Provided is a sensor system which can detect a thickness reduction, a crack, or the like of a pipe or a container covered with a thick coating member through ultrasonic inspection without attachment and detachment of the coating member. A sensor system used for nondestructive inspection includes a sensor attached to a surface of an inspection target, a sensor coil that is electrically connected to the sensor via a first cable, a first electromagnetic wave blocking member that is disposed between the surface of the inspection target and the sensor coil, a sensor side coil that is disposed to face the sensor coil with a gap and is coupled to the sensor coil through electromagnetic induction, and a probe side coil that is disposed to be separated from the sensor side coil and is electrically connected to the sensor side coil via a second cable.

Sensor system

A method for improving a residual stress in a pipe includes improving the residual stress in the inner surface to the compressive direction by rapid cooling of the inner surface after heating of the pipe. The heating is to heat a vicinity of a welded part of the pipe from the outer surface to raise the temperature to a construction temperature. The rapid cooling is to rapidly cool the inner surface in the vicinity of the welded part by supplying cooling water into the pipe. The heating and the rapid cooling are repeated twice or more. A method for construction management includes determining whether construction has been executed properly based on a maximum value of a lowering rate of an outer surface temperature of the pipe when the cooling water is supplied for the rapid cooling of the inner surface and a thickness of the pipe in a measuring position of the outer surface temperature.

Method for improving residual stress in pipe and method for construction management

In implementing an induction heating stress improvement (IHSI) method in a nuclear plant, cooling characteristic with respect to the inner surface of piping is improved by appropriate structure/layout of nozzles, and further, the cooling effect when applying IHSI to a real machine is verified by installing a thermometer, as well as air in the portion subjected to IHSI is removed by heating the piping prior to the execution of IHSI.

Induction heating stress improvement

A fuel assembly having a plurality of fuel rods arranged in a square lattice array. The fuel rods include a plurality of short-length fuel rods each having a fuel active length shorter than that of each of remaining ones of the fuel rods. At least one water rod is arranged in a region in which one or more of the fuel rods are arrangeable in the array, and a plurality of fuel spacers are provided at a plurality of positions in the axial direction for holding the plurality of fuel rods and the at least one water rod, with mutual radial intervals therebetween being kept immovable. The plurality of short-length fuel rods include at least one first short-length fuel rod arranged in the outermost peripheral region of the square lattice array. Each of the plurality of fuel spacers include a plurality of cylindrical members.

Fuel assembly

A preventive maintenance method and apparatus for a structural member in a reactor pressure vessel according to the present invention reduce a tensile residual stress on a surface of the structural member by impinging a water jet from a nozzle onto a plane surface of a deflector to thereby change direction of flow of the water jet, and impinging the water jet after being deflected onto the surface of the structural member. This method and apparatus are applicable to a narrow space portion, and can improve a residual stress on the surface of the structural member and can also prevent damage such as stress corrosion cracking.

In a thickness reducing management for pipes in pipe lines, limited proper parameters which cause erosion and corrosion of the pipes are selected and with these parameters a pipe thickness reducing speed evaluation model formulas are constructed, and by making use of the model formulas thickness reducing amount of the pipes is evaluated. Thereby, conventional difficulty of formulating a proper pipe thickness reducing estimation model formula in view of actual pipe material and pipe inner fluid state because of too many possibly influential parameters causing pipe thickness reducing due to erosion and corrosion, and conventional difficulty of performing highly reliable pipe thickness reducing management are overcome.

