A tape member includes a double-sided adhesive tape that can be pulled and peeled off by pulling an end portion, and a handle member that is attached to the end portion and gripped when the double-sided adhesive tape is pulled and peeled off. The handle member includes a first and second adhesive sheets fixed to first and second adhesive surfaces of the double-sided adhesive tape. The end portion is provided with a stopper edge portion extending in a direction intersecting a pulling direction at the time of pulling and peeling off. The handle member includes a hooking portion in which the first adhesive sheet and the second adhesive sheet are bonded to each other on the back side of the stopper edge portion in the pulling direction, and that is hooked on the stopper edge portion at the time of pulling and peeling off.

Tape member and electronic apparatus

An electronic apparatus includes: a first chassis and a second chassis; a hinge connecting the second chassis to the first chassis in a relatively rotatable manner; an electrical device including a display provided in the first chassis; a printed circuit board provided in the second chassis; and a flexible substrate for electrically connecting the electrical device and the printed circuit board, the first chassis including a rotating body that rotates coaxially with the hinge by a rotational movement with respect to the second chassis and has the flexible substrate passed therethrough, and the rotating body including: a first opening guiding the flexible substrate to the electrical device; a second opening guiding the flexible substrate to the printed circuit board; and a substrate opening through which the flexible substrate passes.

Electronic apparatus

An electronic apparatus is disclosed. The electronic apparatus includes a first chassis member, a second chassis member detachably connected to the first chassis member, a hook, which is supported in a floatable manner with respect to the first chassis member, protrudes from an inner surface of the first chassis member, and an engagement hole, which is provided on an inner surface of the second chassis member, is engageable with the hook.

Retractable touchpad devices and methods are provided. In general, an electronic device can include a retractable frame configured to move between a retracted configuration and an expanded configuration. In the retracted configuration, the frame can be contained within a base of the electronic device. In the expanded configuration, the frame can no longer be contained within the base, thereby allowing the frame to provide touchpad functionality when in the expanded configuration. The retractable frame can thus be configured to selectively provide touchpad functionality for the electronic device based on whether the frame is retracted or expanded. The retractable frame can be configured to be retracted in a variety of ways, such as by including a foldable member configured to be unfolded and folded so as to selectively provide touchpad access, or by including a slidable member configured to be slid so as to selectively provide touchpad access.

Retractable touchpad devices and methods

A flexible printed circuit (FPC) is provided comprising a base plate and a pair of elongated resin strips disposed on the base plate. The resin strips comprise conductive traces embedded between the resin strips and configured to electrically couple a first unit of an electronic device at a tail end of the resin strips with a second unit of the electronic device at an opposing end of the resin strips. The resin strips have edges having cutouts formed therein adjacent to the tail end.

Flexible printed circuit

Pointing devices and related methods are disclosed that generally involve manipulation of a cursor or other user interface component based on inputs from a user. In one embodiment, an image sensor captures an image of the underside of a transparent contact surface and determines whether an object (e.g., a user's finger) is present in the image. Cursor movement information comprising direction and velocity components can be calculated from a single image by equating the size of a detected object with a desired velocity and by equating the position of the detected object relative to a fixed reference point with a desired direction. Thus, detection of user motion is not required, nor is comparison of successive image frames relative to a time reference. As a result, a device having few or no moving parts can be provided while at the same time permitting continuous cursor motion without repetitive swiping by a user.

Pressure and position sensing pointing devices and methods

A computer system with an input assembly may include a fastener positioned through a bottom chassis and into a pre-existing opening of a pantograph. In a keyboard assembly, the fastener may couple to a boss axially aligned with the pantograph housed at least partially within a keyboard key. In a touchpad assembly, the fastener may couple to a boss axially aligned with the pantograph housed underneath a tactile sensing layer. The fastener may occupy the space in the pantograph without making contact with the key or tactile sensing layer as the key or tactile sensing layer is depressed.
