.
