Provided is a defect judging unit for a measuring probe including: a stylus; four detection elements; and a signal processing part. The defect judging unit includes a defect judging part configured to compare four judged signals corresponding to the generated signals with predetermined thresholds when the object to be measured and the contact part are out of contact with each other and judge that a defect exists if any of the judged signals is greater than the predetermined threshold, and a judged result output part configured to output a judged result of the defect judging part. According to this configuration, the defect judging unit of the measuring probe and the defect judging method thereof capable of ensuring measurement reliability with a simple configuration are provided.

Defect judging unit of measuring probe and defect judging method thereof

In a probe unit having a measuring probe, a signal processing circuit includes: a signal synthesizing portion configured to process an output of a detection element to output a composite signal obtained by synthesizing displacement components of a contact part in three directions perpendicular to one another; and a signal outputting portion configured to output a digital touch signal to the outside of the probe unit when the composite signal satisfies a predetermined threshold condition. The signal outputting portion includes three comparing portions each configured to compare a threshold condition with the composite signal. When the measuring probe measures the object to be measured, the signal outputting portion outputs the digital touch signal corresponding to outputs of the first and second comparing portions. Thus, there can be provided a probe unit and a measuring system that can stably make measurements with high accuracy while keeping high noise resistance.

Probe unit and measuring system

A coordinate measuring probe body includes a rigid probe body structure including an upper mounting portion, a compliant element mounting frame, and an axial extension portion between them. A stylus suspension portion includes compliant elements that suspend a moving element from the compliant element mounting frame. A displacement sensing arrangement that senses displacement of the moving element includes displacement sensors that output a respective displacement signals. A circuit board assembly that receives the displacement signals has three component mounting portions which are interconnected with a flexible circuit component, and located around the axial extension portion. In various embodiments, all of the compliant elements are located on a distal side of the circuit board assembly.

Coordinate measurement probe body

A measuring probe includes two supporting members, each having a rotationally symmetric shape and allowing for an attitude change of a stylus, in an axial direction of a probe housing. Four detection elements are disposed at fourfold symmetric positions in one of the two supporting members that includes four deformable arm parts. A signal processing circuit includes a first processing part that processes outputs of the detection elements to output three displacement signals representing displacement components of a contact part in mutually perpendicular three directions, respectively. The measuring probe capable of reducing measurement directional dependency of sensitivity with a simple configuration while maintaining high sensitivity is thus provided.

Measuring probe

A measuring probe includes: a stylus having a contact part to be brought into contact with an object to be measured; a probe housing capable of supporting the stylus on an axial center; and a detection element capable of detecting a movement of the contact part. The measuring probe further includes: two supporting members disposed in an axial direction of the probe housing, the supporting member allowing for an attitude change of the stylus; and a coupling shaft for coupling the two supporting members together. The detection element is disposed in one of the two supporting members that is farthest away from a rotational center position of rotation generated in the stylus when a measuring force is applied to the contact part from a direction perpendicular to the axial direction, to detect a strain amount of the one of the two supporting members.

A probe microscope includes a cantilever having a probe for contact with an object, first and second displacement detection optical systems, and an object lens. The first displacement detection optical system includes a first light source and a first displacement detecting section that detects displacement of the cantilever. The second displacement detection optical system includes a second light source and a second displacement detecting section that detects displacement of the object. The object lens is provided between the cantilever and the first light source and between the cantilever and the second light source. The object lens has a focal position for the light that is emitted from the first light source and has a first wavelength at the position of the cantilever and has a focal position for the light that is emitted from the second light source and has a second wavelength at the position of the object.

Probe microscope

A probe microscope includes a cantilever having a probe, a displacement detecting optical system, an observation optical system, an objective lens, and a parallel glass. The displacement detecting optical system includes a first light source and a light detecting element. The observation optical system includes a second light source, an image forming lens, and a camera. The objective lens is disposed between the cantilever and the first and second light sources, and is commonly used by the displacement detecting optical system and the observation optical system. The parallel glass is capable of being inserted and retracted freely between the cantilever and the objective lens to adjust a focal point of the objective lens.

A shape measuring apparatus includes a probe for scanning across a surface to be measured, while vibrating up and down; a minute-vibration generation section for vibrating the probe up and down; a vertical movement control section for moving the probe up and down to keep a constant contact force or a constant distance between the surface to be measured and the probe; a scanning section for scanning the surface to be measured with the probe; a displacement sensor for measuring the vertical displacement of the probe and outputting a probe displacement signal; and a signal processing section for obtaining information about the contact force or the distance between the surface to be measured and the probe from a high-frequency component of the probe displacement signal, and for obtaining information about profile of the surface to be measured from a low-frequency component of the signal obtained when the surface to be measured is scanned such that the distance or the contact force is kept constant.

Shape measuring apparatus

A measuring apparatus comprising: a reference member held in fixed position and orientation with respect to a workpiece during measurement; a stylus for scanning a surface of the workpiece while being displaced upward and downward in accordance with unevenness of the surface of the workpiece; a displacement gauge for measuring a displacement of a specific part of the stylus relative to the reference member; and a scanner for causing the stylus to scan the workpiece along the surface; wherein the fixed position and orientation of the reference member with respect to the workpiece are not changed even during the operation of the scanner; the up-and-down displacement of the specific part of the stylus is measured relative to the reference member; a fine shape of the workpiece is detected in accordance with the measured displacement of the specific part of the stylus.

Measuring apparatus

A reseat system of a touch signal probe includes a fixed component, a movable component, a pair of hard balls provided on the fixed component, a cylindrical body provided on the movable component for abutting the hard balls, and a piezoelectric element for relatively sliding the hard balls and the cylindrical body. Since an outer circumference of the cylindrical body has conic shape, both a contact point on the cylindrical body and a contact point on a hard ball change position thereof during relative slide movement.

Reseat system of touch signal probe

A reseat system capable of restraining reseat shift in returning from escape movement and thus capable of obtaining reseat return accuracy without adding separate mechanism is provided. A locus drawn by a tip of a stylus when the stylus moves parallel to an axis thereof at a rest position while a hard ball on a fixed component is in contact with a cylindrical body on a movable-component having the stylus is inclined in a direction of a biasing force. When a pressing force is applied to the movable component, since a reaction force against the pressing force is generated at a contact point of the cylindrical body and the hard ball, reseat shift of the movable component can be restrained.

Reseat system for touch probe in coordinates measuring machine

An inside of a U-shaped frame of a micrometer is made of a material having a smaller linear thermal expansion coefficient than an outside of the U-shaped configuration. Furthermore, a spindle can be made of a material having an extremely small linear thermal expansion coefficient. Accordingly, thermal deformation of the micrometer can be made smaller, and measurement accuracy is maintained even under a widely changing temperature.
