A remote starter transmits vehicle position information at a time of parking start to an information processor upon the parking start of a vehicle. The information processor judges whether to transmit a request for starting of the vehicle based on the vehicle position information and mobile-terminal position information upon reception of the request for starting of the vehicle and the mobile-terminal position information from a mobile terminal.

A vehicle controller installed in and controlling a vehicle includes an obtaining part that obtains identification information specific to the vehicle, a communicator that communicates with an information processor located outside the vehicle by transmitting and receiving information, a match judging part that makes a matching judgment on whether a plurality of the identification information obtained at different times are identical, and a judging part that judges whether to permit the control of the vehicle based on the matching judgment. The information processor also can make the matching judgment and only transmit a control command to the vehicle controller when there is a match.

Vehicle controller

A vehicle controller is installed in a vehicle and controls one or more operations of the vehicle. The vehicle controller includes a control unit that: (i) outputs a first code for authentication to a judging apparatus which judges whether to permit starting of a driving apparatus of the vehicle when a request for starting the driving apparatus is obtained from an information processor which is located outside the vehicle, (ii) controls locking and unlocking of doors of the vehicle when a request for door lock control is obtained from the information processor, and (iii) obtains from the judging apparatus an authentication result of whether the first code and a second code for authentication which the judging apparatus uses are identical. When obtaining the request for door lock control, the control unit controls the locking and unlocking of the doors based on the authentication result.

A fuel-saving driving diagnostic device stores an external power amount which indicates an amount of power charged by an external device and an internal power amount which indicates an amount of power charged by vehicle driving. The fuel-saving driving diagnostic device calculates a driving power amount which indicates an amount of power required for vehicle driving based on the stored external power amount, stored internal power amount, and an amount of power a vehicle currently has, and makes a diagnosis of fuel-saving driving based on the calculated driving power amount and the stored external power amount. As a result, sufficient information is calculated for prompting the driver of a plug-in hybrid car to do the fuel-saving driving.

When vehicle position information at a time of parking start is available, a remote starter transmits the vehicle position information at the time of parking start to an information processor. When the vehicle position information at the time of parking start is unavailable, the remote starter transmits the vehicle position information obtained just before the vehicle position information becomes unavailable, as the vehicle position information at the time of parking start to the information processor.

A travel route evaluation system is provided which is capable of enhancing the driver's consciousness of traveling on the a recommended route, in order to improve a degree of attainment of purposes, such as suppression of a fuel consumption and shortening of a required time, that would be obtained by presenting the recommended route. The system includes: a route setting unit for setting a recommended route from a departure point to a destination, based on traveling environment information associated with a traveling environment of a vehicle and map data, a ratio calculation unit for calculating a recommended route travel ratio which is a proportion of the recommended route in a traveled route on which the vehicle traveled; and an evaluation information acquisition unit for acquiring evaluation information based on the recommended route travel ratio.

A HV eco zone of the vehicle power indication status quantity display unit is the zone that is determined by the upper limit value and the lower limit value of the HV eco zone that indicates the motor is being effectively used to drive the vehicle. A check is made to determine whether the vehicle power indication status quantity is within the HV eco zone, and, if it is determined to be within the HV eco zone, the driving being performed is diagnosed as fuel-saving driving.

An accelerator opening determining unit determines whether an accelerator opening achieved through an accelerator operation by a driver of a vehicle exceeds an upper limit value thereof. A travel distance adding-up unit adds up a travel distance within accelerator-opening upper limit value when the accelerator opening is not determined to exceed the upper limit value. When the accelerator opening is determined to exceed the upper limit value, the travel distance adding-up unit adds up a travel distance exceeding accelerator-opening upper limit value. A fuel-saving driving rating unit rates the driving of the driver based on each added-up value added up by the travel distance adding-up unit.

A shift lever position determining unit determines whether a shift lever position of a vehicle satisfies predetermined conditions. If the shift lever position is determined to satisfy the predetermined conditions, a travel distance adding-up unit adds up an optimum shift lever position travel distance. If the shift lever position is determined not to satisfy the predetermined conditions, the travel distance adding-up unit adds up an inappropriate shift lever position travel distance. A fuel-saving driving rating unit rates driving by a driver based on each added-up value added up by the travel distance adding-up unit. A fuel-saving driving advice generating unit notifies the driver of fuel-saving driving advice together with a rating result in accordance with the rating result. Therefore, it is possible to encourage the driver to select an optimum shift lever position with high fuel efficiency and thereby to improve the driver's knowledge and awareness of the fuel-saving driving.

An accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling determining unit determines whether the number of engine revolutions of a vehicle is equal to or higher than a predetermined value, whether an accelerator opening rate is equal to or lower than a predetermined value, and whether a traveling state is an accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling state where a quantity of fuel injection to an engine is 0. When it is determined that the traveling state is the accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling state, the traveling distance adding-up unit adds up accelerator-off, fuel-cut traveling distances. A fuel-saving driving rating unit rates driving by a driver based on each of the added-up values which were added up by the traveling distance adding-up unit. A fuel-saving driving advice generating unit notifies the driver of a fuel-saving driving advice together with a rating result in accordance with the rating result. Therefore, it is possible to encourage the driver to perform early engine operation by an engine braking, and to enhance the driver's awareness of fuel saving driving.

A total distance calculating unit calculates a total running distance and an energy-cut-off distance calculating unit calculates a deceleration running distance of a vehicle. The deceleration running distance is a distance for which the vehicle runs while the vehicle is in a deacceleration state and no energy is supplied to a motor of the vehicle. A deceleration-running evaluating unit evaluates deceleration running of the vehicle based on a ratio of the deceleration running distance to the total running distance. The result of the evaluation is displayed for the driver of the vehicle.

In an apparatus for evaluating fuel-saving driving of a vehicle, a detecting unit detects a starting point and an end point of a deceleration area; a storage unit stores therein deceleration value information representing a deceleration value per unit time tolerated for safely decelerating from a predetermined traveling speed to a predetermined deceleration completion speed; a calculating unit calculates an actual traveling distance during a time period from detection of the starting point until detection of the end point; an acquiring/calculating unit acquires the deceleration value corresponding to the traveling speed at the detected starting point from the storage unit, and calculates a tolerance deceleration traveling distance based on the traveling speed and the deceleration value; and a judging unit judges the timing of the starting point based on a result of comparison between the actual traveling distance and the tolerance deceleration traveling distance.

A driving support apparatus supports a driver in driving a vehicle on a road by giving instructions. The driving support apparatus includes a recognizing unit that recognizes a current driving lane that is a lane on the road in which the vehicle is currently running; a lane setting unit that sets a driving schedule lane that is a lane in which the vehicle is to be driven; and a guiding unit that determines content of lane guidance based on the driving schedule lane and the current driving lane, and guides the driver to a lane based on the lane guidance when the road is substantially straight.