Thickness reducing management system for pipes in pipe lines

A fuel assembly, particularly, a fuel assembly including short-length fuel rods and fuel spacers, is used for a boiling water reactor, which is capable of sufficiently reducing the pressure loss of at least one of the fuel spacers positioned above the upper ends of the short-length fuel rods, irrespective of the arrangement of the short-length fuel rods, and also ensuring the structural strength of the fuel spacer. The fuel assembly includes fuel rods located in a square lattice array, two water rods arranged in a region in which seven of the fuel rods are arrangeable, two fuel spacers for holding the fuel rods and the water rods with mutual intervals kept immovable. Each of the fuel spacers includes cells which are connected to each other and in which the fuel rods are to be inserted, respectively, and a band for surrounding the outermost peripheries of the cells. The short-length fuel rods include four first short-length fuel rods arranged in the outermost peripheral region of the square lattice array. One of the fuel spacers, positioned upward from the upper ends of the short-length fuel rods, is configured such that the cells located at lattice positions associated with the first short-length fuel rods are removed and instead supporting members, each being adapted to connect two of the cells adjacently located on both sides of each of the lattice positions in the outermost peripheral region to the band, are provided at the lattice positions.

The lower end of each of a plurality of fuel rods is supported by a fuel supporting portion of a lower tie plate. The fuel supporting portion includes a plurality of second coolant paths for supplying a coolant from below the fuel supporting portion to a first coolant path defined above the fuel supporting portion and between the fuel rods. The total cross-sectional area of all the second coolant paths is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first coolant path. A water rod disposed between the fuel rods each includes an ascending tube path having therein a coolant ascending path having a coolant inlet port opening to a region below the fuel supporting portion, for guiding upward the coolant supplied through the coolant inlet port, and a descending tube having therein a coolant descending path having a coolant delivery port opening to said first coolant path, for guiding downward the coolant guided by said coolant ascending path and discharging the coolant through the coolant delivery port to the first coolant path. The descending tube path is so disposed outside the ascending tube path as to define a gap, through which the coolant inside the first coolant path flows, between it and the ascending tube path.

A corrosive environment sensor comprises an elongate metal member having a pair of beam portions, each extending in a length direction between first and second ends of the metal member, and having a crack growth portion formed therein and extending in the length direction of the metal member from a crack starting end toward the second end, wherein the crack starting end is at an intermediate position between the first and second ends of the metal member and is between the pair of beam portions, a changeable load member having an expansible chamber disposed between the beam portion around the first end of the metal member and a means for supplying pressurized fluid to the expansible chamber. The changeable load member applies a load to the crack growth portion and the means for supplying pressurized fluid to the expansible chamber is responsible for ensuring that the displacement of the beam portions is accomplished in such a manner so as to provide a constant stress intensity factor at a crack growing point.

Corrosive environment sensor, corrosive environment measuring apparatus

A fuel assembly comprises a plurality of fuel rods, tie plates for holding both ends of these fuel rods, and spacers which support these fuel rods. The spacer comprises a plurality of cells into which the fuel rods are inserted respectively, the adjacent cells being joined to each other at axial ends thereof, whereby a space between these cells being held or retained, and a plurality of loop springs held respectively on the cells. Each of the loop springs has a pair of resilient members which are located within the pair of adjacent cells and which urge the fuel rods in a radial direction, and a pair of connections which connect axial ends of the resilient members to each other. Each of the connections have a passage through which coolant flows axially and which is defined by a closed peripheral wall. The closed peripheral wall is not uniform in thickness. The pair of adjacent cells have at axial end portions of peripheral walls openings for accommodating or receiving the connections of the loop spring.

A corrosive environment sensor comprises an elongate member having a pair of elongate beam portions and a crack growth portion formed between the pair of beam portions so as to extend axially, and a wedge inserted between the pair of beam portions, wherein the crack growth portion has width thereof defined by quadratic curves extending axially so as to decrease from an axially intermediate portion of the sensor member to an axially intermediate portion of the crack growth portion and increase from the axially intermediate portion of the crack growth portion toward an end of the sensor member. The quadratic curves each consist of a first circular arc with first radius between the axially intermediate portion of the sensor member and the axially intermediate portion of the crack growth portion and a second circular arc with second radius less than the first radius between the axially intermediate portion of the crack growth portion and around the second end of the sensor member. There are further disclosed a corrosive environment measuring apparatus employing the above-mentioned corrosive environment sensor, and a corrosive environment control system employing the above-mentioned corrosive environment measuring apparatus.
