A body of a seal ring is in an annular shape and includes an abutment joint at a location in the circumferential direction. The opposite ends of the body forming the abutment joint include an overlapping part where one end and the other end of the body overlap each other. The overlapping part includes a step cut joint that forms an overlap in the radial direction and a lap joint that forms an overlap in the plate thickness direction. Facing faces that face each other in the plate thickness direction in the lap joint are planes extending from an inner peripheral circular arc of the seal ring up to an outer peripheral circular arc of the seal ring.

EGR valve including seal ring

The present disclosure provides a valve device including a housing, a shaft, a butterfly valve, and a sealing member. The butterfly valve has a disk shape and defines a groove formed on an outer circumferential surface. The butterfly valve is fixed to the shaft and housed in a passage in the housing to selectively open and close the passage. The sealing member has an annular shape and fit into the groove. The outer circumferential surface of the sealing member has an arc surface having a diameter equal to the diameter of the passage. The arc surface comes into contact with the inner wall of the passage when the passage is closed.

Valve device

A valve apparatus performs at least one of a first operation in which an electric motor is energized in a valve-close direction and a rotation shaft is rotated until its rotation is stopped and a second operation in which the electric motor is deenergized and a valve is fully closed by a biasing force of a return spring. Thereby, a rotation angle of the rotation shaft becomes a rotation-stop angle or the rotation angle becomes in the backlash range, so that a biasing force of the return spring is not transmitted to the rotation shaft. Then, the electric motor generates a specified torque, which is less than a valve-opening torque by which the valve starts opening. Thereby, a rotation angle of the rotation shaft can be stopped at a full-close angle. The full-close angle can be made correspond to an output of a rotational angle sensor.

Valve apparatus

In an exhaust system for an internal combustion engine, an output member is configured to transmit power generated by a motor to a valving element via a valve stem. An output shaft is disposed on a rotation central axis of an output gear and coupled with the output gear to be rotatable integrally therewith. A follower is disposed eccentrically relative to a rotation central axis of the output shaft and connected to the output shaft to be rotatable integrally therewith. A first accommodating chamber accommodates at least the valve stem and the follower. A second accommodating chamber accommodates at least the motor and the output gear. A housing includes a housing wall that divides the first chamber from the second chamber. The housing wall includes a first bearing slidably supporting the output shaft in its rotation direction, and a cylindrical first bearing holder holding outer periphery of the first bearing.

Exhaust system for internal combustion engine

An arm portion is integrally formed with a housing. The arm portion protrudes from the housing in such a manner as not to be in contact with a passage-forming portion and a passage-side fastening portion. The arm portion has corner portions and a drive-side fastening portion. After a heat of EGR gas is transferred to the drive-side fastening portion, the heat is transferred to the housing through the corner portions. The arm portion elongates a heat transfer pass from the EGR gas to the driving portion to increase a resistance of heat transfer. Further, the arm portion increases a heat radiation surface area to increase a heat radiation quantity. The EGR apparatus can restrict a heat transfer from the EGR gas to the driving portion.

EGR apparatus

An axial groove is provided in an inner peripheral wall surface of a motor case of a housing of a motor actuator, and a spring installation opening is provided to the axial groove at a location adjacent to an opening end of a motor receiving hole of the motor case, which receives a motor. A damper spring is inserted into the groove through the spring installation opening. The damper spring urges the motor against first and second ridges formed in the inner peripheral wall surface of the motor case.

Motor actuator having electric motor received in housing

A valve device includes a control valve for manipulating a communication between a first fluid channel and a second fluid channel. The valve device further includes a pressure sensor for detecting pressure in the first fluid channel. The pressure sensor is provided on a side face defining the first fluid channel. The pressure sensor has a pressure detection face directly opposed to the first fluid channel. The pressure detection face is substantially in parallel with a first axis of the first fluid channel.

Valve device and secondary air supply system having the same

A torque-transmitting device is advantageously applied to a secondary air control valve mounted on an automotive vehicle. The device includes a gear train for reducing a rotational speed of a motor and a mechanism for converting a rotational motion to a linear motion of a valve shaft. The gear train includes a final gear coupled to the valve shaft, and the final gear includes a flange positioned at an axial end of an axis of the final gear. A coil spring for biasing the final gear toward a predetermined position is disposed next to the flange and around the axis of the final gear. Slits or holes are formed through the flange, so that holding jigs for holding the coil spring are inserted, in an assembling process, into a cylindrical space between an inner circumference of the coil spring and the axis of the final gear.

Torque-transmitting device for use in air control valve

In an idle speed control valve, an adjusting screw is inserted into a hole of a valve body and passes through a center of a coil provided in the valve body. The adjusting screw has a ring-shaped flexible projection on its outer periphery between a head portion and a threaded portion thereof to prevent a sealing material from entering. An outer diameter of the projection is equal to or slightly larger than an inner diameter of the hole. Therefore, when the adjusting screw is inserted into the hole, a peak of the projection contacts an inner wall of the hole. The projection may be integrally molded with the adjusting screw. A ring-shaped projection may be provided on a thin wall portion of the adjusting screw.

Idle speed control valve

A fluid controlling electromagnetic valve is formed by mechanically fixing one axial end portion of a stator core to an annular portion of a yoke, after the primary molding of a coil bobbin, and by sandwiching flanges of the coil bobbin having a coil wound by a predetermined number of turns around the outer circumference of a guide portion, between the rear end face of the annular portion of the yoke and front end face of an annular magnetic plate. A secondary molding is performed including a piece for regulating the axial moving distance of a valve member, to mold a housing of the fluid controlling electromagnetic valve.

Electromagnetic valve

A valve member includes a first communication passage for allowing a first passage to communicate with a first pressure chamber. When a pressure-receiving member contacts the valve member, a communication between the first communication passage and the first pressure chamber is shut. Magnetic force of a permanent magnet urges a shaft toward the pressure-receiving member. While a coil is not energized, when pressure inside a second passage rises, the pressure-receiving member leaves the valve member due to pressure difference between pressure inside the first pressure chamber and pressure inside a second pressure chamber, so that the first passage communicates with the second passage through the first communication passage. When the coil is energized, magnetic repelling force is introduced between a stator core and the permanent magnet, so that the pressure-receiving member and the shaft depart from the valve member to allow the first passage to communicate with the second passage.
