A cup attaching apparatus for attaching a cup as a processing jig to an eyeglass lens including an illumination optical system including an illumination light source arranged to illuminate a side of the front surface of the lens by light from the light source; an imaging optical system including an imaging device and a retroreflection member placed on an opposite side from the light source with respect to the lens; an image processing device adapted to process an image signal from the imaging device to detect at least one of a mark point provided on a unifocal lens, a small lens portion of a bifocal lens, and a progressive mark provided on a progressive focal lens and obtain a position of the detected one; and an arithmetic control device adapted to determine an attaching position of the cup based on the position obtained by the image processing device.

The lens meter has a projection unit which projects a measurement light bundle, a projection lens which projects the measurement light bundle from the projection unit onto the subject lens placed on an optical axis of the projection lens, a diaphragm having an aperture disposed between the projection unit and the projection lens, and a two-dimensional photodetector which photo-receives the measurement light bundle passed through the subject lens after passed through the aperture of the diaphragm and the projection lens, and wherein the projection unit forms a target pattern, and the aperture of the diaphragm is disposed at a front focal point of the projection lens.

A lens meter for measuring optical characteristics of a subject lens to be measured includes at least three light sources for measurement, a projecting lens which projects measurement light bundles from the light sources onto the subject lens placed on a projecting-lens optical axis, a diaphragm having an aperture disposed at an anterior focal point of the projecting lens between the light sources and the projecting lens, and a two-dimensional photodetector photo-receiving the light bundles passing through the subject lens after passing through the aperture of the diaphragm and the projecting lens without the use of an image forming optical system, and the projecting lens is disposed so that the light sources is conjugate with the photodetector in a case where the subject lens with a specific diopter in the vicinity of 0D or a frequently-used specific diopter is placed on the optical axis.

A surface inspection apparatus for inspecting a surface of an object to be inspected, includes: a projecting optical system which projects an inspection light to the object surface via a reference surface; a pick up unit which picks up surface interference fringes formed by reflected light from the reference surface and reflected light from the object surface; and an arithmetic unit which calculates a shape of the surface of the object based on the picked up interference fringes. The projecting optical system includes a laser light source that emits, as the inspection light, pulsed laser light having a pulse width and a pulse quiescent time capable of preventing formation of rear face interference fringes which are formed by the reflected light from the object surface and reflected light caused by the inspection light being reflected from its rear face, the object allowing the inspection light to pass therethrough.
