A contact determination device includes a sensor measuring a contact degree of a body to be detected with an object, a contact determination unit determining whether the body to be detected is in contact with the object, based on a reference value, and a correction unit correcting the reference value, in which a cumulative value is obtained by accumulating a fluctuation amount of the detection value from a contact start time of the body to be detected with the object during a period in which the body to be detected is in contact with the object, and when the detection value increases as the contact degree increases, the correction unit corrects the reference value, based on a maximum value of the cumulative value, or when the detection value decreases as the contact degree increases, the correction unit corrects the reference value, based on a minimum value of the cumulative value.

Contact determination device and contact determination method

An electrostatic input apparatus is provided. A measuring unit measures capacitance at a plurality of coordinates of an electrostatic coordinate input unit. A converting unit obtains a reference value of the capacitance and converts the capacitance to difference values according to a distance between the electrostatic coordinate input unit at the coordinates and a finger. A first coordinate calculating unit calculates barycentric coordinates of a contact portion from the difference values for the plurality of coordinates. A cycle determining unit determines whether the difference values at coordinates on a circumference of a circle with a predetermined radius centered on the barycentric coordinates exhibit periodicity of two cycles in one round along the circle. An operation determining unit performs, when the cycle determining unit determines that the difference values exhibit periodicity of two cycles, a determination that an input operation using two or more fingers has been performed.

An in-vehicle device includes a plurality of transmitting antennas, an in-vehicle device transmitter configured to transmit measurement signals via the plurality of respective transmitting antennas, an in-vehicle device receiver configured to receive, from a portable device, a measurement result signal that includes measurement data of received signal strengths of the respective measurement signals that have been transmitted from the plurality of respective transmitting antennas, and an in-vehicle device controller configured to determine whether to identify a location of the portable device based on the received signal strengths included in the measurement result signal, and, in a case where the in-vehicle device controller has determined that the location of the portable device is to be identified, identify the location of the portable device based on the received signal strengths included in the measurement result signal.

An in-vehicle device includes transmitting antennas, an in-vehicle device transmitter configured to transmit request signals from the respective transmitting antennas, an in-vehicle device receiver configured to receive, from a portable device, an answer signal that includes received signal strengths of the respective request signals, and an in-vehicle device controller configured to calculate a distance from the portable device to each of a plurality of areas, based on both the received signal strengths of the respective request signals included in the answer signal and reference values for the request signals, and to identify an area to which the portable device belongs based on the distance. An input apparatus includes a plurality of electrodes spaced apart from each other, a signal processing unit configured to output an input signal depending on a change in a capacitance of each electrode, and a determination unit configured to determine whether an operation object comes in a proximity of at least one of electrodes based on input signals output from the signal processing unit. A boundary position, which determines the range of the positions of the window within which trap prevention control is disabled, is set according to the sum of a first amount of rotation and a second amount of rotation. The first amount of rotation approximates a change, in a reference amount of rotation, that corresponds to a change in a detected voltage from a reference voltage. The second amount of rotation is set to a value that is smaller than the difference between a specific amount of rotation at a stop and the reference amount of rotation and is larger than the amount of variations in the reference amount of rotation.

A degree of approach of an object in positions of a detection surface is periodically detected by a sensor unit, a group of detection data items indicating a result of the detection is generated in every one of cycles. The group of detection data items generated in the sensor unit is acquired in every one of cycles by a detection data acquisition unit. In the error determination unit, it is determined in every one of cycles whether there is an error in the detection operation due to noise based on a degree of a temporal change and a degree of a positional change in the detection data. When it is determined by the error determination unit that there is an error in the detection operation of one cycle, a process of acquiring the detection data generated in the one cycle is skipped in the detection data acquisition unit.

Evaluation values regarding a change in velocity of an object at coordinates of a detection surface are calculated on the basis of a series of coordinate data of the same object, and it is determined whether there is an error in each coordinate data on the basis of the evaluation values. In a case in which an extreme change in a velocity of the object occurs due to an influence of noise or the like, it is possible to accurately determine an error of the coordinate data on the basis of the evaluation values. Since the coordinate data in which it is determined that there is an error is corrected with data indicating the same coordinate P as that of coordinate data immediately before such coordinate data, the error of the detection result of the coordinates can be effectively reduced.

Threshold values smaller than degrees of proximity of an object indicated by detection data at peak positions are set based on detection data of the peak positions at which a degree of proximity of the object is higher than that of surrounding detection positions. An evaluation value according to an area of a region on a detection surface occupied by a group of detection positions, including the peak positions, in which degrees of proximity of the object indicated by detection data are higher than the threshold values, is calculated, and it is determined whether the object in proximity to the peak position is a finger or a palm based on the evaluation value.

A series of degree-of-approach data of the same object generated over a plurality of cycles of a detection operation is averaged in filter processing of the filter processing unit, and accordingly, the degree-of-approach data after averaging is acquired. Therefore, even in a case in which the degree-of-approach data is temporarily greatly changed due to an influence of noise, such a temporary change in the degree-of-approach data after averaging is suppressed. Further, response characteristics of a filter in the filter processing of the filter unit are changed according to a noise level which is detected by a noise detection unit. Accordingly, since appropriate filter processing according to the noise level is performed on the degree-of-approach data, the degree-of-approach data in which the influence of noise is effectively reduced is obtained.
