A radio communication apparatus, base station apparatus and communication terminal apparatus capable of predicting an accurate transmission rate before starting data communications to know download time and the like. In the apparatus, a packet CH demodulation section () demodulates received packet data. A pilot CH demodulation section () demodulates a received signal of a pilot channel. A reception state measuring section () measures the SIR from the received signal of the pilot channel. A transmission rate candidate selecting section () stores a calculation expression that associates CQI with SIR, and selects CQI by the calculation expression using the measured SIR. A transmission rate predicting section () averages selected CQI for a predetermined time to output a transmission rate prediction value. A transmission rate prediction control section () outputs information of the transmission rate prediction value to a display section () when detecting a key input. The display section () displays the transmission rate prediction value on a liquid crystal screen.

Received level measurement circuitperforms received level measurement using input despread traffic channel data. Received level measurement circuitperforms received level measurement using input despread common control channel data. These received levels are respectively output from received level measurement circuitsandto correlation circuit. Correlation circuitfirst performs correlation calculation between paths in respective profiles of the traffic channel and common control channel each generated based on respective received level. Based on the result of the correlation calculation, path selection is performed to determine a reception timing.

Communication terminal apparatus and radio reception method

A correlation calculating section calculates correlation values from a baseband signal from a radio receiving section . A delay profile generating section generates a delay profile based on the correlation value from a selecting section . A peak detecting section detects a peak correlation value and a peak phase from the delay profile, outputs the peak correlation value to a weighting section , and also outputs the peak phase to a correlation phase adjusting section and a demodulation control section . A correlation phase adjusting section adjusts a phase of a spreading code auto-correlation value in accordance with the peak phase, and the weighting section adjusts amplitude of the spreading code auto-correlation value subjected to phase adjustment in accordance with the peak correlation value. A correlation eliminating section eliminates the spreading code auto-correlation values subjected to phase adjustment from the correlation values.

Receiving apparatus and synchronization capturing method

A preliminary selection averaging section averages a small number of correlation values, a candidate code selecting section selects some spreading codes, each having a high average correlation value, as candidates of a real spreading code, an actual selection averaging section performs the averaging the correlation values of the respective candidate codes by use of the number of correlation values necessary for sufficiently restraining noise, and a maximum value detecting section estimates a spreading code, having a maximum correlation value, as a real spreading code. Thereby, time for an initial synchronization can be reduced without decreasing the accuracy of the spreading code estimation.
