A left-eye image signal and a right-eye image signal are supplied to a pixel structure converter of a stereoscopic image pre-processor, and multiplexed, so to form one image, an interlace image is formed by a frame/field converter, encoded in an MPEG format by an MPEG encoding unit, stored into a storage and transmitted outward by a transmitting/recording unit. A video/audio data coding circuit receives video/audio signals and compresses and multiplexes them. A recording signal processing circuit shuffles the audio/video data, adds ECCs, and codes them for recording. A CPU control circuit controls a control ECC block addition circuit to generate control ECC blocks and sends them to the recording signal processing circuit. At the same time, the CPU control circuit controls an optical head and a spindle motor. The data is written onto a disc by the optical head. And, after editing, the control ECC blocks are written. Channel bits &ldquo;100000010&rdquo; as a special pattern are allotted to data bits having 6 bits which are the continuation of alternate 3 patterns of data bits to be encoded to channel bits &ldquo;010&rdquo; and data bits to be encoded to channel bits &ldquo;10X&rdquo;.

By virtue of this constitution, realization of writing at a low and constant number of revolutions of the disk simultaneously with writing at a constant writing wavelength can increase the storage capacity per disk.

However, when an unauthorized person lacking the scramble decoder decodes the descrambled data, the person is allowed to see only some patterns included in a picture. This will successfully encourage the unauthorized person to make subscription so as to enjoy the complete video/audio data.
