A front spoiler arrangement installed at the front end section lower part of an automotive vehicle body. The front spoiler arrangement is comprised of a retractable spoiler fin supported by a pair of swingable arms which are spaced from each other and driven respectively by a pair of drive mechanism. Each swingable arm is securely connected at one end section thereof to the spoiler fin and at the other end section thereof to a rotatable drive shaft of each drive mechanism in such a manner that a mount rubber is interposed between the swingable arm and the drive shaft, thereby permitting lateral movement of the swingable arm relative to the drive shaft.

Front spoiler arrangement

In a vehicle roof structure having a sliding roof lid which is supported on a stationary roof frame through a support member fixed to the underside of the lid so that the lid can be opened by tilting the lid and sliding the lid rearwardly over the roof, there is provided a cam mechanism for tilting the lid by receiving a rearward motion of a drive slider which is slidably mounted on a rail member and driven back and forth by a motor. The cam mechanism includes a cam slot which is formed in the support member and inclined with respect to the rail member, and a tilt pin which is formed in the drive slider and slidably received in the cam slot. The rail member has a first rail groove extending along the rail member and a recess depressed below the first rail groove. The support member has a front main portion which is fixed to an underside of a front portion of the lid and formed with the cam slot, and a rear extension extending from the front main portion to a rear end of the support member toward a rear end of the lid. The front main portion of the support member having a front sliding portion slidably received in the first rail groove of the rail member, and a rear sliding portion slidably received in the first rail groove when the support member slides along the rail member. The rear sliding portion being sunk in the recess and the rear end of the support member being received in the first rail grooves when the support member is in the closed position.

Vehicle roof structure having sliding roof lid

An open-top type vehicle roof structure is composed of a frame structure having left and right roof openings separated by a longitudinal center beam, and left and right removable roof lids closing the left and right openings and concealing the center beam under the roof surface. Front and rear latch plates are fixed to the underside of each latch plate near the inner end. The center beam is provided with front and rear receiving members each of which is fixed on the top of center beam, and formed with left and right latch holes for receiving the latch plates of the left and right lids. Each of the latch plates may be formed with an upward flange for preventing an undesired release of the lid by engaging with one of downward flanges of one receiving member, or may be formed with a rectangular corner cut for receiving the projecting end of the opposite latch plate.

Vehicle roof structure having left and right removable roof lids

A roof structure of a vehicle is composed of left and right removable roof lids, and a frame having front and rear portions, a longitudinal center beam connecting the front and rear portions, and left and right roof openings which are separated by the center beam between the front and rear portions, and closed by the left and right roof lids. Front and rear receiving members each having left and right latch holes are fixedly mounted on the center beam. Front and rear L-shaped latch plates are fixed to the underside of an inboard portion of each lid so that the front and rear latch plates are inserted in the latch holes of the front and rear receiving members, interlocking with each other, for securing the lid to the frame. Each of the receiving members further has a top wall which is formed with a stopper projection projecting upwardly. Each lid further has front and rear slider members of resin which abut against the stopper projections of the front and rear receiving members in installing and removing the lid to facilitate installation and removal.
