An occupant monitoring apparatus includes: an imaging unit; an illumination unit; a casing in which the imaging unit and the illumination unit are installed; optical films provided on driver's sides of the imaging unit and the illumination unit and optically adjusting incident light; a cover covering the imaging unit, the illumination unit, the casing, and the optical films; windows provided in the cover so as to face the optical films; supports provided on window frame portions; and supports provided in the casing so as to face the window frame portions. The supports provided in the casing support end portions of the optical films from the windows side. The supports provided on the window frame portions support the end portions from an imaging unit side or an illumination unit side. The optical films are sandwiched in the thickness direction.

Occupant monitoring apparatus

An occupant monitoring device images a driver in a vehicle by an imager, projects light toward a driver seat side by an illuminator, controls operation of the imager and the illuminator by a controller, monitors the driver, based on a captured image by the imager, and outputs a monitoring result. A main board on which the controller is mounted is contained in a housing, and a sub-board is held by a lid body configured to close an opening of the housing. The main board and the sub-board are electrically connected so that the imager and the illuminator mounted on the sub-board face the driver seat side. A water preventing cover covers the sub-board, the lid body, and the housing from the driver seat side, the water preventing cover having a transmitting portion configured to transmit projected light from the illuminator and reflected light from the driver.

Occupant monitoring device

A laser radar device includes: a projection part repeatedly performing processing of projecting measurement light that is of a pulsed laser beam to a predetermined monitoring area in a measurement period having a predetermined first length, the processing being repeated in c cycles (c&#x2267;2) in a detection period having a predetermined second length; a light receiver including n1 (n1&#x2267;2) light receiving elements and receiving reflected light of the measurement light in directions different from one another; a selector selecting light receiving signals of the n1 light receiving elements in each measurement period and output n2 (n2&#x2267;2) light receiving signals; a sampling part sampling the light receiving signals output from the selector s (s&#x2267;2) times every time the measurement light is projected; and a detector performing processing of detecting an object in a detection-period-based period based on sampling values.

Laser radar device and object detection method

A laser radar device has a light projection part that projects light to a monitoring area outside a vehicle from a vehicle interior through a glass surface, a light receiving part that is placed a given distance away from the light projection part in a substantially horizontal direction to receive reflected light from an object outside the vehicle in the light projected by the light projection part through the glass surface, a measuring part that measures the distance to the object in the monitoring area based on timing when the light projection part projects the light and timing when the light receiving part receives the reflected light, and a light-projection shielding part that shields the light projected to an outside of the monitoring area in the light projected by the light projection part.
