Methods of culturing cells capable of producing desired proteins to obtain the proteins by use of a medium from which biological components are excluded as much as possible are provided. Specifically, a culture method characterized by culturing while maintaining a specific amino acid in a culture solution at a high concentration, and a cell culture fed-batch medium for use in the method are provided.

Disclosed is a culture medium for culturing an animal cell, which is characterized by containing a peptide comprising, as a constituent unit, an amino acid residue selected from the amino acid group consisting of serine, tyrosine and cysteine. The culture medium is suitable for the high level production of a protein by an animal cell.

To provide a novel cyclohexane derivative, a cyclohexane derivative is defined by the formula (I) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof: ##STR1## (wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be the same or different from each other and each represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sup.3 represents optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted heteroaryl; X represents oxygen or sulfur; and Y represents a group represented by the formula: ##STR2## or the like). A triazolo-1,4-di-azepine compound of the below given formula and a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof are useful in the pharmaceutical field, especially in treating allergic diseases. ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are hydrogen or an alkyl, R.sup.3 is hydrogen or a halogen, R.sup.4 is hydrogen or an alkyl, X is --OCO--, and Y is a cycloalkyl, a cycloalkylalkyl, an alkynyl or others.

A benzothiazol compound having the formula is disclosed and is effective to inhibit the production of leukotriene. It is useful against allergy, asthma, affections of the skin, allergic rhinitis and affection of a cardiovascular system. ##STR1## in which R20 is ester or amide and --NR5R6 is amino in variety.

Novel pyranochromone derivatives having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents hydrogen atom, an alkali metal or an alkyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms; R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 represent hydrogen atom or an alkyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms respectively, provided that both R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are not hydrogen atom at the same time; R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 represent an alkyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms respectively; and R.sub.7 represents hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, an alkyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms or an alkoxyl group containing 1-4 carbon atoms. The novel medicaments comprising predominantly the above derivative are effective for the treatment of allergic diseases.
