An image forming apparatus includes a first conveyor, a cutter, a second conveyor, a detection image forming section, a detector, and a controller. The first conveyor conveys a print medium. The cutter cuts the conveyed print medium. The second conveyor conveys, in a first direction, the print medium cut by the cutter. The detection image forming section forms a detection image on the print medium and the second conveyor. The detector detects, at two positions in a second direction, the detection image formed on the print medium or the detection image formed on the second conveyor. The controller varies one or both of a conveying speed of the print medium to be conveyed by the first conveyor and a cutting speed of the print medium to be cut by the cutter, on the basis of a comparison of the detection image detected at the two positions.

Image forming apparatus

A developer collection device includes a container, a frame, a first fin, and a second fin. The container has an opening, and contains a developer introduced into the container from the opening. The frame extends in a first axis direction, and is attached, to the container, swingably relative to the container in the first axis direction. The first and second fins are provided in the container, and are attached to first and second base points of the frame, respectively. The first and second fins extend in third and fourth directions from the first and second base points, respectively. The third and fourth directions are directions inclining downward and thereby forming angles that are smaller than ninety degrees relative to first and second directions, respectively. The first direction extends along the first axis direction. The second direction is a direction opposite to the first direction.

Developer collection device, belt unit, and image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a movable endless belt, an image forming unit forming a developer image, a transfer unit transferring the developer image to a medium on a downstream side of the image forming unit in a belt moving direction, a belt cleaning unit cleaning the belt on a downstream side of the transfer unit in the belt moving direction, a detection unit detecting a surface state of the belt on a downstream side of the transfer unit and on an upstream side of the belt cleaning unit in the belt moving direction, and a control unit stopping move of the belt based on a result detected at the detection unit before any foreign object on the belt reaches the belt cleaning unit or the image forming unit.
