Provided is a power conversion device with which a region in which an electronic component is mountable in a first printed wiring board of a first substrate can be enlarged. The power conversion device includes a power module installing member, a power module, a bus bar assembly, a first substrate provided on the bus bar assembly, and a second substrate provided on the bus bar assembly. The first substrate includes a first printed wiring board, and a signal terminal connector and a first board-to-board connection connector which are each provided on the first printed wiring board. The second substrate includes a second printed wiring board and a second board-to-board connection connector provided on the second printed wiring board. The signal terminal connector is connected to a signal terminal of the power module. The first board-to-board connection connector and the second board-to-board connection connector are connected to each other.

Power conversion device including substrates with connectors

An electric-power conversion apparatus has a heat sink in which one side portion out of a pair of side portions that extend in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of a motor is formed shorter than the other side portion thereof; a lower case to which the heat sink is fixed is fastened to a driving apparatus through the intermediary of fixing portions at the both end portions of each of the pair of side portions of the heat sink or at respective positions in the vicinity of the both end portions of each of the pair of side portions of the heat sink; at least one of a reactor and capacitors is disproportionately disposed to be closer to said one side portion than to said the other side portion of the heat sink.

Electric-power conversion apparatus

The present application provides a resin-molded capacitor such that heat generated by a capacitor element can be efficiently dissipated, and a power conversion device. The resin-molded capacitor includes a first bus bar and a second bus bar joined to a first capacitor electrode and a second capacitor electrode respectively of a capacitor element, an insulating member joined to at least one of the first capacitor electrode and the second capacitor electrode or at least one of the first bus bar and the second bus bar, and an electrically conductive member joined to the insulating member.

Resin-molded capacitor and power conversion device

A power conversion device includes a backup power source as a power source for a discharge controller that discharges electric charges of a capacitor, and an abnormal state in the backup power source or loads is not capable of being dealt with when power is supplied to loads from the backup power source, which makes an output voltage of the backup power source be in an abnormal state. In order to solve the problem, when an abnormality occurs in the backup power source or in loads and the abnormality is detected in power supply from the backup power source, a place where the abnormality occurs is specified. When the specified place where the abnormality occurs is a load, power supply to the load is stopped, thereby preventing the output voltage of the backup power source from being abnormal even when an abnormality occurs in part of power supply destinations.

Power conversion system

In order to achieve small noise and small vibration, as well as a small size and a low cost in a power converter including a capacitor module, there is provided a power converter including a power module and a capacitor module. The capacitor module includes: a plurality of capacitor elements each having a flat wound surface; an exterior case; a resin filler; and a restraint point. The exterior case has arranged therein an inclusion serving as a beam in a direction orthogonal to a flat wound surface of at least one capacitor element of the plurality of capacitor elements, and the at least one capacitor element, and the restraint point is arranged substantially in front of the flat wound surface via the inclusion.

Power converter

In inverter control for supplying power to a motor, a power conversion device includes a temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of the inverter, a voltage sensor for detecting a voltage between terminals of a capacitor that smooths the voltage between terminals between the power source and the inverter, an inverter controller for controlling the inverter, a rotation speed sensor for detecting a rotation speed of the motor, an electric current sensor for detecting electric current supplied to the motor and a discharge determination instruction controller for giving an instruction for discharging electric charges accumulated in the capacitor, in which, control of reducing the rotation speed of the motor and discharge control of the capacitor are performed in accordance with the temperature of the inverter, the rotation speed of the motor and the electric current supplied to the motor.

Power conversion device for controlling discharge of a capacitor

A power converting device includes a heat sink including a heat sink base portion on an upper face side of which a depressed portion forming a refrigerant channel is provided and a heat sink upper plate covering the depressed portion of the heat sink base portion, wherein the refrigerant channel is sealed using a channel seal provided in an outer peripheral portion of the heat sink upper plate, an upper case caused to cover an upper face side of the heat sink, a lower case caused to cover a lower face side of the heat sink, and a terminal block forming a waterproofing wall that encloses a power module projecting from an upper face of the heat sink upper plate between the power module on the heat sink upper plate and the channel seal in the upper case.

A liquid coolant supplying header is configured on a central portion in the width direction between an upper portion heatsink and a partitioning plate, a liquid coolant discharging header is configured on a central portion in the width direction between a lower portion heatsink and the partitioning plate so as to be parallel to the liquid coolant supplying header, vertical flow channels are formed so as to pass through the partitioning plate vertically on two sides in the width direction so as to be parallel to the liquid coolant supplying header, a liquid coolant distributing structural body is disposed inside the liquid coolant supplying header, and an external shape of the liquid coolant distributing structural body is formed such that flow channel cross-sectional area of the liquid coolant supplying header becomes gradually smaller from an upstream end toward a downstream end.

Cooling apparatus having vertical flow channels

When a motor rotation speed is equal to or greater than a predetermined rotation speed when an automobile collision is detected or when power stops, a motor rotation speed reduction control is carried out by an inverter control unit, and when an inter-terminal voltage of a secondary smoothing capacitor drops below a predetermined voltage during the motor rotation speed reduction control, the motor rotation speed reduction control is stopped, whereby induction voltage caused by motor rotation is applied to the secondary smoothing capacitor, the inter-terminal voltage of the secondary smoothing capacitor is raised, and the motor rotation speed reduction control is carried out while keeping the inter-terminal voltage of the secondary smoothing capacitor within an operating voltage range of the inverter control unit.

In a power conversion apparatus including first to fourth semiconductor switching elements connected in series across both terminals of a high voltage-side capacitor, the third and fourth semiconductor switching elements are connected across both terminals of a low voltage-side capacitor via a reactor, and both terminals of the second and third semiconductor switching elements are connected across a charging-discharging capacitor. This charging-discharging capacitor includes a plurality of capacitor elements connected in parallel via a first wiring and a second wiring. Inductance components or capacitance components of the plurality of capacitor elements when viewed from an outflow-inflow portion of the first wiring and an outflow-inflow portion of the second wiring are different from each other such that the charging-discharging capacitor does not have a parallel resonance point in a driving frequency band but has a parallel resonance point in a noise frequency band.

Power conversion apparatus

The passage from a cooling medium inlet to a cooling medium outlet of a cooler includes: an upstream cooling portion and a downstream cooling portion for cooling heat generating bodies; an upstream distribution portion located on the cooling medium inlet side; a downstream distribution portion located on the cooling medium outlet side; a connecting portion for connecting the upstream cooling portion and the downstream cooling portion; and a partition portion for partitioning the upstream cooling portion and the downstream cooling portion, and the upstream distribution portion and the downstream distribution portion. The passage is connected so that the cooling medium flows in order of the upstream distribution portion, the upstream cooling portion, the connecting portion, the downstream cooling portion, and the downstream distribution portion.

Electric power converter

A power converter has one set of two semiconductor switches performing switching actions, each of which is formed of an FET and a free wheel diode connected in anti-parallel to the FET, and a smoothing capacitor, and convers power by complementary switching actions of the FETs in the semiconductor switches. The power converter is provided with a current sensor that detects a direction of a current flowing through the semiconductor switches and a gate generation portion that skips ON signals of PWM gate signals of the semiconductor switches when the direction of the current flowing through the semiconductor switches is negative.

Power converter using a field effect transistor and a diode

In a power converter in which semiconductor modules are arranged on both surfaces of a cooler for downsizing, an excellent connection between control boards and a low inductance connection between smoothing capacitors and the semiconductor modules are performed at the same time. The semiconductor modules are disposed on both surfaces of the cooler, and control boards that control the semiconductor modules are arranged opposite to the respective semiconductor modules. The semiconductor modules and the cooler are held between the control boards. A current detector or a terminal block is disposed at a position perpendicular to a surface on which the cooler and the semiconductor modules contact each other, opposite to the cooler. The respective control boards disposed on both surfaces of the cooler are electrically connected by using wirings provided in the current detector or the terminal block.

A power conversion apparatus for vehicle use having a small size and a light weight is obtained. The power conversion apparatus is provided with: a plurality of semiconductor modules in which semiconductor devices are molded with a resin, and each of which has a module body, an input terminal, and an output terminal; a heat sink of a rectangular parallelepiped shape which has cooling principal planes on opposite surfaces thereof, respectively, for cooling these semiconductor modules; and a plurality of control boards which control the driving of the semiconductor modules. Each of the semiconductor modules is arranged such that its module body has a principal plane in surface contact with one of the cooling principal planes of the heat sink, and each of the control boards is arranged in opposition to a surface of the module body at an opposed side of the principal plane thereof.

Power conversion apparatus for vehicle use

A drive circuit wherein any abnormality of a semiconductor element is prevented from being erroneously sensed in a case where a gate 'ON' command has entered in a state in which a gate voltage of the semiconductor element has not lowered fully. A detection process for a controlled variable of the semiconductor element is permitted only within a period which corresponds to a controlled variable of the semiconductor element at the time when an 'ON' signal has been inputted to a control circuit, and a detected controlled variable which is detected within the period and a comparison controlled variable which is set in correspondence with the controlled variable are compared so as to output an abnormality signal, whereby the semiconductor element is turn-off at a speed lower than in normal turn-off.
